  1. Will have to see it in person but in pics I'm not a fan of the interior.
  2. ^^ this. Looks killer. I'd be hesitant on a first or second model year buy strictly for the bugs sake but it is sharp. I wonder if they've set up the design to also include a hybrid power unit system?
  3. Thanks! Home-made not printed professionally like they do on dealer ones but I may go that route later. I always remove the plates when detailing so it's easy enough to just finger tighten in the screws on these to hold it in place. Like you said, a little more exposure to the business name with the added benefit of a bit of privacy.
  4. So many of saw Derek's Mustang that he and his wife added to their stable a few months back. It's a great looking 2016 GT that he's since done a few things with. Anyway, his plans for the car were to get it cleaned up and coated so that going forward it would be easier to clean. It was loaded with swirls but the good thing is white tends to mask them and he wasn't so much concerned with that aspect of it as he was the cleaning ability going forward. The that were present are what causes the finish to NOT "pop" or reflect like well so diminishing them considerably would not only help the overall appearance, but when it comes to coatings, one of the key aspects to having a hydrophobic dirt and water resistant property is to level it out as best possible. No different than any surface. All that said, we opted for the following: Premium Enhancement Polish CarPro Coating 2 layers on sides, 3 on horizontal surfaces. Trim Coating Glass Coating The coating packages I put together included 2 layers but there's a third layer of a secondary coating that is also offered that I gear towards cars that sit outside or get exposed to a lot of fallout. Doing the entire car with this third layer wasn't what he was looking to do but I was able to put it on all the horizontal surfaces to help protect against tree sap and other contaminants that are prone to these surfaces. I started later in the morning and mother nature didn't give me enough sunlight at the end to get great pics or many at all but here are a handful. These however don't do it justice. It looks stunning in person with the black and white contrasts and the surface is so smooth and hydrophobic, I can't wait to show him and his wife when they get here. Lastly, later on I'll add a cold start video as Derek absolutely nailed the exhaust. This one sounds awesome and without being too loud and no rasp. Anyway, off to the pics because she is looking "Purrrdy": The gloss black wheels look great on this car The trim coating will not only keep it's dark look as if it was freshly dressed but will help shed the bugs, etc. better. Reflective Surfaces Baby! In my garage for the night awaiting Pick up on Sunday Thanks again for trusting in my work Derek. You set the standard for service and reliability here on CR so I hope to follow in those same footsteps!
  5. Pic Whore time since I actually used a decent camera vs just my phone.

  7. GLASS COATINGS AT NO CHARGE: Hey guys, I have a fairly good inventory of some glass coatings that I am going to use up in efforts to clear out my drawer so a promo that I'm going to run on ANY of my exterior packages whether it's a basic clean up or a correction package. Package will include ALL Windows front, sides, rear and sunroofs. Hit me up and we'll coordinate schedules. Tim 614-795-4907 cell
  8. +1,234 on that thing looking sharp  Well done. Let it drink in the Meg's overnight as single stage needs the oils. Wipe/buff off and either leave it or seal it up. Of course, I personally would hit it with a polish / sealant or a polish then coating but whatever, it looks great.

Thought I would add in a quick update on Amazon's new Blink XT2 Camera system. In short, they did a great job with this system. I've had 5 cameras running on the exterior of our home and property with great success. I still run and compare them to our two ADT HD Cameras that are wifi as well but plugged in for power vs the lithium batteries on the Blink and honestly both are great but the edge in terms of interface goes to Blink. They have better IQ too as they are 1080p vs 720p. I run a mesh network so wifi coverage is awesome and with my router I can configure the perimeter it serves too so I can be assured of good range for the cameras. Reading through any set of reviews on Amazon is helpful but IMO most of the negative ones are due to poor networks. Our live view times are under 6-8 seconds and the motion is easily configurable so there are not only no false alarms but it catches things pretty darn fast with the right settings. Cliffs: If you're looking for a good camera system, it's a great value with excellent performance. Add in our 3 dogs and we pretty much know what's going on outside and as Kurt notes, so long as you are prepared as your own first responder, all should be good.

