Holy thread bump batman. I just ran the numers on the fd the other day. I have 12.3k in mine. Shortly, I am going to swap out the 13b and go with a bigger engine that has torque! JUST KIDDING! I do have plans for it, but it won't be complete before this summer, oh well.

16k for the car

40k+ on top of that...soon to be more if i decide to get it running again :(

 

hmm, a lot has happened since last year :p

 

bought a turbo Buick, decided it was too much of a boat, so i sold that and bought another FD and am transplanting everyting that can be salvaged over to it...after all that, body/paint work, prolly be dropping another $20k including the roller.

I dont get caught up in the power to mony ratio because LS1's suck at that game. I spent so much on my car to assure all of the mods match up, and compliment each other. Now that all of the bugs are fixed it pulls like a raped goat. I could still port the 90mm manifold($575), upgrade from the 228/232 cam($700 for the cam and Patriot Gold springs), port the afr's($900), and make over 480rwhp on motor... However at this point I have a few things I'm considering before I drop $3k more into the car.

I love the amount of money people have in their cars and the times they run. I had just alil bit over 15k in the vette and was runnin low 10's with 140 traps. Not saying that is crazy but people with over 20k in their cars and are not runnin low 10's or faster makes me LOL.

Hey Bill, have you noticed that its hard to get LS1 blocks above 460rwhp on motor? What's the most power you have seen an LS1 put down with a stock crank/ factory 346ci?

 

 

There are alot of guys making 501rwhp with trick flow heads, vengence cam with a 90mm setup.

i thought about that the other night when i was watching Pinks All Out(which is also LOL), all the money i've wasted on cars i coulda had a single digit car with a matching truck and trailer :( it's really sad.

Depends on the car and what has to be done. Let's just say I'm well over 20K but that's not just engine, it also includes brakes, drivetrain and suspension. Performance parts for cars like the GTO with limited runs cost out the ass compared to parts for mass produced ones. ...and try adding shipping costs from OZ to everything you want to buy.

Minus the brakes all those other things you listed are helping you go faster. I am just amazed on what people have in their car and what is runs. My fd I plan on having less the 10k total in the whole car and it will be a single digit runner. The TBSS should have maybe 3k in it depending if I add some efans and a few other things and it will be a low 11 truck. If you do your homework you can find what works best with your car and make is run really good for alot less.
