Benner
So today at work we got in 4 2008 Corvette ZHZ's. Every one that stopped by and saw them thought they were some special edition high priced vettes. There just high priced. They're the new Hertz rental cars. Not the prettiest corvettes I've ever seen and I don't think they'll last too long once customers start renting them. They have a custom front air dam that makes them look like they have braces, custom wheels that are hidious, a poorly done black stripe, and a spoiler similar to the Z06's. My cell phone doesn't show enough detail to show the flaws so I didn't bother with a close-up of the black strip. From a distance they look good but up close is where they lose the general Corvette sexyness. http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj32/Formula98/ZHZ.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj32/Formula98/ZHZ1.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj32/Formula98/ZHZ2.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj32/Formula98/ZHZ3.jpg Had to through this one in for comparison sake. http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj32/Formula98/untitled-1.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj32/Formula98/ZHZ4.jpg
Science Abuse
... there's seriously a Hertz edition vette? Why would I rent a vette that screams I'M A RENTAL!!!!!"?
cptn janks
corvettes are my favorite car ever, but that is just ugly. def. looks like braces lol.
Benner
I'm thinking we're gonna be fixing alot of these in the next few months cause you know some idiot's gonna think, "hey I've never drivin anything with that much power.... I'll take it" and then 20 minutes later that power will put him up over a curb.
excell
Those are certainly an interesting set of wheels...

TTQ B4U
Must be why they put on those ugly ass wheels. Maybe when it's time to retail them, they'll popped back on the stock wheels. Benner
did you splooge on the car? Lol. It's still got the protective plastic on it. That's probally what your seeing. Not for sure on the pricing but I'm guessing $120 to $150 a day.

unfunnyryan
I bet one will be gone after the first week of renting starts.
Flyin Miata
Those wheels would make me think twice about renting one, but then the phrase "drive it like a rental" rears it's ugly head. Keep an eye out for these at local autocrosses, it won't be long.

Benner
There all Auto so far and I'm guessing they'll all be like that. I don't think Hertz even has any manuals in the entire fleet.
Main3s
I'm dissapointed that they did this with the vette...

Im sooo ready, Ill take the nitrous kit off my vette for a weekend of fun! They prolly do sit higher just for the dumbass's that would crush the bumper up. Thats easily fixable with a jack and a 10mm...

Going a step further, I'd imagine GM was nice and gave it a more mild shift profile to lengthen it's life at the hands of renters (those are electronically controled, right?). Extra insurance: $80/day?
GSXRAntwon
From what Ive been reading on Corvette Forum....it has all kinds of safety features like one, you cant take traction control off.
