My telelever blew a fork seal at 30k miles and covered the whole front of the bike in fork oil limping it home 100 miles. First on the road failure I ever had on a bike.
Seneca Rocks and Canaan Valley is a beautiful area and awesome riding. You can go see Black Water Falls or head southeast across 250 to the Blue Ridge.
I use these tethers if I feel the GoPro can fall off, but I've never had issues with my mounts. I usually get Smatree GoPro mounts for my Hero 3+. They are cheap and work well.
