Next year's Gap trip will be the same weekend. Most folks need it to be over a weekend for time off work. You can always come earlier or stay later.

No, no...I get that, and we agree.  But for good, clean passes on most of these roads everyone knows M-Th is always best.

Also, next year we'll be somewhere else.

That's fine with us.  Our first time at Fontana and it's over rated, but the cabin privacy is nicer here than IronHorse.  The place for next year will be better for sure.

Had a clean run on the cherahola both ways. Rolled up on a semi that couldn't make a turn on 129 just a few miles south of the 28 intersection. Just squeezed by or it would have been a long afternoon.

Lucky it wasn't worse.  Old horror stories of riders coming around a corner and packing into the back of stopped trucks always run through my head when I'm riding down here.  Good meeting you and the wife today too

I vote next year we have this thing on a Sunday to Thursday or somthing like that. Because these stupid Fucking rolling road blocks that roll 30 to 40 fucking slow ass MOTHER FUCKING PIRATE LOOKING FUCKS ON THIER SLOW ASS FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT RUMBLE BOXES IS GETTING FUCK OLD REAL FUCKING QUICK!!!!

I'm sitting on 28 at the corner of 143 waiting for one of those groups to get far enough ahead so I can ha e a decent ride back to Fontana. What is the point of rolling that many bikes together at 20 mph under the speed limit? Didn't see any of that earlier in the week.

FUCk!!!!!!!!!

We used Saturday and Sunday as our travel days from AZ and arrived Sunday afternoon. It was raining pretty good and we were tired so we didn't get any Sunday riding in as planned. Then we rode Monday through Thursday with a little on Friday for a total of about 1200 miles. Every day got progressively busier as far as traffic goes. Not sure when I'll make it back or there again but I'll definitely plan on song most of my riding mon-Thurs again.

Home. It was a blast and thanks everyone that rolled with me, I enjoyed it. And a special thanks to Jamie and Dan for saving me Saturday night, I had a really bad food day and was crashing hard.

Just got home, I made excelent time. My feet literally touch the ground twice since I left Fontana. Once in Maryville to top off and the second time for gas, piss and Gatorade just north of Lexington. Took exactly 7 hours.

Had a blast as usual, new faces old faces and great stories. Thanks to everyone for making it a wonderful time.

Just made it home. Left Fontana around 6am. 129,411,75,64,7 home. I made good time but was struggling with dehydration. What an amazing weekend. It was great to meet everyone and I can't wait for another meetup/ride. Photos and videos will be showing up soon.

Home, unloaded, and waiting on a pizza while we unpack.  Had a great time, and was good catching up with the familiars, and meeting some new folks too.

@JustinNck1 had a blast riding TN, NC, SC, and GA with ya Friday.  Best time I've ever had getting lost over and over LOL.  Didn't get to ride with anyone else since Jen and I rode out right after checking into Fontana Thursday, and Saturday was taken meeting up with family in Gatlinburg.

Jim, that apple pie shine went down like koolaid, but snuck up on me like a ninja, damned tastey stuff.  Had a hell of a time getting up the hills to our cabin Friday night.  I blame that mostly on Godzilla.  Blew my head clean off....fuckabuncha that shit!  Way out of my comfort zone :D

And Dan taking off to bear hunt with just a flashlight and a camera?  Almost as foolish as jumping over the fire, you crazy bastid!

Here's to next year, at a new place, similarly cooperative weather, and same great times!

I am back in the kitchen.

I had a blast. Watching Hellmutt walk up the hill was fun until I realized I might have to carry him.

I did see 3 turtles, a chicken crossing the road and 2 bear cubs.

It was great meeting new faces and hanging out with familiar faces.

@Dizzledan did you burn all the wood?

We did about 1500 miles total, but 800 of that was in the truck :D

Thanks for the beer!  My wife was pretty sure she saw your wife walking away from our cabin this morning.  Appreciate it, and good to meet you two

What a great time! Nice being able to hang and ride with old and new friends. I made it home around 5:30. Slabbed it halfway through Kentucky, then did 2 lanes to Columbus.
