Planning new ride...what do you think?

I've got the itch starting early this time.....I've always enjoyed the GP and came close to a GTO even though it wasn't tops in the looks department for me, I fell in love with it once behind the wheel. However, due to some feature restraints wifey and I compromised...now then....the new one is about to arrive....what's everyone think of the new Aussie Invasion?

I like it......I think I would like it better if it were a wider body? because I dont care for that front view.

I still have the motor trend with it on the cover. I THINK 380 hp v8, 6speed manual. Someone correct me if im wrong, it's been a while since i read that article.

Actually I think that is a really good looking car. Do you have interior shots and specifications?

That's a good looking body style. The first picture makes it look aggressive and the color works well.

I think the dead on front view looks narrow due to the angle...it's wide in person....wider than my GXP I think.

 

I have full specs around here somewhere....will edit post shortly.

 

6.0l L98, 362hp with DOD for fuel economy. Six Speed auto option or 6 Speed manual.

 

I'll likely go with the Tap-Shift/Tiptronic, whatever auto. Like the Solstice, the auto's are seeming to pull better times...at least in Aussie Land.

 

Would really love to have the LS2, but that's not going to happen as it would likely kill sales....guzzler tax and what not with an auto on the GTO surely hurt some sales. GM Sedans don't sell well with a manual tranny....but the tranny debate can occur outside this thread if that's okay with everyone.

 

More info....come peek over at http://www.g8power.com vs me just linking or double posting stuff everywhere. GM is watching the site like mad too. We've already had to remove and update some things at their request.

Holy shit, thats the G8 they were supposed to bring out in 2000? They changed the body style quite a bit, but I still like it. I wish they would've brought the 2000 G8 out. The AWD LS1 would've been so bad ass.
