recommend me a hitch and bike rack please

Looking to carry 4 full size bikes on the back of our minivan.

Please point me towards a good hitch and more importantly a nice bike rack if you have one to recommend.

I had a nice bike rack on my SUV years ago but that was a much larger version than what will likely be mounted on a minivan.

Insight appreciated.

I prefer Saris products, well designed and lifetime warranty. You can get them locally at roll: on Lane Ave, Polaris Pkwy, or Main St.

Thanks everyone.

I'll look to get a hitch installed and will likely go with the following as it's compatible with our van and a smaller hitch.

Axis Steel 4-Bike

I have this unit which is a lower end alternative:

I did have to make some mods to it in order to make it fit the way I wanted and up until now I've only hauled 2 full size and 2 youth bikes with it. They also have a model for smaller receivers.

Eh a hitch is a hitch. I went with a cheap Curt, no issues. I have a similar bike rack as above, haven't used it yet though.

Getting an REI Visa card for this and signing up for their membership might be a good idea.

They give you 100-125 for getting their Visa and you get a dividend which you can redeem for cash back in Jul of the following year.

Also check out leftlanesports and the clymb for good deals.

Thule has a few different options and they're good quality.

I have the older version of this, and has worked great for many years. I like the feature that is folds forward so you can open the tailgate, I've even done it with the bikes on the rack during a trip.

The Saris one where you put the wheels in is a very good choice too, a few of my friends have that one and it's very easy to use.
