additional training may have though, and that's the whole point of graduated licensing. -

The difference is everyone has to go through pretty rigorous (compared to what we have at least) training prior to getting a permit, and then are limited to certain displacements until they can prove they are good enough riders to handle more powerful machines. Licensing for cars is a lot more strict too, with defensive driving courses as mandatory and a lot more instructional time behind the wheel. Meanwhile in the USA, Johnny Littledick can go buy a 220 horsepower superbike off the showroom floor and ride away without ever having been on a motorcycle before. Generally this does not end well. -

Licensing in general should be more strict here. -
Sounds like your bike is doing its best to winterize itself so you don't have to.

me, fast. there's the joke of the day. 😂

If i get a grom and strap all my luggage to it, will you all wait for me at every stop sign?

Few of us have signed up for the Little Talladega GP STT day down in Alabama on 11/24. Only $99 per day with free photos and a Yamaha demo truck. Not a bad deal at all.

Weather seems great, have fun guys.
-
ya'll have a fun, safe trip

There's also a $90/day weekend put on at Little Taladega the weekend of thanksgiving, like 30 mins from Barber. 129photos.com/STT is doing it I think. Last year they had some MotoA guys there as coaches. Looks like they will have Yamaha demos there this year as well... maybe JD and Cam will show up https://www.sportbiketracktime.com/index.php?_route_=tracktime/bystate/alabama/talladegagp&product_id=842

suzuki really needs a new design department. out of all the big manufacturers, they have the worst aesthetic.

My guess is that the lean angle is limited mostly by the tires at this point. Toss some standard sport tires on there and it will be good. One other thing that may limit its ability to corner is the wheelbase. The Indian has a 60" wheelbase, most sportbikes have 55" or less.

harley really better get their shit together. what kind of power does this bike make, and can you fit a 180+ rear on it?

Any of you that have ridden with me over the last 3 years know this bike. I haven't ridden it really at all this year except down at the Gap, since my focus has shifted more towards racing and track and I don't want it just sitting around because it's a great bike, and it deserves a great, active lifestyle. I wasn't going to post this until spring, but I figured why not get a head start. I don't have a lot of aftermarket on this bike. Here's a list of what it does have: New grips - old grips were worn Fresh DID chain + sprockets, probably only 200 miles on them if even Fly screen/cowl over headlights Center stand - currently off the bike but is easy to re-attach Dunlop Q3's - takeoffs from my track bike, only had 1 track day on them... still some life left, maybe 30 or 40% Battery Tender leads - I know, can you believe I'm willing to let this go with the bike? Wow! Everything else is stock. I keep up with maintenance. It has had the 12,000 and 24,000 mile services done at Motohio. The bike had 22,000 miles at the time, I just decided to get it done early so I didn't have to bring it in over the summer. I don't think I actually hit 24,000 yet. I'm the 3rd owner.

ABS is probably most handy when you're already tipped in and have to panic brake or you're on a slick surface. Straight up and down on dry pavement, you will flip the bike over before the front locks up... if you're not an idiot that goes 0-100% on brake pressure in a split second I guess. Could lock the front that way maybe.

not sure if he made it but a post on CR said he lost his leg below the knee and was in pretty bad shape.

As crappy as they have turned (for the most part, there are still a few good ones around), unions used to be good because they guaranteed worker's rights and a livable, even decent wage. Now days unions are on the way out because of endless lobbying by corporations because in their ideal world the working class would just be indentured servants, receiving no pay and living in company towns run on company credits... much like the railroad, oil and coal companies used to do in the late 1800's to early 1900's. It wasn't a good time. There is nobody left to fight for worker's rights and uphold standards except for the companies themselves and the US government. Also, not a good time. Do I think people who work hard deserve a wage that lets them not live in their cars with their 4 kids, barely able to afford food let alone other life necessities? Yes. Yes I do. I also believe healthcare is a matter of national security as is education therefore it should fall under the responsibilities of the government to the people along with defense and infrastructure. Probably not popular opinions but that's fine. Accomplishing all this would require a large shift though so I don't really see it happening. I agree that guaranteed outcome is a bad idea so don't lump me in with those red commie bastards, but there is a better way for our country to run, both for its citizens and for industry.

I'm selling my Triumph, buying a cheap Grom/Z125 for the yearly gap trip and general low speed tom-foolery and going almost 100% track and racing. If track doesn't sound interesting to you Tony, maybe it's just time for a break? No shame in that.

It will be a different bike for me next year. Right now it is +1T in the front which makes it ride more like a 600. I am going to either go back to stock or -1T on the front to help with drive... which will take the relatively tame nature of the CBR now (for a 1k) and turn it into a wheelie monster. Honestly it will be good for me to go to a new track after making the change since I will be learning from 0 and not have to break old shifting habits. Blind stuff doesn't really bug me, once I get the lines down. At Mid-O I start to get tired after about 15 minutes at pace. I need to work on stamina this winter along with my weight-loss/muscle maintenance plan. Especially for the more technical and demanding tracks.

There are only tears here. Also I want to ride Pitt. N2 next year as much as I can. @Jester_ good video - putting in some work, seems like a tiring track.

Yeah, I'm watching the forecast. Right now 35-40% from 11am-1pm and partly cloudy the rest of the day. I'll probably end up going since I need to spend this cert this year and this is just about my last chance. One or 2 more shots in October but not sure yet on those because of work.
