What American accent do you have?

Was pretty suprised how well it picked me. I've lived in quite a few different places, Texas and California being the states I've spent the most time in. It's funny, my gf and I were just talking about accents yesterday and I we both commented how I have verbal tendencies from different areas of the US. Then, I happened to come across this real quick, yet interesting test. I was very careful how I answered each one and put some thought into it.

Here's mine.

 

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

 

I didn't get the chart on here but my West and South bars were much higher than the rest.

Midland again, but then again, I've picked up little bits of New York City, New Jersey, Philly, and a BIG whack of Appalachian, just from being a trucker for a few years. There's days when the hillbilly is so strong you'd think I was from some little shitball WV town like Oceana.

When I lived in St Pete a couple years ago, I had two people ask me if I'm from Ohio. Then, after wondering how the hell they would know that, they said it was my accent. WTF?

I change how I say things depending on where I am. Well maybe not really how I say them but what I say. I'll say soda down here, but pop up in Ohio. When I used to travel overseas I would try and pick-up/use what the locals were saying.
