  1. Headed up to Wooster to pick up the new bike. I chose to take tomorrow off to do it because Sat may see snow (at least that's what the forecast said the other day, now not so much). This is the luggage I ordered too.

  5. This is way overdue. Going to post my kids interviews on TV in one thread. Today's is about the CIA leaks and Assange's offer to keep the details secret until the affected companies can patch. http://video.foxbusiness.com/v/5353729541001/?#sp=show-clips

  6. A group of our legion riders were at the Dave and Busters restaurant in Westlake on Friday all of them had their vests on everyone was welcomed and was served with no problems the management apologized for the mix-up at the other location Their dress code in under review Here is a copy of a letter that was posted on their facebook page --------Dave & Buster's is extremely grateful to all of our active military members and veterans, and we are honored to have them as valued guests. We have apologized to Mr. Murdock for his experience this past weekend. Mr. Murdock has raised important concerns regarding our policies. We recognize the need to educate our team members about the American Legion, and have reached out to the local American Legion Post 179, and the national organization for guidance. In addition, we will review our approach to our dress code. We remain fully committed to our military and will work with the American Legion and Mr. Murdock on ways we can support their mission and their community.

  8. Response from a Representative: Received your email and would like to meet with you to discuss this matter in greater detail. I realize that you are in class Mon-Fri and I am down here Mon evening through Thursday. Would it be possible to catch breakfast sometime on a Saturday morning? Probably the best I can do at this point given our schedules. I probably should add I personally know this Representative. He was my high school history teacher and basically ran his campaign from local friends and family support. Anything specific you feel I should bring up? Obviously the idea that the ear plugs are a safety concern. Other thoughts?

  9. In my late teens and 20s I rode with a 1% club for around 10 years before getting out and stayed independent for about 30 years .I have been riding with the ALR for around 10 years now and have never had any issues while wearing my vest even with the 1% clubs I always wear my vest when riding the none riding cagers always give me a wide berth when they see the patch and I think the cops give me a break because of the legion patch also. But the general public still sees the stereo type. American Legion Riders have more than 100,000 members. They are all Current Military, Veterans/ Legion members, Sons of the American Legion, or Auxiliary. Joining the ALR is a way to socialize with fellow Vets. Just like serving together in the military, it is like a brotherhood. The mission of the ALR is service to others. The ALR has raised Millions of dollars for charities. Schools, Children's Hospitals, Wounded Veterans organizations, College funds for wounded, or K.I.A. veteran's kids, etc. ALR members typically wear their membership vests while escorting funeral processions of fallen veterans, Fire Dept., or Police officers. Asking a ALR members to remove his vest, is akin to asking a Marine to remove his uniform. They will not comply, just to appease someone.

  11. My trailer needs a couple of small repairs, but the parts are in my garage waiting to be installed... Let me know if Tim's isn't a viable option for some reason. I could get it road-worthy saturday morning. It's the standard HF folding 4x8. 1100 lbs. capacity. I don't remember what size ball it uses, but you could borrow the ball too... I have one mounted to a 2" receiver and one mounted to a 1.25" receiver. The latter is a MUCH higher rise.

  18. Excuse me doctor, will remove this Harley from my ass? Oh, there may be a Grom in there too.

  19. It's not a terrible concept...for a Harley. The best thing about it is that it has 17" wheels in normal sportbike sizes

  21. Where? I buy smart. If I don't like it I'll either get my money back or make some $ if/when I resell it. I've done it before...like 25 times.

  22. I believe it's a 6x12. It has a baxley installed. It's open. I'm sure the flex will pull it just fine. I believe the explorer had a class 2 hitch, so I'm not sure if the ball setup I have will fit yours. It's on the smaller side. I forgot what "size" it is. Actually now that I think about it, I may have both sizes but dont count on that. I'm at work and cant run into my garage to check. I'm referring not to the ball size but the part that inserts into the hitch.

  24. Thanks Tim! And I really appreciate that clarification. How big is your trailer? My Ford Flex has a hitch, but isn't much of a tow vehicle. Is it open or closed?

