  1. Ditto, and my work schedule filled up after a nasty drive in so I decided to have lunch at my desk. I do want to look at textile jackets soon though - hoping they have some sales on the medium-level stuff.
  2. I went with the 6 (not 6+) and think it's an ok phone, but I hate the side-mounted power button because you end up squeezing the volume buttons when trying to operate it. The fingerprint scanner sucks too, so I don't use it. The camera is good quality. The size is a little big for my medium-sized hands to completely hold - my 5 was definitely a better fit.
  3. Ok, that's news to me, thanks. I bet I bought the last case of ammo for my own SKS around then. I still have some left, being that I strongly prefer to shoot rifles outdoors but don't get to outdoor ranges often enough.
  4. Was steel core 7.62x39 banned for sale, or just offensive to indoor shooting ranges wanting to protect their backstops? It's been a while since I bought surplus 7.62, so maybe I'm just out of it, but I swear I see it at gun shows...?
  5. LOL, thanks for the smile man, I needed it!
  6. Ugh, not good to hear. I switched from Progressive to Rider last summer but haven't used any of the coverages.
  7. I got fleeced! [emoji23]. Amazing how prices of lithium packs have plummeted in recent years. I remember 2.2Ah RC helicopter batteries at $65. Now they're under ten bucks.
  8. Was $39 for a 16.8Ah with a cool charging display. I paid $49 for my 10Ah with a more basic LED UI.
  9. That's a really good idea. I know pilots have done this around the country to establish private airfields - often with "aeropark" hangar-homes in stunningly beautiful areas. I mention it because I bet there are similar "risk" provisions in the LLCs, as well as mutual "common area" maintenance expectations, etc. Radio controlled airplane clubs also do this.
  10. Is it wrong of me not to want to be in the woods during days especially carved out for novice hunters?
  11. Very good price on a 16.8Ah portable USB power bank. I have a 10Ah one and use it on camp-and-rides for my phone and Sena headset. http://electronics.woot.com/offers/lifecharge-16-800mah-dual-usb-power-bank?utm_source=woot&utm_medium=share&utm_campaign=wootapp
  12. My coworker collects them with his son and uses them as an opportunity to teach him safe blade handling, carving and utility. My daughter has... minimal interest in such activities.
  13. Madcat you're asking good questions. I'm pretty new to this as well. I carried a pocket knife when I was a kid (back when you didn't have to be worried about school expulsions) but only recently started 30 years later. I had completely forgotten how useful a good pocket knife is for opening mail and food packages, removing (larger) splinters, stripping electrical wires, cutting rope, trimming errant threads from clothing, etc. It's also a little comforting to know they could be used defensively, especially in criminal protection zones (places with "no guns" signs). A couple years ago I found on the ground a really nice 4" Spyderco folder with a sweet Japanese VG-10 blade. It's too big for me to carry every day but it got me thinking about knives again, and I went through a couple cheep-and-cheerful ones before picking up a SOG Flash 1 with AUS-8 steel. I paid about $35 shipped and I couldn't be happier with its size, speed and half-serrated edge (mainly because those serrations are excellent for stripping wire, cutting cardboard and rope). Like CSC says, better blade steel, and things like G10 handles make the prices go up, but even if you're not a collector, the higher prices may be justified if the features, weight, quality and just "connection" in your hand say so, though I'd have a hard time spending over $100 for a knife, but that's just me. Maybe I'll change my mind if I find one that "just fits." Lord knows I've spent more on other hobbies for lesser reasons.
  14. Yea, mine came sharp from the factory, but not like my SOG came - wicked sharp. Still, like you said, the rest of the knife (to me anyway) is awesome and a steal for $20 shipped.

    FS: Kahr CM9

Anyway... the CM9 (like the PM9) is VERY well liked in Kahr circles for their accuracy and firepower-to-weight ratio. They seem to be a great choice for someone looking for a thin, lightweight CC gun that's stronger than a .380.
  16. Very, very nice, and ditto CSC's sentiment!
  17. The only thing I don't like about that safety lock is that I can't figure out how to unlock it single-handed since the leaf spring is so, so stiff. It doesn't effect its use, but I can't open and close it on the couch with as much self-entertainment value as I can my other ones. :-)

    FS: Kahr CM9

PM me if you're selling the Kahr because you had feed issues. Lots of guys on the KahrTalk forums found that a few basic prep steps made that gun everything they wanted. I did the same to my CM45 and it made all the difference in the world. Also if you're not dead-set on a G42 or Shield, I can't speak highly enough about 2nd gen Ruger LCPs. Lighter (12 oz AUW) and much thinner than the G42 and very accurate within 35 feet. Lots of great concealment options for 'em too.
  19. I've been handling and wearing the CRKT since yesterday and I really like it. Feels well-balanced and I dig the blade size, shape and width. Just feels well-designed.
  20. Very true! What can I say, I'm a slut. I want both a Zero and an old R/60.
  21. Got mine today! Nice weight and balance. Feel solid and I love the matte handle finish. Really nice long clip too - will be great for outside-the-pocket carry when necessary by law. My only complaint is that the liner lock is too stiff, so I'll try to break it in some.
  22. Damn! Sorry to hear dude, and make sure to clean that wound good. I avoided knifes (except in the kitchen) for most of my life due to several nasty and potentially life-threatening cuts when I was younger. Funny thing is that I never did more than nick myself with a butterfly, but broken glass, exposed sheet metal and a spinning dremel cutting disc made me real worrisome about blades thenafter.
  23. It is definitely unique which is reason enough for getting one at that price. That said, the AUS-4 steel and high-ride clip makes me hesitate. That price is nice, but I got my SOG Flash 1 for only $15-20 more and it's half the weight, has a reversible deep-pocket clip, uses better steel (AUS-8) and might be a little easier to grip.
