ramtech3d The Prius has an Electronic Gearbox Control system and not a mechanical gearbox. Apparently switching to Neutral just won't work because it refuses to send the signal to the electronic gearbox and the car is still accelerating in 1-2-3-4 gear no matter what

No, the point is if the issue is related to the cars computer/ECU it might not be allowing the drivers to switch the car over into neutral. The video here is of a 2010 Prius that's working fine. Who knows WTF is going on with them.
