GET EM NICK!! Sport bikers, by and large, are WAY safer than cruiser guys, especially h/d guys. I can count on 0 fingers the number of times I've seen an H/D rider with a helmet on, so far this season.

I saw a lot of HD riders with helmets on this weekend. On the other hand, I rarely see a cruiser weave in and out of traffic with no gear on.

Almost every time I take a trip up 75 starting from the river and going past 275 I see at least 1 squid acting like an idiot.

No matter how you look at it, both sides has their idiots.

Glad you wrote them an email Nick, however I think it could have been written a little bit better. I dont say this to offend you, I just think that you wrote it out of spite and didn't put a whole lot of time and thought into it.

Yep, wrote it out of anger and was very tired right before I took a nap. I had to get up early to make it to Calculus. I work nights and have to get up bright and early for the 1st class sessions of the day. Then I come home zombiefied (yes, it's not a word I know) and take a 2 hour power nap.

What more did you want it to say? I thought it covered most of the main points. I posted their email Sam, write them.

Wasn't trying to be a dick. Just that I have seen enough of your "serious" posts to know that you didn't put a whole lot of time into the email.

Drafting an email to them now. And I encourage others to do the same otherwise Nick just looks like the one and only that rides responsibly

I know you weren't being a dick man. I was just curious to why you said that, that's all. Just to be clear, are you saying my other "serious" posts were better written? If they were it had to be because I was exhausted when I was doing it and was anxious to lay down. I wrote it in 10 minutes on word for spell check and then copied it in email. You're right I didn't make much time for it, but it got the point across I'm sure.

Oh and FTR...I sucked in English class. I paid a certain writing genius I knew to write my papers and it got a B and an A on my record because of him.

Below is a short segment of the email I sent.

Most of my friends that I ride with are over 35 years old. I just recently logged over 1,000 miles on my "crotch rocket" riding next to a 62 year old and a 65 year old. Both were on "crotch rockets"

And the term "crotch rocket"?? Seriously? Sounds more like a pleasure toy for a woman. I ride a Suzuki Hayabusa, not a "crotch rocket"

Since you are so eager to make public service announcements stereotyping us, why don't you make some more that may actually save some lives. To those Harley riders who you think ride responsible, put on some protective gear - at very least wear a helmet. To all the cars, trucks, etc. - look twice and save a life. We are out there. Pay attention to us so you don't kill us.

Most of the story below has happened to me. The last part happened to my best friend. He died 2 years ago because someone in a hurry turned in front of him. He was 38 and left behind 5 children, the youngest was 5. Before you say "He must've been speeding on his 'crotch rocket'" DONT. The driver was proven to be at fault and was charged with vehicular manslaughter. So as aforementioned, tell your listeners to watch out for us

THE BIKER

I saw you, hug your purse closer to you in the grocery store line.

But, you didn't see me, put an extra $10.00 in the collection outside the store as I walked in.

I saw you; pull your child closer when we passed each other on the sidewalk.

But, you didn't see me, playing Santa at the local mall.

I saw you, change your mind about going into the restaurant.

But, you didn't see me, attending a meeting to raise more money for the hurricane relief.

I saw you , roll up your window and shake your head when I rode by.

But, you didn't see me, riding behind you when you flick ed your cigarette butt out the car window.

I saw you, frown at me when I smiled at your children.

But, you didn't see me, when I took time off from work to run toys to the homeless.

I saw you, stare at my long hair.

But, you didn't see me, and my friends cut ten inches off for Locks of Love.

I saw you, roll your eyes at our leather jackets and gloves.

But, you didn't see me, and my brothers donate our old ones to those that had none.

I saw you, look in fright at my tattoos.

But, you didn't see me, cry as my children were born and have their name written over and in my heart.

I saw you, change lanes while rushing off to go somewhere.

But, you didn't see me, going home to be with my family.

I saw you, complain about how loud and noisy our bikes can be.

But, you didn't see me, when you were changing the CD and drifted into my lane.

I saw you, yelling at your kids in the car.

But, you didn't see me, pat my child's hands, knowing he was safe behind me.

I saw you, reading the newspaper or map as you drove down the road. but, you didn't see me, squeeze my wife's leg when she told me to take the next turn.

I saw you, race down the road in the rain.

But, you didn't see me, get soaked to the skin so my son could have the car to go on his date.

I saw you, run the yellow light just to save a few minutes of time.

But, you didn't see me, trying to turn right.

I saw you, cut me off because you needed to be in the lane I was in.

But, you didn't see me, leave the road.

I saw you, waiting impatiently for my friends to pass.

But, you didn't see me. I wasn't there.

I saw you, go home to your family.

But, you didn't see me.

Because, I died that day you cut me off.

I was just a biker. A person with friends and a family.

But, you didn't see me.

I am eager to hear an apology for the stereotype. But even more eager to hear the messages to the motoring public about watching out for us.

I don't know why we shouldn't just send them an e-mail with a link to this thread?

I mean, we'll see who's audience is bigger

"Fugly morning radio jockeys that hate crotch rockets"

OR

"Pissed off Ohio sportbikers that think morning DJs are homos"
