  1. He's just runnin his hole because it was something I said. He'll deny laughing at All in the Family and Archie Bunker next. Hell he probably will claim how offended he was by the video of the Amazing racist haulin those mexicans to the INS office and all the comments he made while doing it.
  2. I know that several manufactures recomend plasitgage for clearances on STOCK engines. But then look at the range of acceptable clearances in a stock engine. And let me get this straight, you use plastigage, then you use micrometers??? And if that is the case, how many times have they been different?
  3. I assume that none of you laugh, even a little while watching Blazing Saddles, or Archie Bunker, right??? And if you can't say that you don't luagh, then sitting here saying your not racist is silly. No one here is using the screen name of Baldur von Schirach. (he was real evil, look it up) and promoting hate. But we must attempt to be half way politically correct. Well that is unless it has to do with a woman, and then it's open season on women, but not Anthony's wife. But Leianni (or what ever her name is) is a target, and any ex-GF as well. Yall really should make up your minds about who it's alright to offend and post a list.
  4. NO NO NO, that wa my buddy that A. I.'d dairy cows. Coey- Buy you a drink? prospect - sure, whats' your name? Coey - Duane prospect - Well Hi Duane, I'm XXXXX. So what do you do? Coey - I work for COBA prospect - what's that, I mean what do you do for them, it sounds soo interesting Coey - Well, I inseminate dairy cows,, (chick now has eyes the size of sliver dollars) ya see, I reach this arm up their ass, and with this arm I put this syringe thingy in her snatch up to about my wrist, and give her a shot of the love juice. (chick now spews drink all over floor) no longer a prospect - Wow, just wow, I really have to go now,,, nice talking to ya. Coey - Can I get you number then? this is typically where he gets laughed at or given the number to the morgue or some such shit. Yes, I seen him do it, and that's the way it happens, and yess, I have been in the bar or what ever when he was still at COBA and telling women this. And never had teh heart to explain to him that wometn don't waht to hear that you have hands up a cows butt before you even know their name.
  5. Cylinder temps go up, shit melts, and yes, if ther is enough heat and ample supplies of oxygen aluminium will burn. Did you FIND the piece of the piston that's missing? And can you explain how detonation and pre-ignition differ?? Here again, if you had read the post, I said guess, how would I have known he ran it al all ofter it blew. But I am sort of curious, since the motor is mutliport EFI, and to O2 sensor would have been seeing some level of almost raw fuel, and would have tried to pull fuel from it to get it back in tune, why would it have still been rich.
  6. Geeze, ya bunch a no tool havin tools. Anthony, you can come get the hoist from me. It will fit in the blazer with no problem. As far as an engine stand. If you go pickup 4 steel wheels, two that are fixed and two that spin, I will assemble a stand that you can use. I am getting ready to build one but I don't have wheels. You get em and I will let you use the stand as long as you need it. Plastigage, anyone else want to put in some redneck advice? Fuck it, just gap it with a matchbook cover. It will be fine..... NOT! I have the inside and outside micrometers, depth micrometers and all that other shit that you will need to PROPERLY measure the clearances of the motor. Let me know when you need them and I will bring them over, and show you how to use them/do the measuring for you. I know I sound like an ass here but shit, he ain't slapping together a 4 banger for a fucking beater here.
  7. You got any clearer pics of that Tilly? I love the way that everyone seems to be trying to diagnois the failure on that cylinder without being able to CLEARLY see the marks in the top of that piston. The harsh reality is that other than it maybe being a tad rich (indicated from the black on the top of the piston, those pics are too blurry to see what did this in. And the ones screaming detonation. You might consider that the color of that specific cylinder is much lighter than the others, indicating a lean condition. And since everyone else seems to what to guess, I will throw mine in too, and maybe Tilly will be kind enough to spill the beans about what actually happened. So my guess is that the marks are aluminium from when the hole got burnt in the piston caused by a lean condition, most likely because of either a plugged injector or a plugged nitrous fuel nozzle. That cylinder ran out of fuel to burn, becuase it was so lean so it started burning the aluminium in the piston top. If Tilly would be so kind as to tell us if the marks are raised up or if they are indentations on the top of the piston, and maybe show a pic of the sparkplug, and the head, specifically the chamber of that cylinder, we would all have a better idea. But, like I said, I am just guessing, but my guess has little to do with detonation.