  25. If you don't mind driving to Columbus you're welcome to use mine It's even got a Baxley chock attached!

  27. I haven't seen much on the scale change lately, but I can tell a size difference. Arms and legs definitely are more toned and my waist keeps getting smaller. I've done more weight training in the last couple weeks than I ever have. My treadmill running progress is getting better as well. The thing still kicks my ass every time though.

  29. I'm going nowhere, weight still hovering. Sticking with the diet for the most part but haven't worked out much at all. Ive lost motivation, and I think it's because I no longer dislike where I am. Before I was a fat slob and that's how I thought of myself and wanted to change it. Now I think I look pretty good and feel so much better so I no longer have the motivation to push hard. I do still want to lose about 20 more lbs but need to find the new push mentally to do it. Could also be cabin fever from the time of year too. I'm ready to do some hiking and biking.

  30. The place is an adult by age, child by mentality Chucky Cheese. It's where "Basic Bros" go to hang. This just supports my hate of the place.

  31. I've probably got more seat time that anyone else around here on a superMoto on track days and races...... my personal Opinion on the foot down riding style is a little unsafe for you and the riders around you it's a good way to get your foot run over in the knee down position for me tends to hold me up when the wheels are sliding it's a support so you don't get that with the foot down and for me to be a good way to get high sided and pitched off. I think the safest place for a mode Tarde is on the track is in the center on the straightaways I tend to only get passed on the back straightaway buy a few riders announce it but my motard runs about 123 mile an hour about the same as a stock SV anyways good luck motards are super fun just need to be fast enough to be safe as well as lap times and that's my opinion

  38. Heeeeeeyyyyyy now. You remember what I brought out to play with one of your days there ........ BP is a big teaching item, thats why I just played on the Sumo instead of coach on it. Todd wouldn't let me coach on it only ride it. Thats why I only coached on the GSXR. BP taught race style yes, your BP should match. Mid O is not a place for dirtbike style. You will most likely break your leg if something goes wrong. Line, for gods sake stay on the line! Race line is also a teaching item, harder to do during novice follow the leader sessions when one guy isnt following and being off line makes you a hazzard and unpredictable. Novice has changed a bit since your last time and the cut loose afternoon doesnt happen instead we go in the groups but kinda let the group go their pace the last 2 sessions and the coach kinda chases and jumps in front as needed. My 450 topped at 100. Yea Id get ate up on the back straight but Id get it all right back in the turns. Mark may make some changes this season too so could be different yet again but either way stay in the race line and hold your own no looking back, its the rider behind you that has the task of making a clean pass. If you keep looking back and getting of line you make that pass dangerous.

  40. Well, The V-Strom required a rear tire change to a harder compound Mitas E-09 Darkar Knob! from the E-10 Dakar. The Z1K required a harder Pirelli Angel GT to match front. JIM, Thank you for the OR stickers for both bikes. Will were them with pride and defiance. .

  41. lolz, I wasnt a big fan of that. I switched to the "faster" novice group and asked for a bump after the 2nd session if I recall correctly. I like how N2 runs it, CR's on track are pretty lax, dont hold you up much, let you run at your own pace (still cant pass them without the wave-by). If you want some one on one ask a CR before the session starts. Sometimes they will randomly find you and tag along and watch you and give you tips.

  44. Well not really getting anywhere on the scale but have had some NSV (non scale victories). Got to the point where I feel confident buying new gear in preperation for the upcoming riding season. Me and he Mrs. made a trip to IronPony last weekend to try stuff on because we had no clue what our new sizes would be. To my suprise I was 2 sizes smaller in both my jacket and pants. Went from a 2xl jacket to a Large and went form a 3Xl pant to a XL. And my wife went from a 3xl jacket to a MEDIUM that's a 4(FOUR!) size drop. So I ordered myself a new jacket and pants from Riderdiscount because they Rock! And found my wife a jacket on ebay that was exactly like her old one for less than price that was still brand new with tags. So here are the pics. First couple are the wifes new jacket I found for $70 on ebay and a side by side at about a year part comparing her old jacket that was a 3XL and the enew one that's a medium and her being 115lbs lighter. And pics of my new gear and me in my new Large jacket.
