  1. Interesting idea. If it proved feasible it would solve the recharge time/infrastructure concern...but I wonder if the consumables and waste would be a concern. Maybe I'll read up on it
  2. I have nothing against early adopters. Good for you. I'm just not one of them. I'll likely go solar (when I build a cabin) before I get an EV. Solar feasibility is dependent on the battery/panel tech without having to worry about infrastructure
  3. EV tech is evolving rapidly. IMO, any EV that exist today will certainly be obsolete in 10 years. Infrastructure is the driving force of the industry. Infrastructure is largely going to determine which EVs are going to be successful...not the other way around. I expect some failed formats (think VHS vs Betamax) before the industry is standardized. Whatever company emerges & gains control of that infrastructure is going to become one of the most powerful companies in the world. After those chips fall is when I'll seriously consider an EV. Prolly 10 years.
  4. My office is in LA and my manager has a BMW i3. It's nice, but even in LA, the infrastructure is lacking. There are charging stations in parking garages, but really not that many. If a large portion of drivers we driving EVs how long would the wait be at a charging station? Hours? There are situation like apartments where charging at home isn't an option.
  5. I've owned 2 Magnas of that generation. Probably the most fun cruisers I've ridden.
  6. IMO, we are 10 years away from all-electric vehicles being a viable option for a meaningful number of drivers. Battery technology is getting there, but they need to store more power and become much smaller & lighter. Recharge times are the real deal breaker. Infrastructure is going to need to evolve differently. Charging "gas stations" are never going to work for a large number of drivers. Charging stations in the parking lots of grocery stores, etc would work a bit better...but, scrap the whole charging station idea and move to hot swappable batteries. Batteries sizes should be standardized across vehicles, and the vehicles need to be designed for easy battery access. 10 years away...at least. OTOH, we are living in the golden age of burritos.
  7. at least it has bullet proof glass
  8. Cybertruck is way uglier than a burrito.
  9. Livetv.net is good for channels. It has tons of international sports channels.
  10. I've used jail broken Firesticks for years with no issue. Buffering issues either mean the source you are streaming from has bandwidth issues (this would be the case if you only have issues during peak times), if you always have issues I'd bet your ISP is limiting bandwidth intentionally (this is the case with apps like Kodi). Also, Kodi needs a fresh install when there's major version change.
  11. We use Firesticks. There small, inexpensive, and portable. You can take them with you when traveling. Then any cheap Blu Ray player.

  13. Wow, old age sounds like a bitch. That must be the target demographic
  14. A lot of players in the industry are hoping that's the case. Price point is going to have a lot to do with people taking a chance on electric motorcycles. I think the $30k HD livewire is a swing and a miss. But inexpensive bikes like the HD scooter concept have potential to get younger people on 2 wheels that can bring new life into motorcycling.
  15. If long overnight rides were an option I might consider a GW. But I don't see it as a the right choice for around town or just riding for an hour or two. For what I'd use it for a ctx1300 or Valkyrie would be a better choice...and 1/3 the cost.
  16. I will mosdef keep riding for the foreseeable future. But I go back and forth on exactly what that means. I don't seem to like group riding as much as I used to, except with just a select few people like the WV this year with @Pauly and @Blitz. Plus due to life responsibilities, long rides just can't happen as often as they used to. I like riding 2 up with the gf, unfortunately that kind of means a cruiser, and I just can't seem to find a cruiser I actually like to ride. I'll probably buy another bike for 2up rides this year. Possibly a ctx1300, even though it doesn't check all the boxes
  17. Isn't the entire motorcycle market shrinking? There's a few healthy niches, but overall sales are way down.
  18. Not sure what "Now" is. We are going to the RIU Palace Riveria Maya.
  19. We usually book in Nov, but don't travel until Feb. It's something to look forward to all winter. That swim up bar is calling my name 🥃
  20. Speed limit signs say "Speed Limit." That is a curve rating for trucks and school buses. The conversion for motorcycles is x3
