I know you said you wanted to get out of the auto parts field - but if you could get a better paying full time position, would you be interested in staying in? Thanks all. I just found out the guy who built an addition for me almost 20 years ago is still working (I had guessed him to be retired) - between him and theses suggestions I think I can pin down a number.

I have not adjusted well to "downsizing" when I moved to a home with a much smaller garage several years back. Some might say I have too much stuff, and I do, but I still could use more space. After exploring several options, the wife has agreed it would be a good idea to consider building a 3 car (24x30) garage and converting the attached 2+ car garage to shop space (City of Columbus - no real option for keeping both as garages). Anyone have recommendations for a builder? I am looking at a frame structure, one double door, one single door, service door, siding on three sides and brick to match the house on the front. At this point I just need to get some estimates to see if this is the solution. Thanks.

Jason, You have "paid it forward" by helping others in your life. Allow some others to "pay it forward" for the day when they too may need a hand from some friends. As it has been said before - you don't have to accept assistance forever - but when you have a legitimate hardship (or many of them), accept a hand up to get back on your feet. It makes you no less of a man if you know you have done all you can and you are left in a position where this is the next step to insure your family's well being. The fact it is hard just speaks volumes about the type of individual you are. Most of us are just a few unfortunate instances from being put into a similar circumstance. I don't even want to get into the "why things happen to who" discussion - it is just life and you deal with it as it presents itself. You are the type of individual who having paid it forward will continue to pay it back in good deeds in the future. Despite the circumstances, feel blessed that folks think well enough of you to care because of how you have treated others. Be gracious and accept some help - be gracious in giving back when you can.

IN - Jason is a stand up guy. His family/situation is EXACTLY what government programs were designed for. Too bad the stigma placed on them by thousands of freeloaders has kept him from accepting a hand up to get back on track. I hope a little help from many along with some government aid will get him and his family through this tough time and get them back into a more stable financial situation.

1981 Datsun 280ZX, 5 spd, T-top car, burgundy w/red/burgundy interior. Was sitting in storage in a garage for 10+ years. Odometer shows 20 some thousand miles and is deemed inaccurate. Has a set of Riken wheels (gold centers) - but they have some rim damage, $60-$75 per wheel to repair @ Wheel Medic - tires are junk. Driver's side frame rail will need major work under drivers floor area. Some rust through in non structural areas in the rear. Rear hatch glass is broken out - but comes with spare hatch with good glass. Also comes with most of a black interior from a parts car and much misc (owner had a turbo Z that was parted out - he had most of the interior and a lot of misc mechanical that came with the car). We have not gotten it started yet - pumped out the tank, found most of the electronics work but ran out of time before we made much additional progress. Engine looks to be unmolested - all original plumbing / ac / etc is still intact, I purchased the car to put back together as an airport commuter - got a deal on a running/driving 944 instead. Will sell this one complete for $750 obo if someone wants it all or will part it out and scrap the tub if not. I do have a clear title for the car. Will consider third gen Camaro stuff in trade (see my post in Swap Meet section for details) Posting it here first before dealing with the CL idiots. I have some poor cell phone pics right now - PM me with a number and I can forward them on to you.

Home Depot on Sawmill had a Weber "Q" grill marked down/clearance. Maybe $159-$179 from $229-$249 - I wasn't paying too much attention, just thought I'd mention it since I saw the thread. I know they are small, but they are well made and would be good for a camp or apartment grill if you only have to cook for a couple of people.

Thanks - I am on thirdgen, just thought I would see if I could "buy local" first. I plan on most likely porting the plenum & intake myself, but would like the larger cast runners to work with. Same with the throttle body. My travel schedule has kept me from cruising the junkyards to look for this stuff, maybe over the holidays.... -

Thanks - but not real concerned on the wheel details. The guy I bought the car from originally had two more sets - but someone broke in and stole the first four they saw - 2 pairs of rear offset. Now I have a set of four w/front offset and need to pair them up with the rears.... Classic Industries has repops, but at $200 ea..... not so much. -

What he said. We chased a similar problem in the race car last season - bad battery gave us very similar alternator voltage readings to what you mentioned.

Turn off water, take control head apart, look for dirt/obstructions. If it is lime build up, soak internals in CLR. If water pressure is fine in the rest of the upstairs, even in the same bath at the sink, it would seem to be at the control head. All the internals should be removable through the front without disturbing the enclosure.

Sorry, no pics on this one yet - no CL listing. This is an advance listing of a work in progress in case somone wants a good winter project. This is an older Superkart, basically a custom laydown enduro frame with an early Yamaha TZ250 2 cyl, 2 stroke motor (very desirable motor). The kart has disc brakes all around and a paddle shifter set up. It is complete, motor turns over with good compression. Nice bodywork for its age. The kart will need: all the calipers rebuilt - probably master cylinders as well all new fuel lines all new water lines Some of the plumbing is still in place - it's just all dried and cracking Asking $1500 (value of the motor if parted out - see eBay)

2003 Italkart Supersonic 125cc shifter kart. CRS S-88 ICC motor, Tillet XL seat, Mychron 3 Gold with temp/tach/egt/speed - includes data download cable & software. Master cylinders will need rebuilt to be race ready. Looking for a couple of pair of REAR 16x8 mesh rims to complete sets for the race car (I wound up with 4 "front only" and need the "rear only" offsets to match them. High HP Street cars: Toyo R888 vs M/T ET Street Radial II

R888 seems to be typical of Toyo's - good handling track day tire. Get them hot they stick and wear great (compared to many other R comp tires). Very consistent over their life. As a street tire, you probably won't get them hot enough/keep them hot enough to really get them to work, and they're not really a drag tire. I have not run the MT tires, but generally they seem to be known for straight line grip, not so much for handling. If you want to go fast in a straight line - probably the better choice... -
Roaring Fork - if you don't have much time it's a great way to see some of the history of the area, close to town, but you'd never know it once you start the drive Cades Cove - as mentioned, great for the AM ride if you cycle, otherwise, it's a bit of a drive to get there, but another great area to do the loop and see the sites. Clingman's Dome - on a clear day it's a nice drive through the park and great views once you get there. It's kind of a "one neat thing" at the destination (vs. the two above). As mentioned, there's a lot of "junk" shops in downtown Gatlinburg, but we enjoyed walking the main part of town one evening just to "see the sites". We also enjoy the "Arts & Crafts" community/loop as the wife is an artist and enjoys seeing other artists work. Just depends on your interests and time available. For me - Roaring Fork is a "must do" whenever I go, Cade's Cove is on my list if we are going to the southside of the park for anything.
