reinie
Anybody on this forum into these types of motorcycles? I have been on Cruisers since 1997. Last fall I went from a 2010 Triumph Rocket III Touring to a 1012 Victory Cross Country. I was planning on keeping the Triumph until a small part in the transmission failed under warranty then had a 43 day long debacle with Triumph and the dealer with no motorcycle to ride. This soured me on Triumph and that dealer to the point that I traded the Rocket on the Victory shortly after I got it back. Anyhow I am loving the Cross Country even though it's quite a bit less powerful. The new machine has lots of other attributes that more than make up for that. Bad324
Eventually when finances allow I will either get a Street Glide or I'll build a bagger out of a VTX
Lucky
Hey reinie, I ride a Road King. Been riding cruisers since 2005, but riding overall since 1994.I had similar issues with my Harley warranty. It's not just Triumph. To be honest, I will be unlikely to ever purchase another warranty like that again. I had a few parts that should have been covered under the warranty, but they wanted to play the '3 month' game. I just spent the money and repaired it myself. Pissed at the thousands I spent on the worthless warranty though. IMO, it's only worth it if the engine or transmission blows. mello dude
Been riding a lot of years and if it has 2 wheels, I'm into it, whether, sport, sport tour, standard, dirt and even cruisers. Lots of different flavors. My current cruiser is a Valkyrie. Love the thing. My current combination I like to say ---- one to go fast, one to go slow, not necessarily in that order. Revelstoker
Be careful, seems as if there are a lot of baggers on the forum. "T" types mostly though.

mike884
Was looking at getting into a very low mileage 98 Aero 1100 with hard bags... i'm just not sure if it would be any better at touring than my decked out vstrom....
Gixxus Christ!
I haven't had the opportunity to put many miles on my shadow yet but I like it. Very comfy riding position. The power is probably about on par with the wee-strom. Plenty of low end grunt. The shaft drive is nice too, no chain to lube or change, no sprockets to wear out. Just grease the splines at each tire change and you're good. There's a pretty strong aftermarket for them too, bags, pipes, seats, bars etc. You can pipe, jet and filter it but you only get like +2 hp for the $450 it costs for the parts. The stock pipes cn be made kinda loud by removing the resonator with a hole saw. Gives it more rumble at idle and acceleration but not too loud at cruising speed. cobrat
I like all things two-wheels and a stable of bikes to match. When the touring bug strikes -- hop on the ElectraGlide.
