PRD2BDF
What NEW car that is unorthodox but you just can't help but like it? I like the Fiat 500L. I would rock a manual one dressed in black. http://s27.photobucket.com/albums/c161/spedponcho/Mobile%20Uploads/?action=view¤t=image_zps60d0b80f.jpg
POS VETT
Since when is a Fiat 500L unorthodox ? If it was anything, it's derived from an orthodox design.

zeitgeist57
Was going to say the same thing: most new cars are rolling appliances with a carefully thought-out design formula. That being said, the new car that tickles my fancy (and is a little bit off the beaten path) is the Ford Fiesta ST.
Draco-REX
Define "unorthodox". As the industry sits, the Tesla S is pretty unorthodox, and high on my "want to own" list.
Orion
Are we including cars not made in America? Cars of a certain Rarity? I always dug the Merkur XR4Ti, myself.

PRD2BDF
I define unorthodox cars as cars that you wouldn't own because if a certain feature or the way it looks. I don't expect the fiat 500L to be a hit because of the way it looks, it doesn't conform to the typical SUV design.

ShoMeSomeFun
Ive always wanted a Chrysler Conquest, not sure if that falls into this category. For a newer car a Hyundai Genesis. It seems hard to find people confident in Hyundai products or at least paying a large amount for them.
Orion
The problem with making this about new cars is that there isn't a lot to choose from on the "unorthodox" tip. They all do the same shit the same way (save the Tesla, which does the same shit, but now with 100% less gasoline! Yay!). So, I think that I would really dig a manual, awd diesel with creature comforts and looks that won't make me barf. That would be unorthodox. Mr. Jones
it doesn't conform to the typical SUV design. You mean like the variety of un-mini mini's now? The marketing of the 500L & Mini Countryman etc. are almost laughable. (Profitable thanks to idiots, but laughable). Hey guys, check out our cool querky throwback "small" (2x the size of the old one) car. All the hipsters run out and buy them and feel all cool and special when they spec a "unique" interior color and led scheme. When hipsters get children/dogs/fat they start looking around. Hey guys, here is the new Coolsmallvehicle XL/500/Massive edition. Everything that you loved about your small car taken away, but with similar lines and name. It's like herding cattle.. Doc1647545523
Hmmm, I'm having a hard time coming up with a NEW model from an established, major manufacturer that is both unorthodox but also cool enough to admire in a quirky way. There are plenty of them from the small companies, though. I agree with the Tesla choice. Also, coming in six months is the Range Rover Evoque Convertible. Two doors, ragtop SUV, possibly coming with AWD and the Terrain Response System of the non-convertible Evoque. Rumor has it that a 9-speed automatic transmission is being considered. About the closest thing to this now is the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet, but I don't consider that an off-road vehicle. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/2015_land-rover_range-rover-evoque-convertible_convertible-suv_base_rq_oem_1_500_zps854ca697.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/2015_land-rover_range-rover-evoque-convertible_convertible-suv_base_i_oem_1_500_zps33ee4089.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/2015_land-rover_range-rover-evoque-convertible_convertible-suv_base_fq_oem_1_500_zpse1b5058a.jpg I admit, it's a guilty pleasure for me.
