  1. I saw that. It's an interesting platform. Has it's challenges like any other but the costs to move it quick are less. with a good tune some cooling and exhaust work. No manual conversions or tunes beyond my JB4 here though.
  2. Better than anything g Ford has launched. Looks perfect! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  3. So Rick and his wife picked up a new daily for her but one he shares in when she allows. They've had the vehicle for 2yrs and it was long due for a makeover. Loaded with tar and contaminants it came in needing a good bit of clean up to prep it for the polisher. Goal here was to get it looking good and protecting it with a coating. It wasn't terribly swirled and given it's a metallic silver/gray it hides things well. So in efforts to offer a bit more options we decided to go with my Basic Clean and Protect only now sealed up with two layers of Ceramic Coating vs a traditional wax or sealant. Having saved a bit on the polisher side of things it allowed for three additional options to be included. Wheel coating, glass coating and trim coating, all of which really help pull the complete package together and present a like-new vehicle.

Congrats and good for you! Dr. Greger has become a good friend and I highly recommend his book, site and way of living. Changed the way I look and feel like nothing I've ever done. Cancer can be fought and prevented with what you eat. Heart disease and diabetes can be reversed. https://nutritionfacts.org/book/
  5. Some pants got stained that day......WOW! Agree with JP.....great reaction skills to real that in and pull through like that.
  6. ^^^ this. I drove one when my wife was looking and the interior of them is nice too. You don't see many on the road which is a cool factor IMO. Love the color too!
  7. it's a company car..........flog the hell out of it and don't look back. it will be covered under warranty.
  8. Thx. I'm old too as I dig it. Interior is nearly perfect. I'll touch base on the M3 this week. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  9. So a neighbor and friend, JD Picked up this 59k mile 2000 SL500 and asked that I give it a good once-over both inside and out. It has had it's share of rub-downs so the paint is thin and some areas have been re-sprayed. The interior was pretty good overall but dirty and dingy for sure. The approach was to keep the entire package in a reasonable range cost wise so we went with my Premium Enhancement Polishtopped with GYEON's CanCoat Ceramic Coating. The goal was to reduce the swirls a good bit but not chase perfection because it would compromise the clear too much. Interior wise we went with my Premium Interior Package as the carpet and fabric needed steam cleaned and the seats were embedded with dirt. Interior was most important and the leather was key since it was also very dry. Here the perfect solution is my Leather Restoration Option. This not only cleans the leather but also re-moisturizes it with the necessary oils that will keep it supple and free from cracking going forward. All in all the car came out fantastic! Interior wise it's a 9/10 only because the driver side bolster is showing a bit of wear. It's an easy fix as re-dying the interior perfectly is a snap for my friend Phil Lacke at Firbrenew. No more old car smell and all the materials are back to like-new condition and color. I'm really happy with how it turned out. Exterior wise I'm very pleased too. The Magma Red Metallic now "POPS" and has a great tone to it. The clear was blended in several areas over the years so it's not as deep as it could have been in spots but the coating really helps make up for that by giving it a candy like glow. This is a weekend and top down only no-rain car so we went with CanCoat as it's effective life will go on for years being it's low use and no exposure. Why spend money on higher end longer lasting coatings that will never see their limits reached. Anyway, onto the pics: The wheels here are being replaced. I saw the newer ones that are similar to these but larger and are off to be later this week. Reflection off the hood

^^ Well said. I remember while taking care of my father him giving me a hard time about spending money on vacations and the events we do each week with the kids. His generation was more frugal and smart but today, we are too the benefit is we make more money and can do these things. I'd be more wealthy for sure had we saved it all but I'd be less rich in a sense of fulfillment and joy; we all would and that to me is priceless. I won't put a price on happiness and joy because if I walk out the door and die tonight, at least my legacy will live on in all those memories and good times. No one I love will look at the money and say they were glad they have that in place of the good times we have had together.
  11. People spend shit tons of effort and brag about 10's or trapping at 140 and you make going 9's and blowing the balls off trap speeds look effortless. WOW!

