  1. little of payback for all of us that have been run over by cagers while obeying all traffic laws and attempting to enjoy a summer ride on the bike.
  2. well Hywstar... If the herd of deer I was approaching subscribed to your logic then I indeed would have been in error to lay the bike down. I'm not positive, but I am 99% sure that a herd of deer don't give a fuck about logic, statistics, or what you or others think. You can not predict the path of those things, only thing I knew for sure was that stopping the bike while leaned into a turn meant I was going to hit a frick'n deer. Oh yeah, that's right, bikes don't like to come to quick stops when leaned into a turn....
  3. spray on tint does work on plastic, just not well. Polycarbonate expands/contracts less than standard auto glass. The reason folks use the tint film instead of spray on is because the spray on is so much messier.
  4. he did NOT lay the bike down, he lost control and wrecked. Point blank. There's a difference between laying the bike down an dropping the bike. He dropped it. Looks like he panicked and locked up the rear without using any front brake.
  5. I can see it, anyone else getting the red X
  6. yup and he could have payed the witnesses that stated it wan't him as well.
  7. some days I really REALLY want to cover up everything on my bike that has HD stamped on it...
  8. My i500 finally took a crap on me back in early October. I'm glad the droid wasn't out then 'cause that would have made my phone decision a hell of a lot more difficult. I like the iPhone, but no enough to dump Sprint for AT&T. I ended up w/the Pre. I like it, but if the droid would have been out at the time I got the Pre, pretty sure my head would have exploded trying to decide between the two
  9. P.S. an emergency stop with cold tires ends up being more of an emergency slow down. Keep that in mind while you're out there riding during the cooler days.
  10. OK asshat... Yes I did CHOOSE to lay the bike down after scrubbing as much speed as I could. Given the distance to the deer and my now adjusted speed I decided it was in my best interest to lean as hard left as quickly as possible and let the bike go. I decided to lay the bike down, I did NOT lose control.
  11. Casper my friend, why are you jealous? Weather is 70 in OH today

    HID's?

not to mention that you will need to mod your lows to stay on when the highs are on, otherwise you will have a few seconds of dark waiting for the highs to warm up.
  13. Not sure I would post blonde jokes and then misspell blonde in the title of the thread.

  16. jblosser: thanks for the insight. Wife's laptop is less than a year old, running Vista (home edition), and she's been having ongoing issues w/Vista just randomly disconnecting her from our router (only on her Vista laptop, my garage laptop w/XP pro and the MAC have zero issues w/losing the network). I would prefer a clean install on a new hard drive, but that is just a bit of a pain in the arse with a Dell laptop.
  17. isn't the purpose of ABS to ensure a controlled no skid stop/brake? Your logic is flawed on TOO many levels to get into. I came around a sweeping left blind turn at night and was treated to herd of 7 or so deer slowly crossing the road at about 45mph (speed limit was 50). I heard the dear before my headlights lit them up. At the time I had two choices, stand the bike up straight and make an emergency stop and pray I stop before going over and down the 20' drop, or just brake hard and lay the bike down on left side. I chose to brake hard (no tire skid) and lay the bike down. The deer ran off, I took a leak, picked up the bike, and rode home. Yeah, sometimes laying the bike down is the better of the options presented to you. Ride a few more years in weather other than perfect 90 degrees & sunny, and you may learn that.
  18. wife's machine is barely a year old and is Win 7 "ready". Has anyone upgraded to win 7 and have comments on how the install went? Did you do a clean install or just an upgrade? Were there any problems or any data lost or corrupted? Seriously considering upgrading to Win 7 on the wife's machine, but want to know the pitfalls before I begin.
