This is what I was looking for. If I replaced my nitrous kit with a twin turbo I would be at $27k as well. The biggest difference is that I havn't purchased a block yet. I also noticed that you didnt list your suspension mods. I'm going to assume you have them because your car is fast as hell!!!

QUOTE]

I only have about $400 in rear suspension. I still have the stock upper control arms. That price didn't include what labor would have cost for installing all the parts. I've had the built engine out of the car 3 times already and replaced ported heads once, so it would have been alot more money for someone that can't work on their own car. The car also is broke sometime for weeks at a time waiting for replacement parts. Going fast right is really expensive and everytime you drive the car on the street you wonder what you might break next. But when it's running it is a blast to drive.

Whats the easiest V6 to mod?

Grand National, however easy unfortunatly does not mean cheap, although to run 12's in one is about the easiest, considering it was a 14 sec car in stock form. Tires, Race gas, adjustable wastegate rod, AFPR, and a scanner to somewhat tune and you well into the 12's, for about $400 if that. To go much faster though will cost you to do it right. Although one guy did all the above and added a TE60 turbo and a small nitrous shot from a kit he had laying around and ran 11.5's, the turbo didn't last long though. I will have to check my reciepts but I got about $6,000 into my car and I am nearly not done yet, my guess would be that total investment when I am done will be close to $15,000.

Ohh and my $6,000 does not include the almost $4,000 in parts that came with the car, so if you want to add that in I got $10,000 and have about another $10,000 to spend.

You used the first link in his sig :D

I know exactly what you mean. I have only driven my car twice in the last 4 months. I have also spent exactly $8796.02 on having parts installed that I didnt feel confortable doing. Being able to do all the work yourself will save you thousands.

Over $42k (including the price on the car) and it makes 490 RWHP using a 75 shot.

Hey Bill, have you noticed that its hard to get LS1 blocks above 460rwhp on motor? What's the most power you have seen an LS1 put down with a stock crank/ factory 346ci?

I'm guessing around $16k as it sits in just parts, not including cosmetic, misc parts overlooked during installs, labor, etc.

Everything said and done, including the price of the car ($14500 in '02), we'll go with $35k for the whole shebang. Not too bad considering :)

Used parts - (thanks Wease)

Cam - 250

Headers - 300

MSD wires - 50

ASP underdrive pulley - 75

New parts - performance

Comp cam valve springs - 200

Thunder Racing Pushrods - 180

Corsa exhaust - 675

UMI suspension - 350

Hotchkis springs - 200

Short shifter - 50

Off road Y-pipe - 100

SLP lid - 100

Tune / dyno time - 300

New parts - show

Wheels / tires - 1400

Tint - 150

Gauges - 150

About 2800 in performance parts netted me a ~80 RWHP gain over stock. The car dyno'd at 332 with a lid and cat back, 383 with the full boltons and cam. It was never dyno's completely stock. All of the parts were installed in my garage with the help of others in Cofba.

I don't think 2800 is too bad but the car was not real cheap - 24,900 4 years ago.