  12. Not my favorite details but I do them. http://www.reflectivesurfaces.net/interior-services.html Bring the beast over. I'll get her looking sharp.
  13. Just a quick hit as we ordered ebay replacements the other day and they are plug and play swap outs. Due in Saturday. can't see it here but his factory originals are cracking from inside out.
  14. LOL! Right? The cool thing is I've found the right combo of cleaner and steam that seems to really cut through things. It also helps that I was able to clean the matts outside the vehicle too. I wish the rest of the carpet just velcro'd in and could come out easily. Thankfully it was leather inside otherwise I'd have to charge twice as much as fabric in this thing would have been brutal. I think I lost 5lbs in water weight steaming it too
  15. This one was pretty bad inside and out but in the end, even miracles can be worked. 2007 Honda Oddy with over 200k miles of abuse from 4 kids, mom and a dad who really just gave up on it and tossed it my way as a possible last ditch effort. Let's just say for the small investment in getting it cleaned up, he's now saved the cost of a new vehicle as that purchase is going to be put off for another year or so. Before image: Swirled and scratched to the max Little compound, little polish mixed with a Flex 3401 polisher and some elbow grease The inside wasn't much better
  16. I have several openings in the evenings next week after the July 4th holiday weekend should anyone need to prep their cars for sale. This service is a one-day/evening turn-time. Drop it off late afternoon and pick it up early the next day or anytime that next day if it's more convenient. Thanks for helping keep my schedule on-track! Here are just a few examples of the results:
  17. ....that's not gonna buff out either
  18. Anytime. I know he was really apprehensive about what the outcome was going to be given he's never paid to have a car detailed before. I think it's safe to say based on his reaction that he now feels good about it all Now it's time to get your rides done
  19. Yep. Wipers are funny things. I've kicked around building the cost of new inserts into my pricing as I've also had people tell me their blades are new yet when I'm done with the coating they chatter. Yet when we replace the inserts it functions fine.
  20. I don't publish much but with this topic gaining ground fast, I thought I would put down some thoughts as they key to window coatings is in the prep. Thanks for viewing: Glass Coatings; Key lies in the Prep Work
  21. This vehicle is from a repeat customer who had his FX35 brought back last summer only this time he wanted me to take his New Model 3 and do what even Tesla doesn't do from the factory and that's make it "Glow" with my New Car Polish & Protect. Having done his Infiniti prior he wanted to same coatings and treatment. This Tesla is wearing 2 layers of CarPro Cquartz and topped with CarPro Gliss. Along the way I also also Ceramic Coated the glass including the entire roof, the wheels and of course the little bit of trim that is on it so that he doesn't have to mess with it going forward. Most new vehicles if left to dealers to prep for delivery get marred up and this one was no exception. That's okay as the prep work under this package makes short-order of those swirls and marring. One thing I see a lot on the various detailing forums or product reviews is around frustration when it comes to glass coatings. Just like with paint coatings it's all in the prep work. With glass, it's critical that the windows be entirely stripped and down to virgin glass. You'll see this when water actually clings to the glass and can in turn be cut right through with a water blade. That same principle of water bonding to it is what a coating will now do. Overall the car turned out fantastic and is dripping wet with deep black paint Upon pick up he took me for a spin to show off the power of the Dual Motor this thing has. The best part is definitely the instant torque and push back in your seat. Doesn't lesson until after 100mph. It's odd not feeling it shift gears. From there we stopped off and grabbed a couple shots with a bit of a softer background. Thanks again to Eric and others who trust in my work enough to send me such referrals. Much appreciated! -tim
  22. Fords interiors are way better too. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  23. So a referral from a fellow CR Member brought his wife's newer to them Crossover to me for a clean up. This is a 2015 with only 25k miles on it but it's exterior seemed rough. Upon discussing things with the owner they revealed that there were a series of hand prints that he said wouldn't come off. With that I felt what clearly was some over-spray of clear coat all over the vehicle. The owner wasn't aware of it having had any paint work but I wasn't going to be sure of what was done where until I had the vehicle cleaned. The vehicle was also loaded with hard water spots on the glass and aluminum trim around the windows and of course swirled out. Goal here given this was his first-ever paying for a detail was to start out smaller and go with my Basic Clean and Protect Package. The vehicle was loaded with swirls but that's okay and given it's a soccer mom vehicle that will see car washes, it's a good package for it. Upon inspection, I can see the rear bumper cover has been painted and poorly sprayed. Lack of flex agent and/or poor prep has paint cracking and flaking a bit thus I informed the customer, document it all and would not be touching the rear bumper cover with anything but a very light once over with the pad. All in all, it was rough. Here are a few cell shots of it before. Swirls and car wash marring was bad Handprint/smudges that are in the clear and won't simply wipe or clean off. Hard water spots on glass and trim The goal of my Basic Clean and Protect is to add gloss, remove oxidation and grime and while it's NOT a correction service, it will help smooth out fine blemishes and greatly reduce the appearance of swirls and imperfections. Lastly, it will seal and protect the paint with a season long protective layer. All in all I was able to achieve all of that and then some given it's pure black and is looking good even on a sunny day like today. Again, thank you to everyone on CR for sending referrals.
