  1. I have not fired the PF9 but would like some more info on them. I carry a Kahr PM9 more than I carry my G19. I'm not a big fan of the G26 mostly because of it's size, I really have a hard time thinking of it as a sub-compact when comparing it to the Kahr PM9. The Kahr I have is $250 more than a gen 3 G26 and I would make the purchase again.
  2. I doubt that would have been the end of mothers list had she thought anyone would have lived up to that criteria. Mothers are special creatures that like to use any means necessary to keep their babies safe even if it defies logic. At an age when a mother has that kind of influence on their children I would bet that the majority of riders don't have a MC license so she wins. I know several if not dozens of people who have ridden for decades without a license. Some should never get on the roads and some I would let my mother ride with. I have had an active insurance policy for all of my vehicles since '78 and my MC endorsement since '82 that certainly isn't an endorsement for me being a better or safer rider than the next guy.
  3. Semantics with no relevance to what occurred. http://www.ohioriders.net/showthread.php?t=89294
  4. I guess I'm trying to understand what the point is for the R.I.P. threads or what they are about. Are they to be reverent and respectful or are they a starting point to discuss how many wrong choices everyone made that was involved. Most of the threads have half the folks posting "R.I.P." and the other half are wondering if they had a helmet on or not like it makes a difference. In my mind it doesn't make any difference at all. It sucks to die no matter the reason and I can see a reason to second guess any vehicle death so why do we have these types of threads? A news report about an accident is a good starting point for a discussion but do the folks who only have "R.I.P." to say think everyone else dissecting the merits of the actions or lifestyles choices of the deceased are being disrespectful? Every group ride I have been on people were doing dangerous things that might have led to their deaths but if that were to occur would any of them deserved it?
  5. I started this conversation in another thread and regret doing it now because I don’t think R.I.P. threads should be a discussion thread that a lot of them turn into. http://www.ohioriders.net/showthread.php?t=89272 What is the point to a R.I.P. thread? Is it to be respectful and acknowledge the rider or are they to be used to decide who was at fault or if they should have died because they weren’t taking all the necessary precautions? I find in no more relevant if a rider was wearing gear, has a valid license, plates or current insurance. Riding is inherently dangerous, a R.I.P thread doesn't need to be dissected into each individual’s level of acceptable risk to decide if the death is valid or not. These people don't deserve to die just because they don't have others same values for risk assessment. The folks on the car forums would think that just riding no matter what precautions you take make you a fool to take such chances with your life, maybe they are right. The track only guys have decided that the street is not where they want to ride; do they deserve to die on the track after taking the entire street riding risk out of their activities? If someone is current with their tags, license, insurance, wear all the proper gear, ride obeying all traffic laws and still die is that loss more tragic?
  6. Not being current on your government papers proves nothing about your ability to make rational decisions in an emergency situation. People make poor decisions all the time while they are totally compliant to government regulations it has no bearing on the outcome. If the accident would have been another vehicles fault would he have deserved to die because he had expired plates and license?
  7. And if you die on the bike it will be because you have expired plates.
  8. What the fuck does expired plates and license have to do with any of this?
  9. What the hell do you know from old? Damn punk kids, stay off my yard.
  10. Two mags with gen 3s, three mags with gen 4s, unless its blue label then it's three for both gens.
  11. Spend some time with it before making that decision. Using the right holster and depending on body type the 19 is easier to conceal in some cases. You lose a third of the round count with the 26. I am a Glock fan and I shoot a 26 as well as a 19 but the 26 is way too big to be considered a sub compact in the sub compact world. You do get an extra magazine with the gen 4s and the extra back straps. If a gen 3 fits, great but if you want to teach a girlfriend, sister or mother to shoot having the ability to change them is useful. As an added bonus you can run it left handed or use your trigger finger to release the mags right handed while keeping your grip.
