@Shoop I appreciate you posting this up. The Epic rides are how I’ve met most of the guys I know on here. I don’t want to select a date because I’m not sure I can make any of the dates. Life as a husband and dad has really got in the way of riding this year. Once a date is selected I will try my best to make it out. I’m pretty sure I can’t make the 12th. If nobody votes, pick the best date for you and run with it.

@TimTheAzn Dang speedy. Nice work. It’s always fun when you’re winning no matter what you’re competing in.

I made a boneheaded move on 88 myself. Let’s just say I made a 3rd lane to complete my pass. I settled down a bit after that.

I just wipe mine down with kerosene on a rag. It works best if the chain is warm but I don’t always do that. It depends on if I catch it right after a ride or after I clean the bike. I spray it down with maxim chain wax. I stole this procedure from @Helmutt years ago. I typically get 15 to 20,000 miles out of a chain using this procedure. I typically clean and lube every 500 miles or so.

I’m cheap. No communications here . I play my music via earbuds in my helmet and that’s it. I have a car gps (told you I was cheap) mounted to my upper triple for navigation.

Home 470 miles. Thanks for reminding me Pauly that Ohio 250 is still a fun road to ride. I had a blast following you. I saw no wreckage but I did get damp near home. Glad you made it home safe. Nivin and Rick it was great to see you and ride with you again.

Is this ride still happening? I don’t want to leave at 6AM tomorrow and find nobody at the DQ. I rode the bike to work today and everything seems to be good.
-
Tim please keep those photos for your wife or whoever “she” is.
-
I’m looking forward to this ride. I’m hoping everything goes well tomorrow with the bike repair.

Pulled the tank and fuel pump tonight. UPS says I’ll have have the new pump tomorrow.

I’m at a high school right now for a volleyball tournament today. There’s a guy walking around trying to find who owns a black van because they parked it right in the middle of a motorcycle course they offer here. I guess the genius didn’t notice all the cones around the area where they have the course.

Fuel pump was shipped today. I may be in for this. If you’ll be stopping at least within say 120 miles or so.

I decided to bite the bullet and buy a new OEM fuel pump. It comes as a whole unit, regulator and all. The bike is doing the exact thing it did the first time I had problems with a fuel pump. The pump was even making a horrible whine yesterday at initial prime after my ride. Today after sitting the pump sounded fine when I cycled the key. I’m thinking the regulator is jacked since I just put a new pump in. It’s a costly part to replace, but the whine to me is a known issue and I want to eliminate it as a possible problem. If I have any problems after this I will start looking elsewhere. Thanks gentlemen for your input.

So I replaced my pump yet again the other day. Initial test seemed good, but today after a 150 mile loop. I still have issues. If I roll on everything works fine, but if I grab a handful it bogs out and then it will come in fine at times, but often just to stumble again as the bike makes its way through the RPMs. If I start from 1st gear and get after it and keep the RPMs up the bike seems to run fine. There is also surging, an almost pulsation of power at times. When holding throttle steady you can feel power come in and out. The bike acted like this years back and when I replaced the whole fuel pump assembly with a used EBay pump. After the swap everything was good. Then last year I had problems again. I purchased a highflow pump which was just the pump essentially and a new filter. I was concerned about the regulator, but highflow doesn’t have the regulator for my pump. I’m thinking the regulator is jacked. I created the post to essentially ask if anybody knows if a bad regulator could cause my issues. Any thoughts?

Glad you guys had a good ride. I did make it out this afternoon to find out I still have a running issue and I believe it stems back to my fuel pump. I think it was a good thing I didn’t make it.
-
Have fun @Skinny guy and @FatWilbur. I don’t see me making it. I just finished installing my new hot water tanK. I’m dead dog tired and don’t see me getting up early to make the trip. I’m glad I could play matchmaker for you two, however.
-
I’m probably going to have to cancel this. I took a lukewarm shower this morning and discovered my hot water tank is leaking. So my day of fun has probably turned into a workday. Sorry gentlemen. If I find out it’s an easy fix and I don’t have to replace the whole tank I’ll let you know.

I’m thinking we’ll be headed your way from Lisbon. 164S to 9S into Cadiz to 22W to 285 to 70 to 83 (New Concord around 10AM) to 313 over to 555. I’ll get a map together tomorrow, we can come up with a meet spot that doesn’t have you travel so far north, unless you want to do that.
-
I did that last weekend on 4 wheels. Maybe next time our schedules will match.
-
We’ll see if anybody else wants to ride and then go from there. I’m thinking around 8.
-
Rick, no matter which route I take I’ll be getting off rt11 at 154(Lisbon). There’s a BP right there that I think wouldn’t be too far from you. As far as keeping up, run your pace I’ll keep you in my mirror. When we’ve rode in the past you were pretty much right there. If that’s because you were pushing, just back out of it and if you start to fade I’ll slow down. You can even lead if you like and I’ll follow. Any preference which way we head?

I'm planning to ride Saturday. Anybody else riding? I'm thinking of running 555 to 550 or maybe to the end. I'd be up for a ride into WV, 250 to 7. If others prefer the normal run down 83,78,377 I could do that as well. I need to try to be back in Jefferson by 5 is my only requirement. Anybody up for a ride? My guess is the pace would be my normal med-fast to fast. Chime in if your interested.

@TimTheAzn what’s up with the leg hanging? And congrats

Just finished evicting the squealing pig from my gas tank. The initial test seems good, but since I go back to work tomorrow and the holiday weekend coming it will be awhile before I can give it a full day ride test.
