DaddyBuiltRacing
So much corruption in sports, I used to be a kid that thought athletes were role models. Then I heard Mickey Mantle before he died state that athletes should not be looked upon as role models, that teachers and parents were the real role models. He was absolutely correct in that statement.
DaddyBuiltRacing
Bye Bye Roby.... "In addition to the seniors that will step on the Ohio Stadium turf for the final time, redshirt junior corner Bradley Roby will play his last collegiate home game, too. Meyer confirmed that he and Roby discussed his remaining year of eligibility and agreed that it was time for the player to move on. “We talked and he’s going to go move on,” Meyer said. “And that’s all you ask. You don’t ask for five years nowadays. Not probably, he’s gone. … I think it’s great for him (and) great for Ohio State." http://ohiostate.scout.com/2/1348966.html

DaddyBuiltRacing
He's a 4th year guy, why would you not go get the most money you can while you're body is still young and able to do so. The average career in the NFL is like 3.5 years to begin with. I don't really fault guys for going pro early, you can always finish your degree later, you can't always play football. I think his stock has dropped, I think he goes beginning to middle of 2nd round. It just depends on how he does at the combine, workouts and how the draft order works out, team needs also play a role.

And unless ESPN throws a metric fuckton of money at Delany in 2016 I don't see it stopping as the B1G will move primarily to Fox.

Orion
LOL@ Skip Clueless trying to say Winston isn't in that much trouble. That's ridiculous. This will not be settled before the NCG, so Winston isn't going to get pulled off the field anytime soon. If this is all legit, I feel for that young lady. Getting raped, and THEN being told by the PD that you should "just let it drop", essentially....horrifying.
DaddyBuiltRacing
He is ridiculous, I swear ESPN will hire just about anyone off the street as long as they can play the role of villian. Bayless has absolutely no credibility and has been ripped apart by athletes and other "experts" numerous times. I have said this before but i'll say it again, I really wish there was an alternative to ESPN.

NOW let you or I do that and we'd be in jail from day 1 until proven innocent.
Dr. Pomade
I'd like to hear the apologies of all the fucks who claimed that the woman in this case was just making up that Winston was there for money, publicity, spite, etc. Rape is one of those things that is just beyond me. If a chick is not completely in to me (and only the lesbians aren't, even some of them secretly are), then I'm definitely not turned on by that. And if a chick is so intoxicated that she doesn't know what's she's doing, then that does nothing for me either. A porn vid is more interactive at that point.
RedRocket1647545505
What's with so many athletes being fuckheads these days? Can't you be good at your sport, AND be a good person as well. Is that too much to ask these days?
DaddyBuiltRacing
If a chick is not completely in to me (and only the lesbians aren't, even some of them secretly are) Positive rep for you sir, I literally laughed out loud at this one. I saw this morning that ESPN is reporting the DNA matches from her underwear to Winston. Not looking good for him right now and honestly if I am FSU I would really consider sitting him until this investigation is complete. This is larger than football at this point.
bicranium
There's no reason for FSU to sit him until he's charged because at that point it's university policy. There's no risk of vacated games because it's a criminal matter, not an NCAA one. Same reason I laughed at people who brought up Meyer's arrest record at Florida when he was hired. With how lame the NCAA is it's better to have a team full of criminals than a team full of good kids who break a silly rule.
Dr. Pomade
Rape? Nothing to see here, move along. Eligible for NC and Heisman, please proceed. Traded memorabilia for tattoos? 5 game ban, force coach to retire, vacate entire season, bowl ban, and stigma for you.

But it's FSU (and probably most universities') policy that if you're charged with a felony you're suspended until it's resolved.
DaddyBuiltRacing
Wouldn't it become an NCAA situation if FSU knew about it and helped cover it up? Don't they consider that "lack of institutional control"

A lot will be determined on how well he does at the combine and workouts, plus team needs as I stated. FWIW here is where he is currently slated according to various mock drafts BTW 5'11 190 is a big physical corner these days? Draftsite 16th to Packers Bleacher Report 22nd to Bears SBNation has him 25th to the Eagles CBS has him out of the 1st round (they don't list any other rounds on their age at the moment) Walterfootball has him 3rd round (#77 to Giants)

FWIW here is where he is currently slated according to various mock drafts BTW 5'11 190 is a big physical corner these days? I read that the average size of a corner in the NFL is 5'9 185. He is 5"11 192 and very physical/ Draftsite 16th to Packers Bleacher Report 22nd to Bears SBNation has him 25th to the Eagles CBS has him out of the 1st round (they don't list any other rounds on their age at the moment) Walterfootball has him 3rd round (#77 to Giants) CBS prospects has him as #3 CB and 1-2 rounds. They don't have all their mocks out so they don't have a consensus draft spot for him (which is why it doesnt go past the first round). Traded memorabilia for tattoos? 5 game ban, force coach to retire, vacate entire season, bowl ban, and stigma for you. It's literally insane how much hate OSU gets compared to other schools. Fuck the SEC, this kid almost definitely raped that girl and needs to be suspended at least, it's fair to her and her family, as well as to Collegiate football. This, and the Manziel thing are complete BS favoring the SEC. Seriously, how bad is selling memorabilia for tattoos compared to selling memorabilia for LOTS of money in the case of Manziel, and raping a young girl? Being from Connecticut it's disheartening to hate ESPN so much since I lived just 30 minutes from their headquarters for the first 17 years of my life, but they've become too money-hungry and SEC-friendly. Fox or someone really should take over NCAA Football.
