Bagged another skunk tonight with the Mrod. One shot through the chest, sounded like a baseball hitting a glove. Dropped him hard. Unfortunately he sprayed and thus he's bug food until I can bury him in the am.

18:59 LOL! I think they probably should edited the clip there....

Looks awesome. Your issues reaffirm that nothing is made well anymore, even supposedly nice vehicles. I don't know if it's build quality, give a shit factor or we have so much tech going into these things that no one really knows shit if it's all going to last. I'm convinced it's a combination of all the above thus I'm not buying any of them. Cars are nothing more than a cost to drive per month/per mile thus why I continue to rent them, beat the hell out of them and turn them in. Nice Jeep for sure.

I'm not "heavy" into them but I have a couple really nice ones (for my level of use) knowing there are some awesome ones out there costing much more. As many I started as a kid with the basic single shot BB gun, then upgraded to a .177 caliber pump, then up to a .177 Nitro Piston. The first .22 I had is this one: https://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Benjamin_Trail_NP_XL_Air_Rifle/2052 Loved it and still have it. It's a great gun as I think all Benjamine's are and thus I upgraded this summer to an 8 shot repeater that is https://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Benjamin_Marauder_Mrod_Air_Rifle_Combo/3541#6830 .25 caliber is great for what I use it for which is plinking the PIA squirrels and local varmints in our yard. I've upgraded the optics on both and have both pretty well dialed-in for accuracy. The challenge with any becomes finding the right ammo that shoots accurately. Even then, there's inconsistency depending on pressure in the gun.

So Steve, a good friend of mine for 12+ years brought me his wife's 2013 C300 AWD. IMO, one of the the perfect daily drivers in terms of performance, style and features, especially for someone not in need of a huge vehicle. They purchased the vehicle at about 1 year old and it's now going on 6+ with about 60k miles on it. The paint wasn't horrible but was definitely wearing swirls and was pretty badly contaminated. I used 14 pads on this vehicle to keep them clean and fresh. In terms of what we targeted package wise, it was my Premium Enhancement Polish followed by a few coating options. The goal was to reduce the swirls as best possible without breaking the bank and given it's white it will hide lots of things too. However, the hydrophobic property was key to achieving go-forward success making clean up a snap. 2 layers of Cquartz UK was the coating selected, followed by a single layer of CarPro Gliss on the horizontal surfaces only in order to attack the surfaces most impacted by gunk and to balance out the budget he was looking at spending. It was a great move as it allowed money to be spend on the trim coating. This way that diamond pattern grill up front along the entire bumper and lights as well as the rear bumper and windshield cowling will no longer fade nor be an issue looking dull. What you see here will stay clean and dark for a long time. Lastly, I gave the interior a good once over, parked the Ozone machine inside to give it a like-new clean smell and I took a few extra minutes to polish up the door jambs and fancy MBZ Sill kick-plates which now look super nice. Here's the pictorial of what was done. The car overall was just pretty dirty and the paint filled with contaminants Years of car washes and harsh towels make an impact and cause the finish to swirl and dull-out. B Pillars are pretty easy to clean up and now these are swirl free. Sorry for the poor cell phone image on this one and the other two above. Some end of day Golden Hour or close to it, images of the after. These are a little better thanks to using a real camera vs phone No more need to dress the trim on the front. It's coated and will stay black. The wheels weren't too bad originally and while they aren't coated, they have been polished and are wearing a nice sealant on them now. No more having to dress up this bit of trim along the bumper No detail spared... Thanks again to Steve and Karen for trusting in my work. Steve's Loire Blue Metallic Jaguar XJ is coming next week. The metallic in it is stunning and it's going to amazing. Like a rolling blue-suite on wheels.

Got mine yesterday. Thanks Tina! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

Haha! Don't know. Overall, it's a great car that makes the wife smile but it's no better in terms of quality than any standard Ford. We didn't choose it because of that so we're good. Lincoln does treat us better though. That's a big part of why we got one. Same with my car. The car is Meh....but when it fails like everything else, they exceed the way Audi treated me by light years.

You are correct sir. Not claiming to be a tech. Doesn't pay enough. Was was operating off emotion. They indeed broke a stud and fucked up the wheel. The brakes are indeed being done and the bearing is toast. what's related to what, I don't care. Dealer is covering it all. Aviator is a sweet ride and it's a fantastic loaner in the mean time. They know how to up-sell that's for sure. Note to self....drive the wife's car now and then because she doesn't notice even the obvious signs that something is wrong. Ugh...

Would make merging on 270 interesting...

^^ it was a hieght / space issue, but I took some time last night and today to resolve it and go with a larger unit. LOL on the pricing right? Well, it was really about space and value but in the end, go big or go home right? ^^ agree. I went after to look them over and this is what I'm going with to close it out and move onto getting it set up. Thanks guys.

