Chief8one
I figured it would be a fun little thread. Lets hear about CR peeps first car stories. Mine I bought a 1980 LTD 5.0l with 109,000 miles (carbed) rust bucket for 250 bucks when I was 15. I'm not sure what the law is now, but at the time 15.5 you could get your permit. Anyway, I remember Mom driving me to the farm where it was at.. I instantly fell in love. It was baby blue with rust everywhere, no hub caps, bumpers with rust holes... PERFECT! Did doughnuts for about 30 minutes and some make shift rallycross/drifting in an old field. SOLD. I dove the car for a bit in high school which I was the odd man out. I was never a rich kid and went to a private school where everyone had new (2000) Cherokees and what not, but for some reason everyone made fun of it/loved it. Lots of fun driving around with friends for no reason, talking and being teens. (Gas was .88 cents a gallon then btw) I even put "dingle berries" (cotton ball things that hang.. think Cheech and Chong) in it. Red glow dice.... Good times. I miss that bucket. Only reason I stopped driving it was a rich friend of mine sold me his 91 escort 1.9l 5 speed for 50 bucks and it was 10 x faster. Sorry for the bad grammar

B3NN3TT
When I was a kid, my grandparents bought a new car and they gave their old one to my mom - a 1976 Mercury Comet with a 302. That's the car I inherited years later when I got a driver's license. 4 months later, I oversteered into a ditch and flipped it. Looked a lot like this one: http://25.media.tumblr.com/30c844999830c6424303786b8ccd778c/tumblr_mu6pi9U3ks1qzut9po1_1280.jpg http://assets.blog.hemmings.com/wp-content/uploads//2010/06/comet.jpg After that I bought a silver 1980 Chevette for $300. 4-door, 4-speed manual. Drove that thing until it hit 200,000 miles and sold it - for $300. No depreciation! Looked a lot like this one, except silver, and with a roof rack: http://www.classiccarstodayonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/Chevrolet-1980-Chevette.jpg Edited January 27, 2015 by B3NN3TT

mrs.cos
I had a 81 Foxbody mustang that was a 4spd automatic. The starter didnt work right and I would have to smack it with a hammer while trying to start it for it to run. (it was a little copper ball pin hammer) Such a pile of shit, but it ran and i only paid like $300 bucks for it.

Rally Pat
1990 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale with the FE3 package, it was free from a family friend. I actually don't remember what happened to the car, if it blew up or what, but its what I drove until I switch to my dad's GMC Vandura for a while and sold that to get my first sports car, the 87 MK1 MR2 that I had.
