  1. Some people are stuck in the 80s and 90s Ive had nothing but Gm for the last 15 years and Ive gotten more bang for my buck and milage than most people get from their over priced yuppie rides. Last few and current rides 1999 grand am had 190k on it when i sold it only issue was inake maifold leak that was a cheap easy fix. other then that the car was a tank over 12 years and i paid $7500 on the use lot with 40k on it. 07 Chevy impala got used 8 years ago with 24k mile for $13k now has 216k miles Ive never touched under hood other than a battery and power steering pump. 05 Tahoe with 160k on it, had a engine issue at fist but dealer took care of it, and had to do a fuel pump because of corosion issue but thats it. Oh yea only paid $14k for it on the used lot 7 years ago with 80k on it. And our newer car 14 Impala 40k miles and hasent been in the shop yet. So i dont get when people say "GM quality shit" now days. I'll admit in the 80s and early 90s it did suck.
  2. Yea we have $50k or 6 years left on the house,$19k or 3 years left on her student loans, and 3 years on her car(that never get driven)left. Also my youngest will be out of school in 3.5 years. Once I'm done with all that I'll have some extra play money to splurge. I'm also dumping about 18% in 401k right now so that takes a chunk.
  3. Yea but I drive a 13 year old truck with 160k on it, have a 10 year old bike with 61k on it. Sacrifices Bike trips are cheap that's why I do them. Trust me we aren'texactly staying in Hiltons and Ritz-Carleton's when we travel. Gas, food and half a shity hotel isnt expensive at all. And by the way the "kid with no real bills" goes on these trips too. And the Mrs. pays for the family vacations and the trips to tropical locations, although i do the enjoy them thats her gig. And way to fuck up a inside joke....DICK
  4. Damn kids with no real bills

  11. His hands are too cold. Never again.
  12. Should have made a game of it. Negative rep for wrong guesses and questions and positive rep for good hint questions. And the winner can tell @Tonik who they want to ban.
  13. I'll take bribes for hints. Shut up dave...lol
  14. I'm trying really hard to stay off the scale. Going to take my once a week weigh in down to once a month. Found myself obsessing over the number. I would get to feeling better and cloths fitting better then have a disappointing number then try change things again. So that's it only weigh ins ill do is the first weekend of the month. Last time on the scale was around Christmas and it said 247 fully clothed.
  15. DAMN IT!!!! Damn fine man we lost today. Don't even know what to say other than... Love you Brother, give them hell on the other side.
  16. She wants to but not sure how it's all going to work out with it getting there. Also she rides a big slow cruiser bike not a sport bike so you might want to take back that invite to ride with her..LOL.. I usually take a nap while riding behind her, but i'm fine with it, it's time together.
  17. Was going to recommend a Tahoe till I read the second post. I love mine and 8 to 9 year old units can be had for $15,000ish. It's been the perfect family ride. But you said small and that it ain't.
  18. One more thing, Ive seen this burn more people on bike trips than any other thing. Don't go at all if every dime you have to spend is allocated. YOU NEED EMERGENCY FUNDS. Have cash, credit card or any other funds in reserve to get you home if your bike can't. If you need need emergency repairs, need to rent a uhaul or even need to buy a bus or plane ticket home. Always come financially prepared for anything. Can't believe how many people have gone on this trip or other trips and end up needing to bum money for gas or food money or have no plan on if shit hits the fan.
  19. @flashesbuck come on down not all of us are stoners that think you are not a good rider (is that enough smileys to know I'm half kidding around?) Here is the story, first and foremost make sure your equipment is in tip top order especially tires and brakes and ppe but really all your ducks need to be in row. Second and equally important "ALWAYS, RIDE YOUR RIDE". That includes all miles for this trip including the ones getting there. Plan your trip with what ever you want to do ..BUT. Always have a way to opt out or and alt. plan. If your tired, STOP. If your over your head on a technical road, slow down. Shit happens and time tables get fucked and the last thing you need is to feel your on a set deadline to get some where. Same goes for the roads down around the gap they are a different beast than stuff up here but ANYONE can ride them just not at the paces some of us do. If you have to do half the speed limit to be safe, do it. Just keep they guy that just rode up behind you in mind at the next turn out or strait. If you give yourself plenty of time and don't have the mind set that you are going to "slay the dragon" you will be fine. And if someone invites you along on their journey, rules need to be laid out and they should be informed of what you are comfortable with. My wife may be taking her bike and she has ridden less than 800 miles in the last 2 years and 600 of that was one trip. I have no fears of her going down there and getting in over her head because I know she's a smart rider that could care less what pace she's riding at or what time the clock says. I'll take a smart rider over experience any day. Obviously a smart experienced rider is the perfect scenario. but even a stupid experienced rider is dangerous.
  20. mark my words that thing will be in the $20k range and it won't sell
