What would you consider yourself politically?

I would like this to turn into a poll, but I'm wondering what people would consider themselves here (democrat, republican, independant, ect...).

I personally take more democratic views, but there are things that I agree with republicans with, such as abortion in cases of incest or rape, and gun control (shouldn't be as controlling as some want it to be).

I'm curious to see what the majority of CR consider themselves to be.

I claim independent, leaning towards the right. I'm fiscally conservative and slightly liberal on social issues - I don't believe it is justifiable or even possible to try to legislate morality. I believe people (and businesses) should be free to make their own choices as long as they don't harm others. I think the role of government should primarily be the protection of liberty.

Took the quiz linked in another thread at iSideWith.com

Which seems mostly inline but I don't think I side that much with the current state of the Republican Party. Also, I think Ron Paul is a loon.

I took that isidewith test or whatever and also got Gary Johnson, I guess he's a libertarian?

But yeah, I like to think of myself as fiscally conservative and socially liberal.

Although it seems these days neither party are fiscally conservative

I would fall on the libertarian side. I want the freedom our founders fought for (just extended to all men and women instead of white, male, property owners), the government out of our wallets, and out of the bedrooms of consenting adults. I want the states via proper small government, and representation, and respecting natural law, to decide for themselves all of the issues the federal government has usurped, thus stripping states of their sovereignty. Ya know, all the stuff we were suppose to have in the first place.

Took that test...got Romney, Paul, and Johnson as my top 3. Not surprised since I generally lean Republican. Although Democrat, Green, Libertarian, and "Ohio Voters" were all above 50% as well.

Fuck politics though.

The republican platform does NOT make concessions in cases of rape or incest. Romney says he does, Ryan definitely does not.
