why do so many people lower a sportbike?
-
christ, 6 weights on a front is a hell of a lot. more than I've ever had to use by like 4. the rear is sometimes a 6-7 weights kind of tire.

Cut holes in your frame for instant horsepower!!!

I think he has the same amount of holes that plate does in his head. -

only a kawasaki rider... ditch the helmet it's too heavy. -
I have that same balancer and it's actually very well made and sensitive. it can react to less than a 1/4 of an ounce.

that sand wasn't fun to find. I missed seeing it completely. that was the closest I've ever come to a real crash due to losing grip from a tire before. glad we slowed it down a notch due to the speed limit change. if we hit that shit as fast as we were going..I know for sure my ass would have went down. I barely managed to stay on the bike as it was. it was like riding a bull.

I rarely hear overly loud sportbikes. it's those god damn fags on those harleys that are the biggest offenders if you ask me.
-
yeah, and look at our current economy that the republicans had control over for more than 12 years. it went terrific didn't it? ahem, you missed the most important part of my quote...I guess conveniently, It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt. you should practice it.

too bad you couldn't find this one. I think this is the one I got at the microcenter here in cincy. http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0259587 http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce6_techspecs.html it's a little bit better and less expensive. they guy at the store said it was the best one they had on the shelf at the moment for the older systems.

I didn't read the rest of this thread but are you serious? california has been broke since 2000 or so. they couldn't even pay enron to keep the power on. do you remember all the rolling black outs? do you guys just pay attention to fox news and rush limbaugh or something? you guys better remember this quote from abraham lincoln It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt. because the right these days is nothing but fools. putting their feet in their mouths trying to be witty every single day. fox news is owned by a the largest republican campain contributor in the country. and you really expect to get "biased" or "factual" news from them? god you guys are morons. everything t you righties have been spewing in the last few months can be debunked with one 2 min search using google. but why would you guys research anything for truth... and all this crap about socialism is getting rather old. it doesn't apply but only in your minds. a famous republican Abraham Lincoln said in a speech once, it's the role of a government to help and provide for those who otherwise cannot help themselves. (sounds like your idea of socialism doesn't it?) this isn't a direct word for word as I cannot quite remember it that way. but I've seen and heard it a bunch of times before. so is your own party of republicans socialist or is Abraham lincoln a socialist now? you guys really do sound pretty ignorant ranting about it.

SOOO who here uses Shell Rotella T Oil in their bikes?
serpentracer replied to Dubguy85's topic in Tech and Tips
I would use any car oil before I would rotella for the fact it's made for engines that do not generate a lot of heat and reach high rpms. most bikes aren't begining to make any power at what a diesel red lines at. I'm just a firm believer in using the proper equipment for the job. I don't use pliers to tighten fasteners and I don't buy cruiser tires for a track day. likewise I don't use just anything on a shelf for a engine that generates 15k rpm and really high combustion chamber temps. it just doesn't make any sense. -
the TL handled like a harley. at least that's what the mags all said about it.

I had been looking for a few months for a 8x AGP card for my old computer I wanted to run linux on. good luck finding one. or finding a decent one. I got lucky and found a pretty good Nvidia card(the type escapes me right now) which sold for over $140 a few years ago for $29 at Microcenter in Cincinnati.

how is the new domino's? they used to be pretty tasteless. they've been giving them away for $5 in Delhi for years. I guess they are that bad. I gave them up a long long time ago. I'd rather go to papa johns or larosa's. hell even little ceasars is better than domino's if you get them to make you a fresh one.
-
yeah I'd rather do the real plug thing myself. but they are known for burning up. I'd be tempted to get 2 plugs

no, that dude can drive a car. he been road racing cars for longer than I've been alive. his race car was a 1969 camaro Z-28 set up for road racing with a 600hp small block. that thing would handle like a new vette can. he's used to cars that you can literally just let the clutch out and the will burn out.
-
no the gti has to be revved up high. I'm not doing any complaining. I never drove it. he's used to driving 500hp cars though. I probably wouldn't mind having to wind it up a little. but he said it's annoying. he said the gti would smoke the mazda without a problem. but it was a pain to take off. he said that's one car that will have a lot of clutches put in them. I'll have to find out what 4cyl the mazda he has is. I believe it's the 2.0. I have a S/10 with the 4.3. it has 250 ft/lbs of torque. which is friggin great. I don't even have to take it past 2200rpm to hit 70 by time I reach the highway on a relatively short entrance ramp.

I didn't bother to read the whole thread. but I know someone with a 2008 mazda 3. he let me drive it. my impression is it has a great set of brakes. very powerful. it handles pretty good too. but it has a very weak engine. comfy seating. I like the triptronic shift option. although without much power from the engine it's not really worth having. I do not like the red dash lights and stereo/hvac controls. no way to put a aftermarket stereo in it either. big turn off for me since the stock radio is so weak. would I buy one? no. it's over priced. and he regrets it too. those $375 a month payments are getting to him. also believe it or not he traded a VW 2008 GTI in for it. he said it's fast but you have to revv it to like 1800 rpm just to get it to move. he highly doubts the 207 ft/lbs torque rating. he said it feels more like it only has 100.

that guy needs a wheel chock. nothing stopping it from rolling forward is very bad. plus all those tie downs have no leverage on the bike to keep it from tipping. you should put them as high as you can. one on the lower part like that will not keep it up.
-
I know someone who had their R1 windscreen ripped off that way.
-
all the guys on R6 forums were just going with new blade style connectors. like what's on your clutch and brake switches. Radio shack has them. I seen a site a while back that sold new connectors. it was a specialty site that sells the stators and related items only. I just can't remember what it was called.

. some of you might like this article, http://www.sportrider.com/tech/146_0310_oil/index.html excerpts from article, One common claim is that motorcycle oils have specific additives that are more suited for motorcycle engines. Based on an average of the three automotive oils we tested, the bike oils do in fact contain more of everything except calcium and boron. Note that the average moly content, which is often the friction modifier of choice, is higher in the motorcycle oils than the car oils mainly due to the three bike oils that use an extremely high moly content. We did, however, unequivocally answer a few questions. For one, most name-brand motorcycle-specific oils are indeed different than common automotive oils, even within the same brand, debunking a common myth. Mobil One automotive oil is definitely different than its motorcycle-specific version. The same is true for the three oils provided by Castrol, showing that both companies have different goals when formulating their automotive and motorcycle products
