I'm aware of the effort that was put into this on our end. I am saying that supposedly there was another bill that went through last year that changed the classification of motorcyclists to be in line with other jobs/etc that are allowed to wear hearing protection while operating a vehicle. The example I got was construction workers, garbage truck operators, etc. OSHA mandates that hearing protection must be worn in certain situations and that would put OSHA regs in direct conflict with state law, which can't happen, thus the exemption they get.

So I heard over the weekend that motorcyclists got an exemption from the law that makes it illegal to wear hearing protection while riding. Specifically earplugs FOR hearing protection, not earphones/etc. Supposedly this happened last summer/fall. So there may have been another effort going through in conjunction with this one that succeeded?

Must have changed ergos on the newer ones, or I just didn't ever notice any difference. I think they did ditch the old street triple subframe for the daytona subframe on the triple RS. I'm being super helpful! If you're looking for a naked with comfort and the ability to 2-up/do some longer distance riding... the MT-10 has a touring package straight from yamaha. Not sure how comfortable the rear seat is but I know that thing will wheelie every chance it gets. Plus, cruise control.

The ergos are the same as the Street Triple, and I have done 14 hour days on it and been fine riding the next day. I'm 6'6 though so...

I was looking at them - I wouldn't buy one before the 2016 model though. The weight reduction and slight power increase it got made it less of a tugboat compared to the MT10/Z900 from what I've read.

I crash a few times per weekend on the minis, but that's because I am pushing that bike way past what they were built to do, with 20 other riders doing exactly the same thing right next to me. I'm curious how the Grom will do this year with decent suspension, tires and brakes. I'm not expecting my pretty plastics to survive the season, but I'm going to (in theory) take more care on that bike than I do on the indestructible XR100. (of course that's always the plan until you're fighting for a position and are pretty god damn sure you can keep/take it if you just push that 1% harder 😂) Big bikes - I would not be pushing to that point.

Bummer. I need to spend some more time in WV, although it might be best to have a bike that can outrun a car in a straight line before spending too much time there.

I really like my RST gloves. $70, have held up to all kinds of abuse and were really comfortable from the minute I put them on the first time.

I'm guessing I'll probably hear from him this week or next week. He quoted me 3 weeks when it got dropped off (4 weeks ago) but I didn't know he was also prepping to race at Daytona. Makes sense. He's also super busy at the shop so I'm not worried about it. Just want to test out all the new POWER!

Down another 10lbs. Aiming for 270/280 by May which will be about 20/30 more lbs. Real close to being back where I was in 2016 and pushing on from there.
