So Thunder Bay to Sault Ste. Marie is freaking amazing. I have never done the northern side before despite living a large part of my life in Michigan. Non stop 75 mph sweepers for 400 miles through some of the most breathtaking scenery I have seen. You do have to plan your gas stops, or at least pay attention to gas, but it isn't bad. Fuck the Gap, I am coming back here.2 points

True story. I was headed south out of Norfolk on the bike. Ahead of me a storm was brewing, i mean black as sin clouds. I was debating if I should stop or just power through it. At that moment I seen a sign for Jesus chicken(chic-fil-a)and a bright lighting strike went across the sky at the same time. I thought "okay, I can eat" so I took the exit. Just as I walked through the door and smelt that wonderful aroma. All hell let loose outside, I mean biblical rains. I took a hour and savored that moist delisious sammich(2 of them actually) and hit the road. Weather has now blown through. About 3 miles down the freeway you can tell where water was flowing across the road pretty deep due to the heavy down pour. There were four bikes on the berm just past that, two of them on thier side. A sheriff was already on the scene so no need for me to stop. Another couple miles up a ambulance was headed in the opposite direction with lights and sirens. I'm assuming towards the accident. Hope the riders were okay. But yeah that could have been me if I had not gotten "a sign" (literally) for Jesus chicken. Thank You Jesus Chicken!2 points

I took a 340 mile ride today. Ride down to Zanesville and headed down 555. It was actually pretty clean. Took it to it’s end outside of Belpre. Had Subway in Belpre. Headed north on 339-60-83-78-216-93 and then 668.1 point

It's a fucking national park. So yes, like most countries you need a pass.1 point

You can actually get steaks from dairy breeds- Holstein, Brown Swiss. The animal needs to be fed properly so you do get marbling. It does often seem to take longer to feed out a dairy animal. I’m talking a bull/steer not an old milk cow. The problem often with a dairy breed is the waste. What I mean by that is we recently slaughtered a beef steer that weighed 1180lbs live weight. After he was slaughtered and ready to be butchered he weighed 799lbs. That is about 68% of his live weight which is above average. In talking to a local farmer that raises dairy steers to sell for beef he is typically getting 58%.1 point

Also most dairy farmers either raise the bulls born on the farm to be slaughtered for meat or take them to auction to be sold for beef animals. They are still good eating. There just tends to be more waste with a dairy breed (ex: Holstein as pictured in CFA ad). We primarily raise beef animals on our farm and in my wife’s research she found a lot of beef being sold is coming from dairy breeds. We can pick a dairy bull much cheaper than a beef bull for sure, so I can believe her research.1 point

when dairy cows stop producing at an acceptable level, they usually go to auction, and are used for ground beef. and are quite tasty!1 point

I eat CFA all the time. Dumb campaign, or not... their stores are clean, the staff is polite and groomed and the food is tasty. Fuck all other fast food joints. CFA is cracking.1 point

I had this thought a while ago, but never got an answer that satisfied my curiosity. Why do the Chick-fil-A cows give a damn about who is eating meat versus chicken? They're dairy cows.1 point

Hell no, it's base price. ZR1 vette starts at 120k for the 2019 model. Stupid comparison to make. 🤷🏻♂️1 point

That’s because he cheats. He nibbles the food like a rabbit he might as well be a vegetarian. He eats such low portion size that most pics seen here are probably after he ate his fill i am not even joking or exaggerating.1 point

I don’t know anything about the Dyno Shop. Never even heard of them till now so I’ve no input there. Hoblick is a great guy and does good work on the side. He’s transitioned more into powder coating now than service work though. Suspension work is 28’s specialty. It’s what Ryan does. He does more suspension for pro racers than anyone in the area, possibly the state. He’s done our MotoAmerica bike for the last two seasons. Several bikes on the podium at VMD were on his suspension and he just did the suspension on my Street Triple a couple Saturdays ago while I waited. Hes a pro racer himself and was on the road a lot. He’s taking time off from racing now and is in the shop 6 days a week now. Hoblick sends his personal bikes to 28 too FWIW1 point

28 is fine but Ryan is so busy it's been hard to get stuff to him. I'm not going to get into which shop is better or why but I can almost guarantee you'll have your forks back sooner from The Dyno Shop.1 point
