  1. Wow, that was sweet! Some cajones going on and some very narrow sections. Great 2 strokes.... point, shoot, point, shoot, awesome.
  2. On meters, I'm not a fan of the green/yellow/red light style because the range of the green is too wide and into the problem area in the low end. A digital is way better so you can see the trend of what is going on with the bike. Here's a link with plenty of ideas..... Lots guys just buy a waterproof meter from ebay........ http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/index.php/topic/70384-post-your-voltmeter-mount-pics/ The thing with the charging system is the components are undersized and if something goes, it tend to take other stuff with it if its not fixed in a reasonable time frame. Plenty of guys on the stator connector either cut it out and solder direct or replace it with a much larger connector such as a Delphi MetriPack.
  3. If your bike is in the 40k - 50k + range, yes, you are due for a charging system check. OEM stators typically will eat it at 50k, RR's much less. I'm not sure exactly what the 6th gen electric recall was about, but agree its a waste of bucks to reinstall OEM R/Rs, The stock stator is decent. That said, I recently fixed a '07 that the stator died at 15k miles, and it was the factory part.
  4. Nice viffer gump. I'm with Bad, check out the charging system, especially the stator to R/R connector. They tend to burn. - I'm a bit of a VFR charging system guru if you have any questions. The on-board voltmeter is a good idea.
  5. Awesome ride. I have lusted for a ride on the K1600GT version for quite a while. Come spring, give us a ride report.
  6. Welcome dude -- ok I gots to know, how did you get that bike on the kitchen table?
  7. Aw, dammit, your gonna make me spend money!
  8. The Original Honda spray polish http://www.originalbikespirits.com/products/spray-cleaner-polish/
  9. Link works, but no sign of a Civic.......
  10. Interesting site for a resource, but isnt it a copyright cluster fxxk? Just curious....
  11. Yeah - FI started on VFRs in '98s and forward....
  12. Kinda agree with that. I have had 3 jobs in the last 2 years. I am an engineer/project manager and none of the jobs turned out to be close to what the companies said they would be like in the interview. Even in my current job, its way far from what they told me it was supposed to be. I'm back to another stay or go conundrum.
  13. If you can, ride a 5th gen before you buy. '98s and '99s are the most coveted 5th gens. The RC30 for me would be the holy grail........
  14. Not bad for a 700 dollar beater. GLWS
  15. I'm local, I'll have to pay a visit.........
  16. Are you guys in that shopping center or across the street by the KFC? (Springboro)
  17. I've changed jobs several times in the last 3 years and every time, I had to do an I-9. Its a proof of citizenship status doc for the Homeland Security department. The person starting the job has to provide 2 photo IDs to proof legal status. The employer has to sign off that they inspected the photos and sign it as certification.
  18. If you still have them around xmas, chances are I'll grab a set. Bucks are low for the moment. They are my fav VFR tire.
  19. Agree Elio's business model seems to be a long shot, but I'm routing for them. Anyhoo, here's action on some engine work http://us6.campaign-archive2.com/?u=24b371802c83d81776b06aa68&id=9f913529d9&e=7b7037cc05
  20. Thanks for the heads up CSC ... I had been tempted to try it. Sounds delish....
