  1. Wish he would have landed in Michigan. Want the rivalry to mean something again. Hoke could end up being pretty good though if that's the way they go. He's got about 80lbs. and 5 years on Harbaugh though so hopefully he doesn't take pulling a Dantonio to the next level and just croak on the sideline.
  2. Looks like everyone is accounted for and returning. Kinda shocked Boom will be back but we still get at least 3 games of Jordan, Jaamal and Roderick.
  3. Don't know about his draft stock being the best just because I don't know enough about what the NFL thinks of him (and he doesn't either it appears - he may not have filed paperwork or might still be waiting on it to come back). I do know that most NFL people have Brewster rated as the #1 center and of course they expect him to be another Nick Mangold. It's definitely one of those two though. I hope they all stick to their word and come back. Would be a heck of a story if these guys endured the suspensions that a lot of people (even outside of Ohio) thought were a bit severe and returned to an undefeated team and marched on to a national title.
  4. They definitely gave their word that they'd return. Going to be very ugly for any of these kids if they back out. Doing something like that demonstrates a character flaw and NFL people eat that shit up now. I doubt we'll have any word on the appeal before the deadline to declare so he'll probably have to decide blindly.
  5. Showing love to OSU in the national media isn't acceptable because of what we did for 2-3 years. Everyone was on our nuts from the end of 2005 through the end of 2006. Then Florida happened. Then 2007 people were kinda like OK it's a fluke... we get back to #1... Illinois happens. Then, the rest of the country shits the bed and we still get to the title game and LSU happens. Then within the next few games people see from OSU... 35-3 @ USC happens. That's 3-4 gigantic blemishes in a span of about 18 months. Fighting hard against a Texas team that maybe should have been in the title game that year did a bit to regain some respect. Losing @ Purdue ~9 months later lost that little bit we had regained. Now, since that Purdue game we have 1 loss in a night road game against a top 10 opponent and 2 BCS wins. If it weren't for this NCAA thing and the upcoming suspensions I think the media would be a little bit back on OSU's side at this point. I mean, nationally, unless you're biased, it doesn't make much sense to be loving OSU the way people were pre-Florida. Not yet. Once the kids who do return serve their suspensions and we start off 3-0 or 4-0 without them and they come back and we steamroll the B1G and go to another BCS game, possibly the national title game... media will be back with us.
  6. Well, aside from the fact that the SEC just this season got themselves a winning record against the Big 10 in bowl games this decade, you're spot on...lol. Big 10 vs. SEC in bowl games last 10 years was like 16-14 in favor of the Big 10 and with the horrible performances by the rest of our conference on New Year's Day the SEC took the lead. 8/10? Ummm... no. And Cowherd is great. He knows that picking on OSU/Ohio will get everyone else to like him and get us to call in complaining...lol. He does like OSU though. Big OSU booster gave him his first job ever in sports out in Vegas. He just works his audience like any good radio host. I remember tuning in to Cowherd for the first time in 2005 or 2006 and it was like a local show... dude was LOVING OSU. That's not acceptable anymore nationally so he has to go the other way.

    Mallett is

Ehhh... I have to go with Luck. He's smart and doesn't freak out when things don't go his way. Mallett has a laser rocket arm and can throw the ball over them mountains but he clearly doesn't have it mentally yet.
  8. Brady Hoke incoming most likely... he could be successful. Tressel wasn't exactly a big splash hire either and he's done OK...lol.
  9. All of these "journalists" who figured OSU was going to lose another game to the SEC even though we "cheated."
  10. Lots of those kinds of articles going around this morning. Which was to be expected. They all real, real mad.

