  1. The best OSU insider out there hinted that this might happen months ago. Said Meyer was not happy and his health was much worse than anyone anticipated. Word is he'll be moving back to Ohio now for this rest or break or whatever it is. Lots of Florida fans seem to think this may have been the plan all along. He wanted one of his guys (Strong, now at Louisville, or Mullen, now at Mississippi State) to take over last year and Florida didn't want that. Stoops declined the offer to go over from Oklahoma and they talked Meyer into sticking around. Now both have a year of head coaching under their belts and Mullen, after a pretty successful year at MSU, can come back as the HC and maybe bring Strong back with him. Good news for OSU in all of this is current Florida commit Ryan Shazier was thinking about visiting a week or so ago but Florida said if he visited he'd be done with Florida and his mom didn't like that so he didn't visit. Luckily OSU happened to be at Shazier's school today visiting his teammate (and OSU commit) Jeremy Cash. Meyer steps down, Shazier gets an official visit set up for next week. Probably going to switch to OSU. And it could mean OSU also ends up with another Florida kid, Jabari Gorman. Then it improves our chances with 2-3 other kids as well. Pretty big effect this could end up having on us.
  2. Man, I bought about 200ft. of Cat-5 cable on eBay maybe 6-7 years ago and was looking at redoing some cables since I recently had U-Verse installed and while I've used Monoprice plenty for a/v cables I completely dismissed them for networking cables and was looking at eBay again. That's beast mode. About to buy 1,000 ft.
  3. T-Wolves lost in the western conference finals. So... I'm right there. And the Bucks never made it past the eastern conference finals so I'm right again. Where is it flawed? What I was saying is that Lebron made it to an NBA finals in Cleveland without adding other superstars or joining them. KG, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce never did that. Lebron had already done more than any of them on their own then he gave up.
  4. There's a glaring difference here. Neither KG, Ray Allen nor Paul Pierce ever made it to an NBA Finals on their own. They never had the best record in the NBA 2 years in a row (don't think they ever had the best record in the league). And the biggest one of all... they never aspired to be Michael Jordan. Kirks is 100% right. He had the opportunity to be this generation's Michael Jordan and he ran away. He may win some titles in Miami (Wade already has - another big difference from the Boston situation) but he'll never be on the same level as Jordan because of this decision. And I never liked Jordan.
  5. I feel just fine about the Celtics. It's the NBA regular season. Boston is an older team so they get up for games they feel like getting up for (the 2 games against Miami so far this season for example, games against LA, etc.) then just chill the rest of the season knowing they need to save energy and the playoffs are all that matter. Boston was one of New Jersey's 15 or so wins last season and ended up being one of Kendrick Perkins' knees away from their 18th NBA title. Maybe we'll see you guys in the playoffs when it actually matters... but probably not. And it was nice seeing Boobie knock down that shot after faking Lebron out then giving him a stare. That was about the most hostile thing (outside of Mo just ignoring Lebron pre-game) a Cavs player did last night. Good for him but it's still pathetic. Lebron is probably cracking up thinking how easy he got off. Why do you think he went off in the 3rd quarter? He went into halftime probably thinking... "That's all they got? After 5 months to dwell on it... that's all they got? Glad I left 'em."
  6. I post on Rivals but on the pay boards with this same user name. I have over 9,000 posts there in about 4 years...lol. You're right about arguing with idiots though. Rivals has the worst Ohio State coverage of any OSU site out there now (Scout, which already had the best OSU football coverage for both regular team stuff and recruiting, stole Rivals' basketball guy a couple weeks ago) and I'll actually be canceling in a few months when my subscription is up. The only OSU fans left on Rivals (and OSU fans in general are pretty awful) are the worst of the worst. Absolute psychos who want to fire any coach whose name they can remember after every single game, win or lose. It's great entertainment but there's zero info anymore so they've got to go.
  7. Was a truly pathetic display by the Cavs' players. Mo Williams wasn't friendly with him. And an assistant coach told Lebron to shut the fuck up as he was chatting it up during some free throws or a time out. Other than that it was like a family get together. Lebron should have been given the same treatment Mo Williams gave him by every single person on the Cavs and someone should have leveled Lebron on at least one drive to the bucket. Not only do the Cavs lack talent now but last night they showed they lack heart.
  8. We created this SEC hype. Think about it... the way Florida beat us in the 2006 title game is the sole reason the SEC is thought of now as it is. Did anyone watch SEC football this season? They are TERRIBLE. The teams with the most talent (Florida, LSU and Alabama) won't even be in BCS bowls. South Carolina is probably the most complete team in the conference and they have 2 great skill players in Jeffery and Lattimore but that's it. There are no insane defenses in that conference this season like you normally see and a kid who will probably eventually be ruled ineligible ran all over everyone. This was absolutely the year to steal a national title (or, in Auburn's case, buy one) and we blew it with one bad quarter of play.
