Josh1234
http://www.gentlemansride.com/sponsor/country/united+states?ride_id=79 that Amanda chick looks cute & rides! Maybe I'll sign up! Actually, rides like these are probably good publicity for the board. Edited August 20, 2014 by Josh1234
rawlins87
They types of bikes they exclude will eliminate the majority of OR from riding. No sports bikes allowed.
Gixxus Christ!
If it was closer I'd ride...cbus is a long haul on a 40 yr old bike and I just despise cleveland.

Bad324
The VFR isn't a sport bike and it's not a sport tourer therefore it must be an "unidentifiable 2 wheeled machine"
Bubba
Apparently, I don't qualify. Although I am old, I am neither distinguished nor a gentleman. That, and I don't want to hack off the front and rear fenders of my WeeStrom so I can call it a 'bobber'…. If anyone is willing to lend me their classic, impeccably restored Ariel Square 4 for this event, please PM me early enough so that I may at least grow a bushy beard. mango_sv
The FZ-09 I feel is an unidentifable 2 wheel machine.Edit: but I'll be on a better ride:http://www.dierks.com/milesandmusic.html Edited August 21, 2014 by mango_sv
smccrory
I SO want to take my '66 CB77 in my best tweeds, but she won't be runnable until spring.
rollnhot
Sounds like they're profiling, because we don't wear gay shit like the fruits in that pic or ride old ass bikes. Oops I think I'm guilty too.

NinjaDoc
this is from there website I don’t have a Café Racer, Bobber, classic, retro or custom bike. Can I take part? The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is specifically for these types of bikes as it is a piece of theater as much as it is a ride. The specific, niche look of the bikes matches the ‘dapper’ theme. If you don’t have one of the bikes described, you can always help in other ways, such as with fundraising. We do apologize but ultimately opening the events to the broader 2 wheeled community would be unmanageable.

It means I can't participate this year, but I think theirs is a fair policy and they explain the rationale better than I could have. Next year I hope to have my CB77 ready to go. smccrory
Sounds like pompous bullshit to me. Vs. riding more HP than you can legally exercise on U.S. roads just for the fun of it? It's just cosplay for the heck of it, man - different strokes for different folks - no different than dressing up like a pro racer wannabe or a pirate or Ewan McGreggor.

smccrory
wtf is cosplay?! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosplay Basically going to a convention dressed as a character is costume play. Going to a party in an outfit is kind of watered down costume play. Same with wearing lots of sports memorabilia or dressing up in period costume before riding a motorcycle.