    Mallett is

Was hilarious watching him throw little temper tantrums every time he ended up on his ass. ESPN did this big story on him for one of their big SEC games this season about how he was so good at controlling his emotions and not getting too high or too low compared to how bad he was with that in 2009. Oops...
  12. I've heard from a lot of Michigan fans that RR refuses to leave the defensive side of the ball alone for whatever reason and tinkers with everything. He just keeps firing his DC's when HE fails...lol. Crazy game tonight. It's incredible how every single member of the "Tat 5" contributed big time. Pryor the MVP, Posey with 70+ yards and a long TD, Boom with a TD and some nice runs, Adams part of the OL performance giving up 0 sacks to a team with 37 on the season (I believe) then even the backup DE Solomon Thomas with the game-sealing INT.
  13. As an OSU fan, I want Harbaugh in Ann Arbor. It's getting boring and we need a guy who is as big a dick as he is to be our villain. I'd love to see how Tressel would react to some of the stuff Harbaugh does.
  14. Opened at TCU -3 and stayed there despite people hammering it for Wisconsin. Bad move on Vegas' part in the end...lol. All the people who bet their homes on Wisconsin +3 had to watch TCU win but at least they made their money.
  15. I turned the game off when I saw how they were lined up for the 2-pointer. Pathetic job by their coaching staff today. The players made some mistakes early in the game that kept TCU ahead by a couple but the middle of the game the coaches shit down their legs. They should have been pounding all night and they kept trying stupid, cute shit. As for the other stuff, aside from MSU being 100% uncompetitive against Bama, everything went as planned. No real surprises... OSU was the only Big 10 team favored going into the bowl season so if anything we've already overachieved with 2 wins...lol.
  16. They weren't the #1 class overall on any site. They were 4th on Scout and Rivals and 6th on ESPN. And Brewster was a 1st team All-American according to the Football Writers Association of America and 2nd team All-Big 10 according to the conference coaches. Adams was 1st team All-Big 10 according to the conference coaches. Posey and Pryor were honorable mentions on the All-Big 10 list according to conference coaches. The media had Brewster and Adams as 1st team All-Big 10 then Pryor and Posey again as honorable mentions. I mean, if you want all of these kids to all be All-Americans then you've overhyped them way too much in your own head. You're using the wrong qualifications IMO. As I pointed out earlier, out of 16 kids (if Wells does indeed make it back into OSU), 13 will be starters or serious contributors next season. 8-9 of them will definitely make it to the NFL. Still waiting for you to find a more productive class with this kind of hit rate under Tressel...
  17. Live in Pickerington and our taxes actually went down. Like $16. Yessssssss. Gonna get me like 4 steak quesadillas at Taco Bell.
  18. So, like I said, 8-9... that's still 8. Out of basically a 16-man class. With the potential to have 5 more. Find me a better class under Tressel. You say hype so maybe you overhyped them in your head, I don't know. They've lived up to the hype collectively IMO. Individually some of them still have a bit to prove but as a group they've been incredible.
  19. BTW - Tressel confirmed the "agreements" regarding suspended players having to pledge to come back next season if they wanted to make it down to NOLA. The players are all there so it looks like they're all coming back. Still think there's a chance there was a different agreement with Boom. He could very well be supplanted as the starter by Rod Smith. Apparently Rod Smith is Jesus.
  20. Yeah, no matter who does end up in the NFL, like you said, they bring home an NC next season, especially now, they've done their job. But the 8-9 guys from the 2008 class that I think are locks to spend some amount of time in the NFL... Pryor, Posey, Brewster, Adams, Shugarts, Stoneburner, Williams, Howard and Sabino. You're right about Shugarts' foot thing but he's toughed it out this long already, I don't see him calling it quits before he at least takes his shot at the NFL. Sabino redshirted this year specifically so he could have 2 years to start at MLB. I read yesterday that Klein needs to "stop enjoying college life so much." So I don't see him beating out Sabino just yet and you don't start at MLB at OSU for 2 years with Sabino's measurables and not get an NFL shot. So that's 9 guys. From basically a 16-man class. And several of the unlisted guys still have some time to earn a shot in the NFL... Sweat could get stuck in that 3rd LB spot we don't use so much outside of Big 10 play/when we have a healthy guy at the star position but he's got a shot. Goebel still has time to do something. OJ is a tremendous athlete and could lock down a safety spot next season. Then who knows if Keith Wells does indeed make it back what he'll be able to do. That's 4 more with a shot. I'd dare you to find a better class under Tressel...
  21. Apparently the players did sign something with Tressel saying that they will return next season to allow them to play in the bowl game. Nothing legally binding but still even a little more concrete than "my word." And I don't know, that 2008 class has done pretty well. 20 kids, 1 never made it to campus, 4 transferred (but 1, Keith Wells, is set to return next season). So 4 of the kids are not taking up scholarship space. So out of 16 kids (Wells included) 13 will be starting or making serious contributions next season. That's a damn good hit rate for a single class. I think 8-9 kids are locks for the NFL down the road.
  22. That was embarrassing for the Big 12. That was a team that had a 6-2 conference record, tied with 4 other teams in the Big 12. Iowa was 4-4 in the Big 10 and kicked pretty much every RB off their team for the bowl game and was missing an absolutely electric player in Johnson-Koulianos due to his off field issues. Hopefully a sign of things to come for the B1G TEN this bowl season.
  23. "Insiders" at Scout. And I think maybe what Posey's mom may have been talking about with the summer stuff could just determine whether or not they get their full scholarship benefits even over the summer (living expenses and whatnot). I'm pretty sure I read over the past couple days that they definitely don't get stipends. They get funds to pay for living off-campus but it's no more than the value determined by OSU of living in a dorm.
  24. I agree it's their stuff to sell. Hell, the NCAA won't even let them sell the hundreds of dollars in bowl swag they get every year. They can't have a job, they can't sell the stuff they are given, they don't get stipends, I don't know what the NCAA expects some of these kids to do. And as for players coming back or not, we should have a pretty good idea a week from now. Apparently if these kids play in the Sugar Bowl it means they've given their commitment to return next season. If they haven't done that, they won't play. Boom might have a little more leeway because he's close to graduating anyways and is a 4th year junior. He's just waiting for his NFL evaluation right now. So really we just have to look for Pryor and Adams in the game next Tuesday and we should know.
  25. Yeah, with what happened with the tattoo thing you can't really discount anything right now. Lots of the same people who are saying everything is fine with this story were saying everything was fine with the tattoo story. Gene Smith and Shelly Poe coming out and denying it all is a little different. I don't think Tressel is a guy who would jump ship. He's going to leave this program better than he found it. It's been a rough 3 days since the kids went home for Christmas... now they all get back together tomorrow for the first time since the suspensions were handed out. Going to learn a lot about guys like Pryor from what happens the rest of the way.