I only know one person who did. Bitter and selfish.....perhaps to some, but walking a day in someone else's shoes and seeing what they are going through from their own eyes will often show it's not about them being selfish. That may be part of the end result but often there are way more other things going through their minds and being selfish towards others isn't usually at the top of their list.
  13. I doubt the chemical they used did that.....they probably polished it with a rotary and a wool pad and you were seeing the holograms and micro marring from the wool. My harsh guess is whatever they used is just hiding them temporarily. I see it a lot in New Cars that come to me, especially imports/Japanese ones with soft paint. That's why when I do a test panel upon inspection/drop off day, I strip the panel first then show the customer that their new car isn't exactly swirl free. Either way I can do black right and get it looking like this.
  14. When I see it sometime I'll look it over and work a deal for you guys. IF and that's a big IF they did any type of correction, even partial, that will go a long way in saving money. Coating wise, I doubt they put anything good on there. Jax Wax and Simonize are two typical car dealer suppliers for what they call coatings but both are very meh at best. I've used them and seen them applied by dealers and like you said, no comparison. The key is in the correction and polish
  15. Nice find. Will look great with the black done right
  16. You're welcome. I hope you enjoy it and keep me posted on the aluminum rails. I'm also interested in your thoughts on the coating in terms of hydrophobic property and impact on keeping it clean. Rain storms are fun.
  17. So Patrick's daily is a pretty sweet ride that makes a lot of sense and bang for the buck was IMO ridiculous. I wasn't aware they were able to be picked up for such a great price. This is a 2015 unit that likely sat around outside a bit prior to his buying it 2 years or so ago. Not having put much into it except washes, it needed a little TLC to bring it back to new condition. Keeping in mind his fun rides have demands we stuck to a budget with my Basic Clean and Protect Package paired with a Super hydrophobic Ceramic Coating that will yield 9-12 months of protection (I've seen longer) and had it on my Q50 as well when doing so. In the process of reviewing the car, I noticed the anodized aluminum trim had been tarnished/stained as most German car tend to have happen. It's not something that can be easily fixed but I did find that layering on some coating specific to trim and sealing it with a third layer of Cquartz knocked the visibility of the stains down a good 90+ percent. Anyway, I picked on Patrick for letting his daily go but it was fun watching the layers of crud and embedded muck be stripped away. nearly 2.5hrs of washing and decontamination were needed. Here's what I had to start with: Lots of bugs on the front, tar and road grime on the rockers and embedded dirt in white paint The Tail End was about the same with the addition of a lot of ferrous particles starting to rust. It's important to catch and remove these before the rust breaks into the clear coat which will eventually lead to surface rust and clear coat failure. Following a strong wash I move into remove the the ferrous metals and contaminants chemically. It took two rounds to remove them all. From there it's now safe to clay/nano-mitt the surface to remove more. His car was LOADED with contaminants. Here's what a 50/50 of the anodized aluminum issue looked like. After just one layer of trim coating it began to mask and visually be improved. Now let's look at the final results......
  18. So CJ here on CR enjoyed having his Focus ST cleaned up and coated back in January so much he decided to take advantage of my referral program for non-CR peeps and for that he earned $25! What came to me today is the newly restyled Hyundai Santa Fe. Being the owner has had it for just over 1,100 miles it was the perfect candidate for my New Car Polish and Prep Package. Included with this package is paint coating that the owner upgraded to CarPro Cquartz; Glass Coating and here the additional job of ceramic coating all the plastic trim filled the remaining services I applied to it. Let's start off with the benefit in appearance that new car package polishing stage adds to the look of this 2019 in Twilight Black Metallic with only 1100 miles on it. ^^ What you're seeing above to the left is the stock paint as delivered from the dealer. To the right is after polishing with my Ceramic Coating Prep Polish that not only greatly enhances gloss but increases depth as most coatings will. On dark colors it's common to see the color darken by a shade or two as shown here. Lastly, it's also a "primer" to the coating that is going on as the final protectant thus ensuring a stronger bond and an add to the already great durability. Now Let's look at the same difference to the plastic Trim. How nice will it be for the owner to not have to "dress" the trim when washing it. Now for the next 1-2 years this trim will always look dark and freshly dressed while also being resistant to road tar, grime and dirt. (Painted surfaces in this image have not been polished or touch yet) Now onto the final product with the Painted areas, all glass and all trim having been coated. Twilight Black Metallic Flake is popping! Thanks again to Chris / CJ here on the board for this referral and trusting in my work once again. I really appreciate it. -tim
  19. I'm with you. I love tech but I've read a ton of reviews that claim blue tooth garage door devices quirk out and randomly open or close the door. I can't take that risk not even a super low risk. The wireless keypad has never failed me and I simply change out the lithium AA's every fall.
  20. Our Lincoln goes in Monday. Different issue but yet another Ford Transmission gripe. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
