  1. And here I always thought it was a joke when the cops asked if I had any dynamite, grenades, bombs, RPGs in the car.
  2. I don't think the brake vs. tires argument is valid. Most stock brakes can lock up the tires and cause ABS to engage. Once ABS is on the brakes can not perform any better. Upgrading the brakes won't help then with regards to street driving conditions. Brake fade, a reason to upgrade them on the track, rarely is a concern on the street.
  3. ^ I would guess trucks not running or some of the suppliers not working in areas that had worse weather.
  4. Not sure about the separated chamber. My intuition is that it can only work for low pressure ammunition, just like simple blowback designs. Is there really a benefit? Edit: I'm an idiot that didn't watch the video. The pictures made it look like a 2-piece design.
  5. No it's the other way around. Before Anakin there was basically only the Jedis. 1000s of Jedis and 1 or 2 Sith at the most, so a massive bias towards the Light side of the Force. Anakin turned into Darth Vader and killed most of the Jedis. So then there was only Yoda & Obi on the Light Side and Sidious & Vader on the Dark Side. Seems pretty balanced to me.
  6. I wish Chrysler would have been left to die a few years ago. But if this deal fucks over the unions then I approve.
  7. Snowpocalypse 2014 already?
  8. I think he'll be lucky if he is able to walk gracefully. His fighting career is over.

    what router?

My Cisco/Linksys just crapped out on me after only 2 years. Kinda pissed because it wasn't all that cheap.
  10. Doubt that will happen. Eventually they (democrats) will call it a disaster and push for a single payer system, and likely have the support for it.
  11. Glad everyone is okay. Impressive how safe cars are now. I think both cars are totaled.
  12. If you're not hammering it you'll probably not be noticed.
  13. Hating others for their inconsequential opinions is in the same vein as hating others for their lifestyle choices. What he said wasn't hateful and it's not like he is organizing anti-gay rallies or promoting violence. If you're going to crusade, crusade against those that are actually doing bad things.
  14. A few options: A) Restore disc from contacting the laptop's manufacturer, or borrow one from someone that has the same model. B) Buy a Windows disc C) If the license key is on a sticker on the laptop, then it technically isn't illegal to download and install that version of Windows using that key. Could make a boot disc or a bootable USB drive if the computer supports it.
  15. Weight further towards the back increases the potential energy available.
  16. The front is growing on me. That interior though....ugh!
  17. In silver the front looks even worse. I'm liking the rest of it besides the interior. Will be anxious to see what the Cobra or GT500 versions bring.
  18. This. The new Mustang just screams that it doesn't know what it wants to be. Almost retro. Almost contemporary. It's a very uncertain design all around. I agree the overhangs are too much. The wheelbase thus looks too short in proportion. I do like the side profile and the rear. The front is a mess and doesn't match the rest of the car. I won't even speak of the abortion of an interior.
  19. I read a comment elsewhere pointing out how he looks in this picture. He had no idea that he wouldn't be alive hours later. Death can come at anytime, often unexpectedly.
  20. I'm a low-income scrub and I go to Blackwing. More of a distance thing for me.
  21. Is owning a ski mask intent to rob a bank? Is owning a handgun intent to mug someone or commit murder? Is taking a chemistry class intent to manufacture methamphetamine? Is drinking at a bar intent to drive while intoxicated? Many more examples can be shown. The bullshit part of the law is that it can be used to charge someone for a crime they haven't yet committed. I would also argue that it is an unnecessary feel-good law that won't accomplish anything except inconveniencing law-abiding citizens. A criminal that is transporting a controlled substance isn't going give a shit that having a hidden compartment will add onto their jail time if caught. ETA: Thought of another good one: Modifying a car registered for public road use is intent to street race. Is it apparent what a bad precedent this law can set?
  22. So how do you prove "intent"? The only way the law works is by 1) prove the intention was to hide a controlled substance, 2) or that it was hiding a controlled substance (which is already illegal). Arresting on "intent" is basically charging someone for a crime before they commit it. That is what is vague about this law. It also, as written, only has the purpose of making something that is already illegal more illegal. A much better wording would be: "Any person convicted of possessing a controlled substance, that attempted to hide the controlled substance in a hidden compartment, shall also be guilty of a misdemeanor(or felony if you want) of blah degree, blah, blah, etc..." Also, "visible residue" has such a range for personal interpretation that officers are just going to take the shotgun approach and arrest anyone that has a hidden compartment. Which seems to be the case in the example in the OP link.
  23. It's bullshit. It's analogous to being charged for owning a ski mask, only because some bank robbers wear them. The law is way too vague and there are legitimate purposes to having extra storage, even hidden compartments. Some people like to hide an extra set of keys, for example.
  24. Yeah. I had a mixed collection of mostly Ice Age and Mirage block that I looked to sell a few years ago. I didn't find a store that bought cards and comparative pricing on Ebay wasn't worth the time and effort to package them and ship. I think that era is too old to be desirable but not old enough to be valuable for rarity.
  25. Will probably cite sovereign immunity and the case is thrown out.
