What forum is the solstice/sky discussed on?

Are you guys talking about the 84-01 Cherokee compact SUV or the 93-present Grand Cherokee, or does it matter. By Sport and that it is the boxy one I believe you are referring to the Cherokee. Also- are these manual transmission units or auto? Thanks!
-
wow- it seems the consensus is jeep! I will look there as well. My brother-in-law did have a grand cherokee with 180K miles on it. My dad's '87 4x4 Wrangler 4.0L straight six carburetted is a POS and it only has 4,000 miles. It has been crappy since the day he bought it. He said the next year they came out with a bigger fuel injected engine that supposedly was much better?

Hey all, I know opinions are like @#$ but what truck would you say would be best? Toyota Tacoma 4WD Ford Ranger 4WD Chevy S10 4WD Ford Explorer 4WD Others? Thanks!

Negative for me- Just keep it wrapped up- Do you really think the risk of cancer/other long term effects will be different for men? Any chronic xenobiotic substance will have long term ramifications of some sort that we are unable to predict/prevent regardless of how "smart" we think we are. And no I am not a vegan/alternative medicine fanatic. Bachelors in Molecular Biology and Masters in Molecular Genetics- PhD program that I resigned from.

Thanks for everyones time and effort to help me with the decision! So far of all of my favorite boards I asked, we are at Keep the Fox: 14 04 Cobra: 10 04 Z06:9 The wife is for the Z06 big time which I think will change with kids (if we are lucky enough to have any) in a few years. She has been harassing me constantly to drive one. I think what I have decided to do is keep the fox as long as I can, try to slim down my mod list to reduce my average monthly expenditure, get a 4wd beater truck for work/terrible weather / and when I want to set my fox on fire with frustration (needed to anyhow, construction project manager), test drive an 04 cobra and an 04 z06, see if I have to switch after a month after the drive (hopefully not), and console myself that maybe if I wait the c6 z06 will be the price of c5 z06s by the time I am ready. Heck I REALLY want a z06 based GTM supercar from Factory Five to build from scratch anyways ;-) Maximum Motorsports wins out for now :-) Thanks again!

Hey all, First off, I love my 1990 Coupe... It is my daily driver, sun, rain, snow, ice, etc and has been great. I have read before about lots of people that get rid of their foxes and regret it and end up rebuying later. So, I am on the fence, it is currently faster in a straight line than both of these cars (Cobra and Z06) I am looking at but the brakes and handling are nowhere near, and as a daily ride, albeit with worn out components it is quite harsh. Also, the fact that it always has a minor coolant leak or an oil leak, or something aggravating is getting old as well. So do I pony up another 3-4 grand and overhaul the suspension/brakes/seats with all of the best from ford racing and maximum motorsports, or call it quits, sell it for a loss and step up to a factory built performer in all directions. I have always wanted a z06 since they came out and I do not have any children currently but they are probably 3-4 years off if things work out (back seat/financial restrictions) The fox has no payment, but if I divide everything I spent on it over the 3 years I have had it, it would cost be about 150-200 more a month for the corvette depending on what I can sell my stang for. The z06's are 28-35. Haven't priced the cobras yet but I expect them to be 18-25. I would not modify either beyond a shifter/exhaust dumps/cold-air as I want factory reliability. Will be a daily driver as the fox. Keeping both is not an option as #1 can't afford it, #2 only have a 2 car garage and the wife has to have a car oops here is a link to my current car: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2697057 Thanks! Andrew

kirks thanks for the reply- obviously as it is newer, the cobra is more reliable as well, not as many aggravating, coolant, oil, vacuum leaks over time?
-
BTW man- I say cobra as well as this is one of the two cars I am looking at as well. How does an 03-04 cobra ride/handle? I have plenty of acceleration now in my fox but I am getting fed up with the ride/handling and the fact that there is always some little thing to fix as it is modified and not factory sealed... daily driver. Either a stock 03-04 cobra or a stock 02-04 z06.

Rank your car revisited... looks pretty accurate

Perhaps I missed it but where is the listing like this for ET w/ scanned timeslips? -
What kind of camera/lens combo is that? The colors/clarity are amazing.
-
2007 Shelby GT500 can only do 5.0 13.6. That's sad.
-
how in the world did you find that?
-
shoulda woulda coulda.
-
What did the yellow c6 that raced Buck531 have for modifications?
-
Why did you have the heads o-ringed? Current timeslips? Any recent compression/leak down results?

When we were looking to get our rsx-s the other cars we were looking at which you might like are the neon srt-4 and the wrx. I could have had the neon for 20,000 out the door brand new. It was definitely a thrill and was my favorite but I am short and I had to move the seat forward and my knees hit the underside of the dash with the viper seat option and I liked the interior in the rsx better. I also didn't think it would be as reliable as the rsx as it had clutch chatter after my test drive. I wasn't a big fan of the wrx as I was used to the torque of a v8 and figured the turbo lag would get annoying. On my test drive I hammered it at a green light and it did nothing through the entire intersection, after the intersection however, hold on. All of these cars were in the 20s brand new. wrx was high 20s though. That said even with the RSX-S we bought, I missed the rwd v8 so much I gave it to my wife and got a fox body that I drive in the rain and snow and runs low 12s. Thank you positraction. I only got stuck one time last year and that was because they didn't plow my street with 4-6" of snow- I almost made it.

My wife's Acura RSX-S is a lot of fun and great in the snow.

Yeah- what kind of transmission/driveline do those EVOs have to take that kind of abuse... You know what- this board needs a shout box like buckeyestangs.com.. I love that feature...
-
haha- I went to the same events- can't believe it has been 10 years! I remember the first guy to get a blower on an lt1 car-

Hats off to columbus racing for putting on a great event! Thanks to anthony and chris for being dilligent in tech and coordination, thanks for the water box help and backups amy, and to all of the fast cars out there to make me want to spend more money on mine ;-) Anyone that organize/worked the event- what a sacrifice- THANK YOU!

Kohones C5 Z06 vs 5.0 coupe I can't wait to see your car... I have never seen an 02-04 z06 do anything but look good. Laters, Andrew

no offense but adjustable cables are far inferior in quality to OE cables. Again, I would go with the longer maximum motorsports cable. When I got my car with a "new" FMS HD clutch, I could barely push the pedal with all of my strength. I switched to a king cobra and it wasn't much better. I checked my cable routing which was incorrect and it got slightly better. I got the max motorsports quadrant, cable, and firewall adjuster and I swear the pedal pressure was reduced by 50%. I wouldn't recommend their firewall adjuster though as mine was occasionaly needing readjustment as it doesnt lock. A bit of permatex fixed it but I would get another brand on that- UPR or fiore microclick. You will need a firewall adjuster with a factory style non adjustable cable and no plastic pawl under the dash that kirk is referring to. Good luck!

fwiw the stock cable is not adjustable. I would say to get a maximum motorsports universal mustang clutch cable- factory ford but longer and made a miracle of a difference on my car.
