Timepiece that is.

I love watches. One of these days I will break down and buy a Submariner until then I sport a Citizen bl870 eco drive. It is a great diving watch.

But when I get around to it I'm going to get one of these, nothing special, but I loved the design from the moment I saw it. I've never been a fan of big dial watches. I'm more of a fan of utilitiaran designs and simple lines. I'd get a Movado at some point if I didn't feel like a douche for wearing one.

Daily worn:

Wittnauer, unknown model name. Loved the style, had to have it when I saw it. Thinnest and lightest watch I own, keeps great time:

My Fiance just got me some Stuhrling Winchester Elite, skeleton mechanical. I definately enjoy staring aimlessly at the movement. Its not really a very expensive one, but it does the job

Yeha, I know they make some nice watches. I love their designs generally speaking. Just feels a little... cliche at this point.

Be a connoisseur, buy something classic.

Electrical engineer? Get some electrical history on that wrist:

Some of the Chinese watchmakers are actually cranking out properly nice timepieces, and this is one of them. It's made in China, but the factory was set up under contract by some Swiss. It always bugged me that they choose those kinds of names for their watches: When you make something to be proud of, put your name on it, not a misspelled European marque.

That is nice! I like skeleton watches. Watch makers amaze me at how the make the parts so small.

And it's not new technology, not even close.

This is a balance wheel on my 1903 Waltham. Note it's a Bi-metal, steel and brass... and it's barely over a millimeter thick, both layers combined. I still don't know how they did that.

It's bi-metal because it expands and contracts with temperature changes, and counters the temp change effects that happen elsewhere in the watch.

i know i had a pic, but i cant find it...ive got 4 fossil watches...all very simple looks...i dont like the real busy watches like some here have posted.

i think i bought 1 of them, g/f bought me the other 3 over the years. i like them because they're <$100, but on all 4 of them, the batteries need replaced.

edit - found it...its a crappy pic...the far left is a pretty basic silver face/silver band, 2nd one is black face/silver band, 3rd is gunmetal/gunmetal and the 4th is a white face/silver band...

the 2nd and 4th ones are the same watch, different colors...i couldnt decide which i liked more so i got one on valentines day and the other on my birthday in june

3rd one is my favorite...one of these days im going to stop looking at it sitting there and take it somewhere to get a new battery.

Do the fossils need a special tool to replace the battery? Check out Harbor Freight; I got a case wrench and a press there for about $20.

InoeAmirite?

dunno...havent even tried to do it...the last one that the battery went dead, the glass also had some scratches on it, and fossil has a thing where i can send it in and for $27, they'll replace the battery, band, clasp, and ship it back...basically they only reuse the case. im not going to send them all in though for batteries only. ill google around for the tool and how hard it is to change it out
