hey I'm still here! Sure some threads get a little out of control but at least we get the idea of what OR is about in the beginning instead of lying to everyone and pretending it's all sweet and innocent in the intro thread and then blowing up in others. whether its in the intro thread or another thread if OR scares someone, they leave no matter what. The intro thread just gets them a little acclimated to OR and gives them an idea of what to expect.

2002-2009 vfr's are all the basically the same with a minor update in 06. The one tpoppa posted is a good deal. So buying a newer bike than you have would be the vfr1200 and good luck finding one for 7k.

We men do not have the sensitivities of women. How we perceive comments and talk from other men is not how it is perceived by women, especially younger ones and ones that have just stepped in through the OhioRiders' door for their very first time. I wouldn't mind having more ladies on the forum. We only get one chance to make a first impression. Let's make a good one. Making them feel truly welcome is the key to having them spread the word among their female friends that OhioRiders is a good place to spend some time. Just as easily, they can say this is a good forum to stay away from. I prefer they come back and bring friends. These women are mothers, sisters, grandmothers, girlfriends, and wives. If we want them to come back, it would not be a bad idea to give the impression that we possess qualities somewhat reflective of gentlemen. .

Not uptight at all. Just asking for a bit of decorum on the forum. There is a time and place for everything and I do not believe that "INTRO" threads are the appropriate place for general sophomoric comments. Is it too much to ask to keep it civil, friendly and respectful at hello? There are plenty of places on the forum to show your true colors and mix it up with the ladies if they so choose to join in. Maybe, just maybe - a few more women might feel comfortable to join and stick around if they are not virtually hit on from the beginning.

Have to say, this whole thread is rather pathetic. OR is for motorcylists in and around Ohio and if a girls comes here to actually participate in the sport, she would probably be scared away. Congrats on being mature motorcycling enthusiasts and welcoming someone to the sport and the site. Mods should have stepped in here along time ago and with the few other threads where girls have joined. Leave the welcome and ride threads to simply that. If someone chooses to engage in other content in the Time Waster sections then so be it. For shame, most of you. And welcome to the OP. (assuming this isn't a troll thread)
