am i the only one wondering why a 4 cyl needs a puck clutch?

Guess so....maybe because no company makes a clutch for a 4clyinder that can handle any sort of power in a normal configuration lol. Look at that clutch for example, its rated to 575hp and over 400ft/lbs of tq, yet couldnt hold 16lbs on a 62mm turbo for more then 1 pass. That was my only pass ever made on 16lbs and that clutch, all other passes were on 6-10. Now maybe some company makes one that holds up for evo's, sti's, dsm's that isn't a puck, but for a Honda its puck or bust. The sad part is the only option left is a twin disk.

Get a heavier pressure plate.

I have rocked 2600/6 puck combos north of 700whp and 500ft lbs....

lol

my thoughts too lol. I got 2k miles of use out of that clutch, thats with the first 1k being babied due to my transmission being freshly rebuilt and not wanting to risk breaking anything. It saw 23 track passes total, 1 on 16lbs as I mentioned. Needless to say i will never buy another competition clutch product again.

This was N/A on a 275 drag radial. Drove 80 miles to the track and 80 miles home with the top down. :D Goal all summer was a 10 on motor, I'll get it set up for spray at the track day. :)

Good job man 9.60s is moving out

Thanks, I am looking at a couple more car setup changes. This was on a used set of Hoosier slicks that are taller and have 3 inches more roll out than the M/T slicks. The Hoosier's are a little too narrrow for the new rims so I am looking at a new set in the spring that will match up better now that I know the results. Also I may make a gear change as we are still to far over the peak HP RPM at the traps.
