Planning on heading down to the Dragon area, Monday the 10th. Going to stick to 2 lanes and camping as much as possible. Probably camp at the gap store for a couple of nights.
I ran into a younger guy from the Dayton area at the marathon/ Wendy’s in Zanesville on my way home. He was riding a new BMW F900. Nice bike for a beemer.
I took my usual route down to Zanesville and headed out 146. Jumped on 284 south, it was in bad shape from mowing and storm debris, plus a lot of gravel. Took 78 to 536 south. The first 2/3rds of 536 was nice, after that there were two spots that were one lane from construction. Stopped at the locks in Hannibal and then headed north on 800. 350 miles for the day. The bike turned over 95,000 miles today.
A lot of the FJR guys love the PR 4s and PR5s. I tried a PR4 on the rear a few years ago, hated it. It just felt hard and disconnected from the road. I got a few more miles than I usually do on my go to Bridgestone T30 and T31s. The year that we stayed in Townsend, I got a PR3 for the rear from PJ to get me home. I loved that tire, it felt like a Bridgestone and lasted for 4600 miles.
I did ride it Friday, start to finish. Overall it was pretty clean. The section south Ringgold is wonderful with the fresh pavement. I took 144 back to 329, hit 377 and 78 west through Glouster. 340 miles for the day.
When I started the thread for the epic ride, I was hoping to have a big turnout like we used to have for the epic rides. When it became obvious that it was not going to be a big turnout for it, I made other plans. That is why I asked @2talltimto hide it.
