smokin5s
Calculate the cost of gas vs the cost of a beater then man up and drive the truck. 130 dollars to fill the tank last week... can get to the cost of a beater pretty quickly
smokin5s
Guys you are taking this to a new level you cant just settle and beat.....her But yeah idk. Is selling your truck and buying a better MPG truck a possibility? Thinking like an older ranger/etc. Had a 2.3 5spd Mazda/Ranger that got around 30mpg thing was amazing. I only keep the truck in the first place is because I tow stuff... until recently it maybe drove 2k miles a year.
ODoyle
It sounds like the wife should have been traded in with the car...
Turbs3000
spend 5-6k, but an ok beater and resell in spring at $1000 over whatever you paid. the auto market this spring is going to be out of control. Green Bastard
Either do what Turbs said and get a beater to resell in the spring, or do what Cordell said and if she says you can't use her car then drive the Avalanche. Or you could toss new tires on the convertible and drive it (just hope you don't have much driving to do through the winter).
evan9381
If your wife doesn't work, it sounds like you own "her" car.
gillbot
130 dollars to fill the tank last week... can get to the cost of a beater pretty quickly Add in the cost of shitbox maintenance, insurance plus unknown beater issues and that price will climb fast. But sounds like your mind is already made up, you are just looking for people to agree with you.
