  • 1 month later...

Mines coming along good............. As soon as I get new tires I'll be able to get alot of stuff finished like the new chain & the ss brake lines & some other stuff.

Mainly need to buy tires, speedometer, 2003 intake tubes, and build a 12 bar so I can stunt untill the track days roll around.

I need more garage space, I've been putting off working on the bike until my car is sold so I have room to work if I don't finish it in one day and its probably easy stuff too.

Install slip-on: havent even taken it out of the box

Throttlemeister: still not installed the right way

new fairing stay: just got that from ups yesterday

new upper fairing: yet to find one at a reasonable price

its been over a month and the only thing out of this I did was order a new upper fairing finally along with a Corbin seat, I need to get my ass in gear

Well, since the last post:

New tail light installed.

New mirrors installed.

I have the new clutch kit, spring, exhaust gasket, and clutch cover gasket, just waiting on the weather to get a little nicer to get that done.

The seat is being recovered as I type this.

I also am having a storage compartment built when I put the clutch in. So it'll be a few more weeks.

Not much this winter...just a new front tire and a replacement front caliper bolt for the FJR. It's been 30,000 miles since I've had a matching front and rear set. Feels great again.

Overall itinerary for this week:

Monday: Scrub tire in. 80 miles.

Tuesday: Continue scrubbing tire. 80 miles.

Wednesday: Test tire for scrubbiness. 50 miles.

Thursday: Same as Wednesday. 50 miles.

Friday: Going to Target in Newark because the ones in C-bus are too close. Going for the century mark today.

Saturday: Ride somewhere, far, for ice cream.

Dunno, just the usual maintenance for now, when it's warmer outside.

Bought another bike, just because. (Note to self, only tear down one at a time.)

Bought some used parts, mostly eBay.

Bought some new parts, and more to buy.

I need to try making some carbon fiber parts...

And maybe, just maybe, I'll try making a 34 year old motorcycle run.

Buy new gloves - yes!

Buy new jacket - yes!

Tear down bike and meticulously clean - nope

As you can see, it has NOT been a productive winter.