  8. Dude, Iknow your PISSED. But I would bet real money that dude had no fucking clue that she was with you, and even if he did, SHE is the one that ran off with him. I seriously doubt that he twisted her arm to pull this shit. Remember the post about Evil little split tails and all the drama that goes with. Go in serach of a 30 something that will be happy that she has male companionship and don't play these games, seriously, 20 somethings are all abotu shit like this. Just my two cents. And find dude, congradulate him and applogize for not waning him about the fact chicky has the clap, and he better go get a shot quick. Better yet, warn him about wanting her wanting to screw other guys while she has her current BF watch. That should be good for a few laughs.
  9. Yeah, I know the guy (John Kohan) that runs that.
  10. Lowes, Gray Bar, Home Depot, Grainger (online/with will call desk in Worthington) CED (Columbus electrical Distribution) and my garage, depending on what it is that you need. I am curious what you have going. I would hope that with wire nuts and crap like that you are not going to be doing wiring in a car. The ONLY proper way of doing automotive wiring is with a soldering iron and heat shrink. And either tape to wrap it all up or conviluted (split loom) tubing of the proper size.
  11. I am wondering, is there anyt way that you can limit the duty cycle on the injectors to 99%. I am wondering if there is some sort of Y2K shit happening. Yuo said that this is JUST on your engine even to the point that you have moved the computer to another car and it didn't act up. If that other car wasn't built like your's is then I am thinking that the injectors ever go to a 100% duty cycle. I figure its' worth a shot.
  12. OK, there is a level of silliness not normally encountered in day to day life. I assume that they attend the years stupitidy conference's right. And as a warning, I have found that being in close proximity to stupidity for extended periods of time will first have an dizzying effect from the continuial shaking of your head followed by a general dumbing effect.
  13. I believe I have seen that, had a KM 123 I think, and a few other train horns as well on the truck. http://www.dieselairhorns.com/media/KM-123.WMV
  14. OWNED!! And it serves his right too. BTW, for those of you have have never felt a bag deploy, it's like getting punched in the face. So you go grandma!!!!!
  15. I don't get it, everyones saying what a "big motor" that is, but the 502 is based on a standard Chevy big block design. So other than the intake on it, it's the same size motor phyically as what came in the Vette in 75. Oh I keep forgetting that it wold be twice the size of the four bangers that are on here. And as far as a crate motor being boring, I don't know. GM is rating part of the 502's at 500 HP and giving 100000 mile warranties with them as long as they are not modified or sprayed. 500 ponies with a 100000 mile warranty don't seen so boring if you just want something to just drop in and run.
  16. I can bet you some air bags for putting in between pallets. They are about 4 by 4 and are designed to hold air. Let me know.
  17. Oh, and Time Warner took 2 years to update the system out here after buying it from Adelphia. And the idea they communicated anything to the landlord is questionable at best. But if they have cable modem there now, they should have digital cable, becasue both require two way amplifiers on the system to make those services work. If they don't have digital, and they have put in cable modem, I wouldn't expect them to roll out any other services like digital cable for quite awhile. I ai't gonna bore you with all the details of what they go through to deside who gets what. But Time Warner is buying up all the little guys where there is alot of houses going up and updating those systems. If your system is updated, they ain't gonna screw with it again for quite a while.
  18. Ok, as far as the dish thing and Internet. Anything that Dish network or Direct TV is doing is oneway, the download at high speed but you upload and make IP requests across a phone line. The dish does NOT transmit. So you are capped for speed because of the way TCPIP works being an acknowledged protocol, the ack's go across the phone line as the packets come in off the dish. You are limited to about 384 because the ack's can't be uploaded any faster and that is with a full 56k phone connection, if the connect speed on the line is slow then the download sweed goes down too. If they are doing something different now, I don't know about it, but that was the case when I looked into it a couple months ago. And sharing the bandwidth is a bitch because of this also. It ain't like just running it into a router/NAT appliance and plugging everything else into the inside of the router. And what dude said about the 100 MB fair share limit. That's not 100 mb of downloading files. That is 100 mb of total incoming traffic, so ALL packets are counted, not just FTP or HTTP file transfer. Sit and consider what one jpeg file is on a web site, there are 4 to 6 jpegs per meg, and 100 meg. How long would it take how many of you living there to burn up 100mb?? Now, as far as the two way dishes (not direct TV or Dish that are only one way) there are a few services that offer high speed across a two way link. These HAVE to be installed by an FCC licensed installer (lots of money) and they have both a daily fair share and a monthly fair share agreement.