So looking over things it seems like something along this line will be what I may end up be best getting in order to have the unit keep up with the 4.5cfm (with 1.5x factor = 6.5cfm) tool requirement. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Maxair-25-Gal-Portable-Electric-Powered-Air-Compressor-P4125H1-MAP/203174885 Am I correct in that by going more powerful here it will not only keep up with a constant use of the tool but simultaneously be able to refill the recovery tank and then shut off for a period of time? Clearly my goal is to stay within a 50% duty cycle as to not kill the damn thing. The way I figure it, I would charge the tank run it and then use it for likely 5-7 minutes at a time likely, then pause as I finish the task either extracting or wiping up the area cleaned thus allowing for the compressor to rest. It's a big jump to just over $1,200 with a 2yr warranty & then another 3yr on-site HD warranty but it will be worth it if it's able to run without issues.
-
^^ that's about right...but that poor bastard isn't going to get out of his lease as VW/Audi isn't going to let him out through Swap a Lease or like sites. Lots of lenders maintain the original lessee as a co-signer and they are one of them.
-
Never put money down on lease though.....keep that equity in your pocket. Rates are so low it's not going to save you much at all. Putting money down runs against the who concept of leasing and puts your money at risk should you total it or get out early. Just my 2 Cents.
-
Love it but at the prices they are going to sell at.....
-
Agree, thus why I'm looking at units that are above the tools requirements. I have talked with them too and their suggestion was 5cfm ratings were good for the tool.
-
^^ that's the route I'm leaning thus why the $300 Husky one has my eye. For $45 I can buy the warranty that takes it out 4yrs too. By that time, even if it's still doing strong, I may do like most car guys do and upgrade anyway
-
I may take you up on that as I may have a use for it as well. Thanks! Text or call me for the detail on her car. Booking for the weekend of Sept 13th.
-
haha! yeah, I've heard some old ones that were loud as hell but these new ones all seem pretty quiet. I'm going to do a bit more reading and getting to know them as I want to make a good decision but not go overkill. $300 isn't much but once I step up to $700 or more I need to make sure it's not going wasted on my needs for it. I'm in a mood now as I always lead with buying what seems to be the better quality stuff but honestly, even that shit fails. I have a $500 polisher that just went down yet my other brand $400 units have been going for 5+ years without even a brush change in them. Nothing today is really made like it used to be and "long life" out of anything is a joke anymore it seems.

Good feedback. Again, I'm not compressor knowledgeable but am learning and figured the oiled route was better for longevity. This Next one looks like the step up from the one above? Again, you're doing more in terms of work with it. I'll use it for inflation, quick jacks, and various Tornador Cleaning tools. Not more than a couple times per week really and light use. Thoughts on this one? https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-30-Gal-155-PSI-Ultra-Quiet-Portable-Electric-Air-Compressor-C302H/206695048

Looking to add a compressor for a pretty straightforward need related to my detailing work. Long story short, it's only going to be used a couple times per week for about an hour each run. So nothing really heavy duty. Both of these units meet the specs for the tool which is 4.5cfm at 90psi. Tool will operate between 75-90psi for optimum performance. I'm looking to stay at 30 gals as the footprint these both have is perfect for my space. It's question of value vs any net-gains from their differences. I don't mind spending more on a nicer unit but if benefits of doing so won't necessarily impact me then I'd rather not as that wouldn't make sense. Looking for some bit of an education on these and any others you might suggest. Thanks in advance! https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-30-Gal-175-PSI-High-Performance-Quiet-Portable-Electric-Air-Compressor-C303H/206532808 or https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-KOBALT-30-Gallon-Portable-Electric-Vertical-Air-Compressor/1000528965

Thanks Clay. I know what you mean, when he rolled up in it with Derek, I was like "I so could make that thing look awesome" and then he showed interest and I knew it was going to be a fun one to work on. Thanks! Howard has the best part of the deal though. I only moved it 50ft total. IMO that style Supra is the best looking car of the 90's. Lots of great cars back then too. Thanks Howard. Hold off on it for one week but the real fun is the first wash. BaT has me drooling over few. Timeless for sure.

So Howard has his gal here for quite a long time and they've been through a lot together. He first brought it over when Derek was getting his wife's Mustang set up for its coating job. I had a chance to look it over and together we decided that a lot could be done but it wasn't necessary to chase perfection to get the results he was looking to see. Overall the finish was just faded a bit, covered in swirls and being pure black, wasn't able to really look as fast as it is. So we set out to go with my Premium Enhancement Polish Package and given it's not a daily driver nor one that will see much if any harsh weather, to top off the results with 2 layers of GYEON's Super-Hydrophobic CanCoat SiO2 based Ceramic Coating. In the process I also polished up the glass that was etched pretty badly and topped it off with some glass coating as a favor for him. I'll jump right to the pics as they tell the story. I'll lead off with what it looked like from a swirl-city standpoint. One of the best looking cars of the 90's IMO I'm going to be sad to see it leave as it makes my garage look good.