  9. Do you post on Rivals/subscribe to the OSU site there? I have for the last few years but am canceling when this subscription is up since they lost their basketball guy to Scout who already has all the best OSU football stuff. And people who don't like Ohio State refer to us as O$U...lol. I've never seen OSUmw on Rivals personally.
  10. He was an ass the way he left Cleveland but as a Celtics fan living in Ohio it's great not having to hear all their bandwagon fans thinking they're good anymore. Last night was the nail in the coffin.
  11. OSU won uneventfully in '98 (after the devastating MSU loss of course), also won in '94 and tied in '92. Those were the only non-losses for Cooper. I am a little more cautious to say Harbaugh would be a slam dunk hire. A coach I was discussing earlier today reminded me of him... Greg Schiano. He had Rutgers flying high for 2-3 seasons and where are they now? They disappeared like the rest of the Big East. Schiano should have gotten out after he lost guys like Teel and Rice. Much like Harbaugh should probably get out once Luck is gone to go along with Gerhardt being gone from last season. But given Harbaugh's pedigree he could very well be a great hire. Just being reminded of Schiano and how much of a hot commodity he was 3-4 years ago made me start to reconsider it being a sure thing though.
  12. Yeah, there was a quote going around where Cam told MSU that he wanted to go there but "the money was too much" at Auburn. And at least one college football media outlet (College Football News) is suggesting that USC should sue the NCAA now.
  13. So the NCAA says Cam's dad definitely shopped him around for $180k+, that is definitely a violation and... the only punishment is that Cam's dad now has "limited" access to the Auburn program. Some people think it's not over but this is a joke of a ruling if that's the end of it. It basically tells any family member of a highly rated prospect to go out and ask every booster you can for money (that way the school won't get in trouble) and in return you will push your son, nephew, whatever to their school. Spielman and Hooley on 97.1 The Fan today were pretty much like, "Hey, Braxton Miller's dad, time to start going around asking for money. There's pretty much no consequences."
  14. Yep. My virus software is built into my brain. It is called CommonSense™.
  15. lol... the guy getting 1mbps up with his mobile phone... that's faster than RoadRunner Turbo. Gonna go kill myself.
  16. http://sports.espn.go.com/dallas/ncf/news/story?id=5862368 Geography be damned! lol Big East is desperately trying to both raise their reputation in football and keep their conference from falling apart. The big rumors are still out there that Rutgers and ND will eventually join the Big 10 (along with Missouri and Maryland) with Rutgers being part of the next pair to be announced (spring 2011 along with Missouri). Few really funny things here... Boise St., Fresno St. and Nevada are all slated to leave the WAC to join the MWC. The MWC in this past year has now lost BYU (independent), Utah (Pac 10) and now TCU (Big East). Their 3 premier teams are now gone and Boise is just moving from one crappy conference to another now. If Boise, Nevada, Utah, TCU and BYU were all in the same conference they'd probably be able to take the Big East's auto-bid which is up for re-evaluation when? 2013... 1 year after TCU joins the Big East...haha.
  17. TCU to the... Big East. Looks like they'll be getting automatic bids to BCS bowls for years to come even if they lose 4-5 games a season! Stick it to the man, Horned Frogs!
  18. Was kinda cool that the play ended up being taken down to an 89 yard run tying the record for the longest play from scrimmage at OSU set in 1942... the team which we were honoring today. Made it a little less gay.
  19. Alabama has 3 losses and is finishing 4th in their division. That's not happening. Looks like it's most likely going to be Arkansas. Not a very exciting, big name opponent but a shot to get the SEC monkey off our backs.
  20. Possibly Harbaugh. Played at Michigan and has made Stanford into a top 10 program. If they can get Harbaugh they'll drop Rodriguez in a heartbeat. If they can't I'm not sure who they'd go after if they got rid of him. Yeah, that's not happening. They're playing their final game of the season against a 1-10 team right now...lol.
  21. Call Able for your roof, 444-ROOF!
  22. Just ordered a 21.5" Acer LCD monitor on Newegg for the office for $99.99. Boss (aunt...lol) said she'd cut me a check for it. Only $30 less than its normal price but whatever. My $15 craigslist CRT that I picked up in the Buckeye Lake McDonald's parking lot and have been using at work for the last 3-4 years is eating my eyes.
  23. Yeah 240 vs. 120 isn't a big deal. As long as it isn't 60 you'll be fine. Samsung and Sony are the very best LCD manufacturers out there right now so I'd go with the Samsung.
