I know its 4 quarts (3.8) but what kind of fluid do you guys suggest using? Royal Purple Synchromesh? Redline? GM Stuff? Whatever? DKilbourne
I have used Pennzoil syncromesh in mine. Works fine.
MrMeanGreen
That you post in the correct section. Tech questions go in the tech section. This is like #3 for you in the last month.
Cordell
I'd use either Red Line MTL, or Royal Purple Syncromesh, I've had good experiences with either. GM syncromesh is a good fluid as well.

I used Pennzoil Synchromesh, supposedly same as the GM Synchromesh. Felt good.
starkmaster03
I've used only the Royal Purple in my T-56 and haven't had any issues.

Richard Cranium
You can get the service manual from the Tremec website. Looks like you need to create an account on their forum. http://tremec.com/performance/forum/showthread.php?t=12 Unless you have anything upgraded I'd go with whatever the factory recommends. It was quite a while ago but I remember reading something about problems with Royal Purple in stock T56s.
Buckeye1647545503
I just talked to Tremec Friday about my tko and they told me they recommend Gm syncromesh

Browning
isn't that the same transmission as what's in say a 91 s10? I used ATF
Tripleskate
Changing to Redline gear oil was like night and day on my car compared to OEM Mazda trans fluid or GM-style synchromesh fluid. It's about $40 or so for the "big" one size will do it jug. Been running it for ~30,000 miles with next to no gear grinds or anything out of the ordinary.