  19. This may all be stuff that you have tried, so if I mention something silly don't pay it any mind if you tried it. If the car will do this with two different ECU's and the ECU's with the tuner will work in another car then it's under the hood for sure, but you knew that. I went back over the modifications, and I am wondering if you can get this problem to repeat at will or if it's still sporatic. If you can get it to repeat at will, first thing I would do is pull the front drive belt, leaving only yhe blower connected, if that's not possible disconnect the alternator wires ,and make sure they will not short and try running the car. The other thing that keeps coming to mind is what would pull timeing and make the car go rich. The only thing I can come up with is output from the knock sensor. If you have gone from a 302 to a 347, then I am thinking you are running a stroker. So maybe somethings hitting the crank and the knock sensor is hearing it and going banannas. Try pulling the dipstick and see if the problem goes away, there is a possibility that the oil dipstick is hitting the crank. I dont know if that would cause this,, but it's somethingto try that is simple enough. Marc's motor was knocking once we got the idle down to reasonable levels and I was at a loss, Tinman found that was causing the knock in Marc's car. I assume that you have been over every wire under the hood, at least twice so I don't really thing it's a short, but I am wondreing if the fuel pump relay is possibly sticking. With the increase in pump size the current draw went up. If the contacts in the relay are welding together, that might cause this as well because it would take control of the fuel delivery away from the ECU. But it wouldn't effect timing. If you get the car to act up, look at the relay with a test light and see if the ECU is telling it to stay on or if it's sticking, other thatn that, try swapping in a differnt relay. While Iam no Ford man, I know that Dodge and I believe Chevy don't reference fuel pressure to the ECU (no sensor for it) The computer simply turns on the pump for a programmed amount of time when the key is turned on then waits to see ignition pulses before turning it back on. Since it's running with the motor not running, of course there are no pulses. So the relay thing comes back into play again here, other than I would think it would continue to run the pump even with the key off. Something else, is this a return style system or a pulse time setup where the pump is turned on and off to maintain fuel pressure? You mentioned that you can hear fuel going through the rails. Which makes me curious as to where it's going to. There are some more, totally uneducated guesses. Hope it helps some.
  20. This car should be cut up and merged with a kit body.
  21. +1 for Rolla, gthae mans work is top notch.
  22. OK, think about what would cause the fuel pump to run all the time. Since the fuel pump runs from the ECU, and trhe nly itme that the pump would do what it's doing is whenthe ECU is in either diagnostic mode or limp mode right? Since thething runs right wiout the tuner connected, then I would assume that the rest of the motor, wiring and other factory parts are ok. This leaves the tuner, now I am totally in the dark here, I wouldn't know what a tuner was if you handed it to me unless you told me tha'ts what it was. But I am going to assume that it is some box that plugs into the diag port of the computer and the cig lighter. So we have the unit and the it's connections to the car. First thing I would try is connecting it to the diag port but not to the power and see if it causes problems. Then if the thing has a power switch, I would turn it off and connect it to power and see if the problem shows up. If there is a ground loop between the cig lighter and the ECU it could act up. If that's not bringing about the problem, find one of those jump boxes with a cig lighter style power port on it and power the unit off that so the power is independent of the car. If the problems don't come back doing this I would pull power into the car, straight from the battery and power the unit from that, again independent of the rest of the car's wiring. If the problems come back run an aditional ground for the ECU to the battery. That's really all I have, I don't know dick about tuners, EFI or any of that shit. So this is a SWAG (scientific wild ass guess). Hope it helps at least narrow the problem.
  23. I gotta ask? It seems that Amy's made her mind up to do something and it seems that part of the members here instead of wishing her luck with it, are berating the desision. Yall suck. Amy, good luck! Hope that things work out for you and all the hard work pays off. BTW, as far as the 50 lbs and 10 inches...we really need some pics here.
  24. one more. and this gotta make you wonder http://www.davesdaily.com/pictures/200-celebmakeup.htm
