Orion
Most of the elite recruits are already committed to schools, I think this years class will be a bad one. Next year they may be able to land some recruits based on his name alone, but I still don't see them going much better than they did this year @Utah Oregon St UNLV BYU @Maryland Northwestern Michigan St @Minnesota Rutgers @Indiana @Penn St Ohio State I could see them winning 8 or 9 games next year. Buckeye fan might forget/not know it, but Shane Morris was one of the top 5 QB's when they signed him. Brady mismanaged the shit out of that kid. If they can get some decent o-line play, they could very well be a dangerous opponent.
DaddyBuiltRacing
Shane Morris was a 7 on 7 camp warrior that played weak competition in highschool (Michigan highschool football is not good). I follow recruiting very tightly so I am aware of who Shane Morris is. They are also losing their best offensive player in Funchess and have an offensive line that is worse than some Ohio highschool teams. Harbaugh has his work cut out for him, this isn't an Urban situation at all. OSU was a train wreck for 1 year, Michigan has been for the last 7 years (minus the first year of Hoke). I think in 3-4 years they will be back as a powerful team, which is a good thing. I just wonder how long Harbaugh stays at Michigan before the NFL draws him back, over/under 4 years? I'm not arguing that it will be difficult, I'm just saying that I am not sold on them being an under 500 team next year. I think we agree that it will take a Jim Harbaugh type effort to do it, though. Thats tough. I think that if you are UM, you have a max of 4 years to just completely sell him on the college experience/make him want to not leave. The problem is that he actually had some success in the NFL, so you know that some other desperate squad will come knocking at some point and offer to give him complete control...which is probably what it will take to get him back in the League. I guess we'll see, though.
sol740
Michigan may have found their John Cooper. Good for them. I look forward to Urban and Co. dismantling their hopes for postseason glory.

Orion
I am going to just let this one sit here He's right. As long as there is only one team (2, if you count MSU) in the conference that is a legit top 25 squad, then the conference will continue to be mostly irrelevant. You have no further to look than FSU to see that in action. All they have done is win for the past two seasons, and everyone in the country questions whether they are legit or not based upon the fact that they are the only legit team in a terrible conference. Aaron
eh, Ohio state will always be relevant. Its whether or not we have to overcome the conference stigma. Better teams will only help us, but if we play well, we will always be in contention for the playoff, as evidence by this years outcome. Dr. Pomade
Any interest in grabbing beers and wings either tonight (12/29), tomorrow night (12/30), or New Year's Day? Related question, where is everyone watching the game? I don't have cable (and I can't ever seem to get streaming to work correctly), so I'm looking to camp out at a sports bar. Two of my favorite spots are Bar 145 and BW3's in Grandview.

Dr. Pomade
You know casino is actually a great idea for New Year's Day. Plenty of TVs, plenty of food, gambling options, etc.

bicranium
Harbaugh will probably get a handful of relatively elite players to flip/commit to Michigan before signing day and have to scramble a bit to fill the rest of the class. Apparently he already committed a recruiting violation by somehow contacting OSU commit Mike Weber or his family before signing his contract. If he went to Weber that quick who knows who else he called.
DKilbourne
Live presser of urban on espn now.....just watched highlights of amari cooper.....I knew he was good, but damn! he is nfl prototype with good size and great speed.....woof. DaddyBuiltRacing
Had a dream last night that OSU was playing FSU. OSU was down 23-17 when Vonn Bell intercepted a pass. That's all I can remember of the dream, but one thing I took away from it is OSU/FSU were in the NCG haha. Oh yeah OSU was wearing dark grey jerseys with almost a digital camo pattern on them. Harbaughs contract is basically the same he had in San Fran, said he didnt want to be the highest paid, wants money to be spent on assistant coaches Urban on Cardale "he had a great day yesterday throwing and catching" Hmm...can we say Marshall to Jones for a TD? I think a lot of the early reports had him above $6m/yr then it ended up being around $4.5m/yr to free more cash for assistants.
