I see there's a fine line between being fashionably late and arriving after the party is over. I took a 5-minute nap and now......where am I? Though I wasn't asleep for 20 years, I do feel a little like Rip Van Winkle, poking my head back in here and questioning whether or not the site is still active. I'm happy to see that there are still some names popping up that I remember. They just don't seem to be popping up very often. The post just before this one is over a year old. Where did everyone go?

After 30 years at the Post Office, I retired at the end of April. They offered 15k USD for people eligible, to go find something else to do. I'm still waiting on what is called an "undeleted" DD214. I was told it could take eight to ten weeks to get it from the VA archives. The P.O. is getting tired of waiting for me to send it. I'm getting tired of waiting for it to show up. The VA still has not processed my request. Until then, the P.O. will not process my retirement. What am I doing with my time? I'm staying up late, sleeping late, and relaxing. I need a routine but I'm not ready for one, yet. I have access to a half-acre, double city lot with a 20x24 block building with a walk thru door, and a roll up door. Urban farming is becoming real trendy, and I've been doing a lot of studying about farming/market gardening. I should be getting a nice lump sum for my unused vacation, plus ten of the fifteen k they have promised. There is a farmers market two miles from where I'll be growing onions and lettuce, carrots and greens, and quick to mature produce. I'll take the money and purchase a two wheel walk behind tractor with interchangeable implements. If I can make enough to pay property taxes and buy a new bike, I'll be happy.

The folks I know that have an I3 love them and talk about them so much that I'm going to have to ride one. We bought a used travel van for dog show trips a couple weeks ago. Now I'm spending all my free time making stuff to turn it into a Mutt Hutt dog transportation vehicle. I'm also fixing all the things that fall off and rattle enough to be extremely annoying. Good thing I'm not working and can get right on these things on my schedule only thing is the boss is very demanding.

You fuckers will never be banning me for such an offense. They don't even make Goldwings with inline four engines so therefore inferior. Why would one want a motorcycle that slow? I hear they are equivalent to an Accord and just about as much fun.

Its been a few quite a few years since If been on the group site. Old OR member. Could not get into my old Thunder99 account, so I figured I could start from scratch. Looking to shake the trees and see who I can find. I have still been riding but not as much as would like. Time to take some me time and enjoy getting back out.

All is good now. Pulled the tank dump the gas, wiped out as much as we could. Gave it a quick rinse. Fresh gas and seafoam and she's running like a dream again.

Aftermarket gas cap with failed o-rings due to them not being ethanol compatible and 10years old. Parked under the eve of the building to where basically a waterfall was on the tank of my bike for hours in a monsoon. Equals probably a half a gallon of water in the gas tank.

He cleaned his bike then the downpours overnight added about a gallon of water to the gas tank due to a leaking gas cap.

Any particular reason he tried that?

Apparently Kawasakis can’t run on 50/50 water and gasoline…

I mean, what other choice did he have?
