Not new to riding not new on here, just been a while since I've posted anything. I'm out of Delaware Ohio, lost my old lady of 31 years a few years back, yes very devastating, Got sick a couple years ago, my old ticker decided I couldn't keep giving it a kicker and keep on ticking. That being said, before I got sick I started a upgrade project on my 07 Electra Glide Standard, Freshen up paint for a graphene coating, S&S dual headers, 3½ Rinehart pipes, SE high flow air cleaner, new Hertz fairing speakers, painted inner fairing, adding Tourpak, updated gauge faceplates and LED upgrades, (sorry done broke the bank no cams this round) Now here's the so called wrench in the gears When I ended up in the er and ended up spending almost the entire month of Oct in the cardiac ICU unit a buddy told me he had a buddy that could help me on the painting completion. I get out of the hospital, my parts are gone dudes nowhere to he found. I'm in need of inner and outter fairing, saddlebags and a gas tank. It's the tank that is killing me, in crappy dented condition $200 to $400 average, good condition running $600 and up on average. Wasn't sure where to post this, hope it was okay to include with my hey post. If anyone knows of any local bike salvage yards please let me know

The only thing my cars go to the shop for is new tires and alignments. with an ATSG manual, and YouTube I think I got this.... Maybe 🤣

You’re definitely braver than I am. I would’ve pulled the transmission and took it to a shop.

Went ahead and ordered a new converter because I was convinced that was the issue.... Hard launch might have worked the inside somehow. And what a difference between the stock 12" and the new 10" But as soon as I pulled the pan I was unpleasantly surprised with this mess. A whole lot of bushing material in the fluid....like.... A WHOLE LOT so I went ahead and with no previous experience I ripped the transmission apart. Initial inspection hard parks all looked good except the rear planetary, clutches are toast and every bushing is trashed. Ordered an overhaul kit, all three painless accumulators and a rear planetary rebuild kit. I really have no idea how the transmission was functioning properly outside of just noise and vibration. With the way the clutches look I would have expected this thing to be slip city. But then again I've only ever worked on dirtbike clutches before this 🤣

Finally it stopped raining long enough to get outside and change Sunny’s oil. Im leaving on the 21st for a week long trip down to Appomattox Virginia to attend the Horizons Unlimited Traveler’s meeting. There in addition to camping and hanging out with like-minded vagabonds, I’ll also be giving my first solo public presentation about my travels, and will also be doing a reading from my chapter in Sam Manicom’s travel anthology “the Moment Collectors”. Then the next day I’ll be doing a seminar on modifying and maintaining DR650 for extended international travel! nervous as hell but I’m sure it’ll be fun. And yeah Tony, this spring has sucked bad. Very few nice days. Really looking forward to the ride down. Staying at Mark Swepston’s in Kingston Ohio the first night out. Second night will be at the Koolwink!! hope everyone is doing ok

Teach him to ride a normal bike first then get rid of the training wheels then let him ride it he’d learn balance better peddling never understood the point of a dirtbike with training wheels on it seems kind of strange

I've already talked to a couple of powder coat guys who said they can chemically remove the black. I'd just have to punch out the bearings and disassemble the front caliper holders. If I'm buying, it's craft IPAs. If you're buying, I'll try anything. I haven't found too many that I wouldn't finish! Although, lately I've been drinking more bourbon than beer, but I can't afford to become a bourbon snob! Lost 25 lbs though.
