Quite a list c7fx!

My first bike was a '97 Kawasaki ZX6e that I bought in January (or thereabouts) of 2010 and I got it rebuilt by July of 2010. Then it gets complicated:

2007 Komoto 450 enduro

2007 Yamaha R6

2003 Honda 600rr

2002 Yamaha R1

2007 Suzuki GSXR 600

2010 Honda CBR 600rr

All within the course of the (now) two years that I have been riding. It has helped immensely with figuring out what I do and don't like for what kind of riding I am choosing to do.

First and only bike is my ninja 250. Definitely glad I started small since I made quite a few mistakes starting out that could've ended badly on a bigger bike. Still learning new stuff all the time and pushing a little more to see what all the bike has to offer.

My first first bike a Kuwahara scooter that I stuck a go-kart engine on along with bicycle apehangers and a banana seat over a boring winter in 1997. I had it through college and had plenty of fun ripping around from house party to house party. I only recently got rid of it when it was sitting outside and my neighbor spotted it and wanted it for drunken drag racing. I figure his fat ass cruising at 30 drunk out of his mind ought to be good entertainment.

My first real bike was a 1996 Suzuki Bandit 600 that I picked up in spring of 2004. Great bike, I had lots of fun on it. I sold it to a friend after I bought my first SV, then he sold it to another friend, so it was both their first bike too. About 3 weeks ago my friend got rear ended on it by a fuckwad in a pickup truck and the bike is a total loss. Major bummer to see it go out like that.

  • 4 years later...

I'm digging this thread from the grave. It's winter and I'm bored.

1st bike, 2005 Yamaha YZ250F. I rode quads before that, but nothing that was mine. It was too much for me, 16 years old and stupid. It kicked my ass to the ground many times.

2nd bike, 1st street bike was a 2001 CBR F4i. Bought strictly on looks and budget. I had so much fun on this bike. If I ever find it, I will try to get it back.

3rd bike, 2006 Harley Sportster 1200 Custom. I thought I wanted a cruiser for more comfort, I was wrong. Rode this bike the least and decided to quit riding for awhile and sold it.

4th bike, about 6 months after selling the Sportster, I got the riding itch again. Found this 98 BMW K1200RS on cycletrader in Dublin. This bike opened my eyes to the Sport Touring style. Loved the bike, just too costly to maintain and was starting to age. I probably would have kept it if it had cruise.

5th and current bike. My favorite of course. The 2014 Yamaha FJR1300A. I have ridden this bike more than any of my others. I have had it for a little over 2 years and I still don't get bored of it. I can't wait to see where this bike takes me in the future.

+1 on the winter thing and I'm on PTO today.

I guess that I'm a late bloomer.   When I was in high school a couple of buddies had Vmaxes which I am still infatuated with today.  I moved to the "big city" of Indianapolis and didn't have a garage so I lost what little interest I had over time.    I was always more of a car guy but a life event pushed me towards bikes.

First Bike - FZ07

Learned to ride on this one, but I never really liked it which surprised me because of all of the FZ fans out there.

I rode 50's 70's and 100cc trail bikes as a kid, but this was my first street legal bike:

Actually, this is an '83.  My first was an '82, but they're the same.  The '82 I got right out of college, back when I had a new wife and son, a mountain of debt and almost no disposable income.  I ended up selling it to put a new roof on the house.

Years later (more than I care to admit), I started feeling nostalgic and purchased this one on eBay from a guy down in Tennessee.  It hadn't been plated in a long time and was missing the turn signals, mirrors and working charging system.  I have completely disassembled it, replaced every rubber part and gasket, repaired the electrical system, replaced half of the transmission gears and shafts and generally made it road worthy.

First street bike was a brand new Suzuki GN400. Loved that bike.

DT1 is a neat bike and very similar to the CT3 I'm currently building.

First bike was a 1972 CZ 175 trail.  Taxi cab yellow with checkerboard stripes, oh dang was it ugly. Crashed it sooo bad I left it in the woods for the rust to take it. First streetbike was a 1975 Honda CB750, first true highside (totaled).

The list bike that have come and gone since then;

1982 Yamaha YZ125; 1976 Honda CB550 supersport; 1984 Honda VF1000F interceptor;  1980 KZ1000 police interceptor;  2006 Triumph Sprint ST.

The ones I have currently, check my signature below.

2. 2001 Honda CBR929RR. Rode that one for a couple of years. Friends stopped riding so  I traded it for a quad. Dumbass move.

3. 2006 Suzuki SV1000S. Had the full fairing kit on it. LOVED this bike. No one else was riding and I learned that there were some AMAZING roads around SEO that no one seemed to want to venture a little further than the "normal" roads. That led me to..

4. 2006 Yamaha FJR1300A. Had this one from about 2k8 until my divorce and birth of my son in 2009. Sold due to divorce in 2010 and had to wait until 2016 to get another bike which was a ...

6. 2015 Yamaha FJR1300A. Had always wanted to get another FJR so when I went to Pony to look at a used one, and got offered a smoking deal on a fresh from the crate 2015, I jumped. Hope to keep this one for quite some time.

My first real motorcycle was a '73 Yamaha 360 2 cycle enduro ( I could be wrong but I think it was a DT360). It was geared real low & had knobbies & was a blast to ride in the snow. Gave me some proper sliding practice.
