  1. Skittles and gummy bears are randomly shoved in by handfuls. Gum drops and jelly beans are selectively eaten, and there will be a bag of yellow, purple, and black ones left. *Except for Starburst jellybeans. None of those tasty bastards are safe.
  2. I think it's so the promoter doesn't get complaints about all the outrageous prices the dealers are asking.
  3. Obligatory Tueller drill rebuttal
  4. If Obama had another fictional son, he would look like Javon Neal.

    FN FNP .45?

I'd have to shoot both, but the H&K would have to be way better than the FN to justify the $300 difference and the -4 round capacity. The FN also comes with 3 magazines, the HK45 just 2, and H&K magazines are damn expensive.
  6. Yeah I'll take back my comment. Was unintentional to diminish how awesome it would be to actually go to space.
  7. Cool video, but I'm almost sure it doesn't look like that firsthand. Those shots are long exposure + HDR processing, and non-visible spectrum composite processing, etc.
  8. Well I held out until the last day. I was restraining since I have some games waiting to be played already. Picked up Arkham City with Harley Quinn DLC and Warlock: Master of the Arcane (looked interesting as a Civilization/HoMM hybrid). What did everyone else get?
  9. I think it could look better if it wasn't done so janky. Seeing the endtanks of the IC isn't appealing either.
  10. Except that possessing a firearm, or intending to sell is not illegal*. Possessing a bag of weed is a crime and gives probable cause to search the rest of the car. * With a few exceptions, though these need to be suspected before probable cause is applicable. The police could question the seller if she can legally possess the firearm or if she has intention to withhold selling to someone that can't legally purchase, perhaps other local restrictions, etc.
  11. For any of you considering Arma II for DayZ, take a look at this: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/gaming/news/a392296/day-z-going-standalone-in-september-adopting-minecraft-model.html
  12. Arkham City for $10.19 is tempting
  13. Background checks mostly require a legal proceeding to be able to throw a flag. Someone could be seeing a psychiatrist and be on a dozen different pills for depression, schizophrenia, psychosis, etc. and not trigger a flag on the check.
  14. Both parties are somewhat wrong: 1) Garage seller lady - no expectation of privacy exists for things in plain sight so no warrant is needed. She could ask the police to leave (step off the grass) but that is all. They can look from the sidewalk all they want to. 2) Police - No probable cause to search through their things. Even being in plain sight there needs to be probable cause to conduct a search - the officer must believe a crime has or is going to be committed. Only crimes would be violation of local laws restricting/prohibiting firearm sales, or selling to a felon or minor. That doesn't seem to be the case here.
  15. Sorry to ruin it for you, but they'll drop the builds and focus more on the dram.
  16. Was it this? Regardless the scenarios shown aren't realistic. The shooters go in knowing exactly where the armed person is. Bullshit video is bullshit. (Though there is some merit, but not to the extent that report wants to represent)
  17. I read an accompanying article. It was a .380 and his '50s cowboy shooting didn't help. However he did hit the first guy in the lower arm, and his ass. Apparently the one dumbass robber had a rusty, unloaded .45. The other with a baseball bat. Still great of gramps to take initiative and drive them off.
  18. Aren't 4k televisions around the corner? Might be worth holding off, even if just to get a very high quality 1080p at a steep discount. 4k comparison: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/c/c6/Digital_video_resolutions_%28VCD_to_4K%29.svg/500px-Digital_video_resolutions_%28VCD_to_4K%29.svg.png
  19. Public safety should always be placed above the safety of police. Public gets the benefit of the doubt first. Police can not be above the same laws they enforce and must follow due process. Tyranny exists when the circumstances are reversed.
  20. Those guys deserve a paid vacation. Wait, I mean administrative leave with pay.

    Fiction Books

Might be a hefty recommendation now, but if you really get into reading pick up Infinite Jest. You'll learn a crapton of random stuff and it is entertaining at the same time. The read itself is across the spectrum of fiction. I'm working on them now. On the second book. Reading them diminishes the TV series, but that isn't a bad thing.
  22. I bought the bundle, being content to wait for the episodes as they come out.
  23. There is a DayZ thread somewhere. I played it and had a lot of fun, but personally lost interest in it very fast. Could be awesome in the future when polished out.
