I've never been a fan of big dial watches. I'm more of a fan of utilitiaran designs and simple lines. It's made in China, but the factory was set up under contract by some Swiss. It always bugged me that they choose those kinds of names for their watches: When you make something to be proud of, put your name on it, not a misspelled European marque. And it's not new technology, not even close. This is a balance wheel on my 1903 Waltham. Note it's a Bi-metal, steel and brass... and it's barely over a millimeter thick, both layers combined. I still don't know how they did that. It's bi-metal because it expands and contracts with temperature changes, and counters the temp change effects that happen elsewhere in the watch. evan9381 Posted February 5, 2010 Report Share Posted February 5, 2010 i know i had a pic, but i cant find it...ive got 4 fossil watches...all very simple looks...i dont like the real busy watches like some here have posted. i think i bought 1 of them, g/f bought me the other 3 over the years. i like them because they're <$100, but on all 4 of them, the batteries need replaced. edit - found it...its a crappy pic...the far left is a pretty basic silver face/silver band, 2nd one is black face/silver band, 3rd is gunmetal/gunmetal and the 4th is a white face/silver band... the 2nd and 4th ones are the same watch, different colors...i couldnt decide which i liked more so i got one on valentines day and the other on my birthday in june 3rd one is my favorite...one of these days im going to stop looking at it sitting there and take it somewhere to get a new battery. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/IMG_0301.jpg?t=1265349651 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If the notches on the back are devisible by three, you can just get one of these. I actually made a tool for my Bulova out of a hunk of brass, used a file.