  12. What about not being able to ride when you are instructing as a negative. I don't have near as many weekends available to ride as I would like to have now. Might be a nice easy retirement gig for some pocket change but I would rather have my riding weekends free to do with as I please. If helping others is what you like to do get into some group rides there is always someone needing help plus you still get to ride, the pay sucks but how much would you pay to have a nice weekend to ride?
  13. There is a lot to like about the PPS, I can't pick one up without pinching my hand with the magazine.
  14. I am just a supplier to Raven. You have seen some of my other products so you can probably tell my touches in the part. Raven undertook the process based on past history with us without any guarantee that they would have a marketable product in the end. They believed in the product enough to put the investment into it and we have no ownership in the product at all so I can't speak for them about when the final product release date will take place.
  15. You get what you pay for. I have a 6x12 that I paid over 5K for three or four years ago. You can buy cheap to serve a purpose short term or you can invest in something that will last, the cost of ownership is cheaper because they hold their value and cost of pulling it is less. There are many options in the vehicle, motorcycle, trailer world and most of them have a wide variety in prices. If you are going to make comparisons try to make it apples to apples. I have no idea what this cheap piece of shit is worth the wetback is trying to sell though.
  16. The majority of our imported oil comes from North America namely Canada and Mexico. It stands to reason that the oil reserves didn't skip our part of North America we just haven't utilized it for energy, we use it for politics. Much like the man made climate change ruse people are actually under the impression that we could run out of oil. I remember in the early seventies reading articles about the oil shortage. One in particular had copy from a 1910 news paper article that was written by some "expert" of the time stating that if oil consumption continued at the pace it was on all the oil reserves would be dry in a decade. The same idiot experts are still around fucking up our shit and are still just as wrong as they were then. Drill Baby Drill.
  17. I knew most of this but thought it might be fun to hear others opinions about this. http://www.dailyfinance.com/2012/02/13/3-economic-misconceptions-that-need-to-die/?icid=maing-grid10%7Chtmlws-sb-bb%7Cdl8%7Csec1_lnk3%26pLid%3D135454 Mostly this shows that we have enough oil domestically to support ourselves if we would just access it.
  18. In case anyone missed this http://www.ohioriders.net/showthread.php?t=88495 There is a reason why this was made for Glocks first. There is a good chance that one of the two listed in the OP will be next.
  19. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Raven-Concealment-Systems/305851175686?sk=wall http://kitup.military.com/2012/02/public-service-announcement-raven.html Maybe you can be one of the lucky winners of a new VanGuard 2
  20. What? I was reserved and didn't mention anything about that inferior slow turd of a round the .45 is. I thought we should keep this on topic so you can be helped to make your decision to get a Glock.
  21. Ha, ha, he said he wanted something to carry not an old heavy piece of history good only for target shooting.
  22. I have owned a Ninja 250 and a Busa plus several others in between. I never felt inadequate on the 250. If you are sure of what you will be using it for then you are right on track with the 750 and smaller wouldn't hurt either. I ride a 250 scooter most of the time and can't find anything it won't do that a big cruiser can do. Yes, I have even owned a Road King Classic that I don’t miss at all, the scooter is shit tons more fun and practical.
  23. Valkyrie is also a distributor for the Slide Fire Solutions stocks. He is one of the distrubutors that always has them in stock for sale as well.
  24. First impression from the options you presented and the information given I thought you should go with M&P .40, that was until I saw that your "stockpile" of ammo was only 1K. (One weekend class.) That changes things, still using your initial post parameters I say M&P 9mm. If you are looking at this style of handgun though, as others have suggested, a Glock is an excellent choice. If you have some sort of bias against it I understand some peoples unwillingness to change their minds, you don't know what you don't know. If this style of handgun is an interest of yours I would suggest getting the Glock first because you will end up with one sooner or later and be pissed at yourself for wasting money on the others. Don't say I didn't warn you.
  25. The perfect addition. Ohio company really close to me. http://www.valkyriearmament.com/belt_feed_conversions/
